Have you ordered on the phone app before?
If the old device is return to Asurion do you need to reset the device to factory settings and remove the mobile PIN?
You'll find this information on the trade in page.
Yes, reset everything before you send it to them
s25 Port in deal is dead?
S24 256GB/8GB: $1249 - $500 - $150 - $100(amex) - Tradein value = $499 - Tradein Value
Bit hassle but 2-3 times less than the price of the iphone. I guess only china can take the price of iphone down. Just need to bring back Huawei.
Amex offer won't work if order value is less than $500.
No duh. The deal above is $599 BEFORE Amex offer.
Aah my mistake. I added my pixel 7 for trade-in whi h took of another $175
Can also use combank for the $100 off as well along with the $100 code from chat, added in a screen protector, so the S24 256GB comes out at $402. Used a $1 broken phone to get the trade in bonus. Not buying the phone just checking what the price comes down to
Question - how did you go about using Commbank for the $100 off?
Haven't had any luck finding it in the commbank app (maybe looking in the wrong place)
I just followed the link from Yello in the app. I put in the codes in and at the top it just said make sure the order is more than $500. I didn't order anything I was just stacking and seeing what it would work out to be
I come up with less than $500 when I run through the process of adding codes. So no $100 from commbank?
There are different levels to commbank yello so you may not have the offer.
100 off code doesn't work on commbank store
It did for me
Unfortunately didn't work for me either.
Does it take you to samsung store to use amex cash back?
The codes they are giving out dont work on commbank yello, at least not since 1 hour after your comment. Maybe you got a different code but they are giving $100 bonus codes with trade in.
Not sure how you got to $402 either. $749 -$1 trade in + $39 S24 screen protector - 150 trade bonus - $100 discount code - $100 commbank yello discount = $437.
What is this $100 code your referring to thanks
I'm very concern after reading all the reviews
https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/asurion#reviews
Seemed like it's a recurring theme of refusing to honour the trade-in value and will do anything to not having to honour the amount, have anyone else who traded in a perfectly good phone according to these criteria and not getting the full amount?

To be honest last time i sent in a device, it had some scratches and marks, the price was honored. However it could be a role of rhe dice. Product Review as rarely has people with good experiences who will actually take the time to post on them. So your % of good vs bad is very skewed
Thanks tnarg, the Samsung community posts also get very similar reviews as well.

What happens if you don't send it in?
Also keen to know what happens if you don't send it in.
They offered $95 trade in for my phone. Happy to lose that, but not the remainder of the discount ($150+)
Comon guys, it says it in the terms and conditions when during check-out like 3 times.
$60 non device return fee.
The pre-authorisation on my credit card for the trade in was only $40 (their valuation of an S9). Does that mean they would just charge me another $20 for not returning?
@DoctorArd: The pre-auth is the holding amount, if you dont send your device, you will not get that back. And for not sending the device, they will charge $60.
It's also says in the T&Cs that: Samsung may also charge you for any additional bonus credit applied to your order.
Has it always been there or has this been included recently?
Samsung rep said theyd charge the discount associated with it too
There’s no more the option to trade in earbuds?
No
Why not?
All this Asurion business is sounding like very risky business going from what I have just been reading.
Its hard to believe that Samsung are actually dealing or affiliated or caught up in all this as its sounding very much like highway robbery from what Ive read.
Considering you couldnt even get your trade in to work, you dont have to worry about dealing with Asurion.
No issues for me with Asurion with 2 trade in's but i put in correct details about any damage etc.
Actually, I do have to worry as a friend kindly gave me her S20 to use, which has no damage whatsoever with the exception of a micro mark on the side if that is considered as damage.
I am not saying everybody has issues with them, but as this is my first time dealing with them and reading what I feel concerned as I said from things I have read.
My efforts in trying to trade my S10 boarders on insanity and I was about to walk away, still not confident in processes of how many of these deals are done.
Each to their own though, but glad to hear you've had no issues with Asurioin.
Hey guys, samsung rep said youd need to pay back the extra discounts too if you dont send in the phone. Anyone wanna fact check?
It's not up to Samsung to charge you the discount. It's Asurion. Their terms are clear.
Once your order is done, Samsung can't charge you anything.
Would this be a downgrade from s23 ultra?
Yes, s23 ultra is still a great phone, keep it.
Price in title
Price is so good, but does it really take 3-4 weeks to deliver?
It seems I cannot trade in my Lenovo Edge 30. It has to be one of the five brands?
If it's not listed, it's not accepted.
What if you pay via PayPal the trade-in value and then cancel the recurring PayPal payment. don't send the phone and they can't charge $60 admin fee but they keep the trade-in charged?
care to explain the neg.
After reading Asurion pulling craps on the people, I am afraid they will same crap on me and have no way to contact them.
They charge upon trading in the security deposit. So you have to give them something. That was my experience last time I got the S23.
security deposit is just the trade-in value which is fine. I'm talking about $60 admin fee.
Anyone noticed about the ram difference compared to those sold by Aussie retailer e.g. JB hifi, HN, etc? Samsung website one is 12gb vs the aussie stores 8gb
Thanks, OP, and for everyone's help in the comments. I think this is going to be deal of the year for me. I was disappointed to miss out on this phone on the last few days when I could get it between $600 and $700. Ended up with this:
Samsung Galaxy S24
Discounts:
$500 off
$150 Trade in bonus
$100 Trade in voucher for trading an S9 valued at $40
Total paid: $459
$18 from TopCashback tracked almost immediately.
You need to find a way to get onto EPP.
It'll make this deal look so bad.
What's the EPP price?
@BTMoustachio
Government EPP $786.75 less tradein value (S24 256gb). You are pulling number out of arse mate.
No one is buying S24 on EPP when ppl got S25U for ~$650 with a case ($175 trade-in).
That's what I was referencing, not that EPP currently has S24 for less than this deal.
Do we think there will be a deal like this for the S24+ and/or S24 Ultra?
I currently have a S20+ that has a vertical green line in the screen, so looking to upgrade soonish.
Quick look at specs, the S24 has smaller screen, lower resolution and less ram… so not sure if I want to "upgrade" to the base S24.
The only thing to consider is the screen size, 6.2 vs 6.7, don't look at the resolution or RAM.
Cut up a piece of cardboard and hold it.
Also does the battery matter, it's smaller than your current phone.
It shows $227 for me if I trade in my S23, 128gb model. If I can get the loyality voucher, would it be a good upgrade for $127 from current S23 ?
Thank you for posting this deal. I have ordered a black s24 256 gb. After the order processing it said ships 3rd of March. Is everyone else getting similar dates?
Also I have traded in an old iPhone 12 mini 64gb for $125. The phone doesn’t have any damage whatsoever but the battery heath is at 76. Would they accept it? It didn’t say anything about battery health in the conditions
Thanks
It says ships 3/3 during the order process before you even get to payment page.
Oops. May have missed that in the excitement. Anyways thank you for your reply.
Just got a question regarding trade in, was the trade in amount deducted at check out ? or is it done later on
At the checkout. It also applied the $150 trade in bonus. And also additional $100 code requested via the chat as others mentioned.
What did you say in Chat.
I got this message
Unfortunately upon checking here we don't have additional codes that we can offer for S24.
WARNING to everyone who’s thinking of upgrading from S24U to S25U.
If you use the S-pen for its bluetooth functionality (taking photos remotely), beware the S25U’s S-pen does not have bluetooth, therefore it’s just a normal stylus.
What does this have to do with buying an S24 that doesnt have the S-pen?
Ah my bad i didnt know that, just sharing an important info as it was relevant to the disappointment of my mrs. I dont use any Samsungs myself just assumed they all have the pen. Thanks for commenting.
Lol sounds like your mrs made you to spam posts cause she didnt check before she bought. Was already discussed in the S25 Ultra deals.
Never seen a previous gen Samsung flagship get discounted so quickly
It is funny seeing all the argument about Asurion as I use to be on their side. All I can say is you get burn once and you learn your lesson.
Also note for the non ultra models, the camera system has not change since S22. The key difference in each gen is the CPU. so if your S22 / S23 is still doing good for you then it may not worthwhile to upgrade this round.
So I got:
S24 256GB/8GB: $1249 - $500 - $150 - $100(voucher from chat)-$1 (trade in) . That brings it down to $498.
Any suggestion for cheap accessories to push it to $500 so I can also claim Amex Cashback?
Thanks
I just bought the USB C to USB c cable for 20 bucks, just to rush it over the edge, if mot look at the SD cards if you have other devices that uses them.
https://www.samsung.com/au/mobile-accessories/usb-c2c-cable-…
$420 Galaxy S24 with a cable is insane value!!
yeah - bonus if you are travelling overseas within the next 60 days.
TRS just to sweeten the deal even further.
Finally got a transparent case for ~$36, not the cheapest but hopefully better quality than the one from eBay. Also depending if you plan to not send the trade-in phone back. If you don't send, you will get $60 fee, so ended up $420+60=$480..
@flickr: I have a S24 with a "carbon fibre" look case from ebay ($10) and it is fantastic! 1 year strong
Can get just a $30 trade in penalty
It's annoying that their trade in choices are so limited - loads of phone brands and models not available.
VBecause those other phones has no market value, no one buys them second hand, not much RMA for swaping.
Lesson learn is if you want to trade your phone, go for the big three. You cant fightbthe market.
That's clearly not true because, first, you can sell other phones on ebay etc and, second, you can trade them in at other places like JB.
Thanks OP. Ordered one S24 256GB for $426.55
how do you send the trade in?
Has anyone confirmed if you don't send the trade in, do you only get charged the admin fee??
Picked one up for my father. The cygnet magnetic case is also on special on their website for this phone.
Ugh I missed that, I bought Samsung's shitty case.
Their clear cases for both s24 and s25 have terrible reviews. Not sure what happened there.
jumped on the S24 with 512 gb - stacked it with AMEX which it fairly cheap
thanks for the deal OP
You can't use Amex with trade ins, if you didn't know. If you did know, then there's a special place in hell for people like you
That sucks i didnt know that? And I am pretty sure you are wrong….
AMEX confirmed with me the cash back via email?
Ill note i did not and could not use AMEX (they only accept VISA/MC) on the trade it just used AMEX to buy the phone from the Samsung Store….
It is 2 separate transactions - the trade in comes off the final sale but it isnt actually part of the sale to Samsung? As it uses Asurion for trade in
He is wrong. I have already received the cashback from Amex with the trade-in.
You can technically use AMEX on the trade in portal.
You just need to link it to your PayPal account
@Fasian: I asked Amex and they said they will not accept the discount if you use it with Paypal as its 3rd party
Amex doesn't care what you buy, they only care that $500 was charged from SamsungAU to your credit card. They don't even see a receipt? How would they know.
I have an old broken not starting A51 device ($10 value) but when i try to put in an order it is not asking me for the condition of the phone. i remember previously we could check the tradein value of the phone beforehand. I am missing something here?
No
