    5% pricebeat

    • My bad.

    • I dont have costco membership, can i still ask for price beat?

    128G ………………….

    • +2

It is still the elite form factor!

      • -1

At a cost of battery life.

    • ………………………is more than enough for most people.

iPhone 14, from 3 years ago, is more than enough for most people.

        • +1

I would love to know what percentage of Pro owners use their phone to its full potential.

          • +3

@Maths Debater: I use all 120hz into my eyeballs. Now when I look at a non-Pro phone my eyes burn.

        • +1

Unless you want USB-C, then you need an iPhone 15 for that.

(Or just move to Android, as the stans say, but that takes time to do, and everyone’s afraid of learning something new, especially as corporations are making them work to the bone).

          • @FujinShu: Learn something new?

I found android a challenge and iphone a breeze

In this day and age and for the price, minimum storage should be 256GB. 128GB shouldn't exist.

    What a rip-off

    • +8

The rip off is that the upgrade to 256GB costs $200 for $15 worth of NAND. 128GB is fine if you’re happy to offload your photos to the cloud every so often.

      • +4

They rip you off because people still buy it. Stop buying and then they’ll be forced to reduce the price

        • +1

You don’t have to tell me? I said I had a 128GB phone in my comment.

        • +1

Even Samsung iGalaxy realised this and took away micro SD slot. They followed iPhone.
          "This is the way"

Not everyone takes photos of their food and there's always iCloud storage.

      • +3

        there's always iCloud storage.

Connect via cable to computer, transfer to hard-disk and remove from phone.

Calculate the difference in the large storage phone against the cost of storage over a 5 year period and be a true ozbargainer

Obviously not if it was the most sold phone in 2024!

  • I’ve been told that they don’t price beat Costco?

    • +1

They do, but it ultimately comes down to the competence of the store manager.

      • +1

Which is your better chance of a PB online or in store?

        • +4

I have read people had better success via the Officeworks number 1300 633 423. It will save you time getting dicked around from one store to another.

          • +3

@Maths Debater: Yep. I did the OW price beat over the phone a few weeks back with an iPhone listing from Costco. No questions asked and pick up arranged at my local OW.

      • +1

only incompetent store managers reject PBs

    • they all do I did it when i got my IP5PMAX

      • iPhone 5 Pro Max … 10 years ago?

    • I did yesterday for airpods, in store, they said "as long as its in stock on the website we can do it", very smooth process for me.

  • Clearing for the iPhone 17 already ??

    • +7

Yep, apparently it'll feature a revolutionary new design, the 3.5mm headphone jack. Oh, and it's their "best iPhone yet".

      • +2

Its always their best iPhone yet

    • iPhone SE 4 is just around the corner

  • +2

Used it and was back to my Google Pixel 7 within a week.

  • How does the video compare with Samsung flagships?

    • -2

iPhone are the best at video recording. Android phones skip frames and switching between cameras isn't as smooth.

did the math for you guys for a 256gb 16 pro ($1,839.99 )
    if following all steps

    1. officeworks price beat (5%)
    2. buy gift cards at 10% at coles in the coming weeks/days

    use giftcard = 10% off at coles = $1,573.19

which is not a bad deal !

    • Hey thanks for your calculations.
On the coles gift cards, is this 10% applied when buying it from Coles normally? Or is it a special promo gift cards? I'm guessing you meant that we can redeem Coles gift card with Officeworks too?

Sorry for the questions, am new to the gift card games..

  • Not possible with the iPhone pro 16 256gb (any colour) via the Officeworks number 1300 633 423. No stock of compatible iPhones so no price beat at officeworks at this time. I dont know about the others (128 and 512)

  • Anyone have any experience with TGG price matching Costco? Need a new phone and have some TGG GCs I need to burn.

  • Thanks OP!
I just got the Pro Max 256 for $1,880.99 (with the price beat 5%) and a further 3% cashback from a crypto card (total: $1,824).
    OfficeWorks price: $2,037
Costco: $1,979.99 (and I'm not even a member)

It's not cheap, but it's defo cheaper, and it brings the final price of a 16 Pro Max to the RRP Price of the 15 Po Max

I had to call 1300OFFICE and get them to make the order as the phone shows as out-of-stock everywhere BUT the warehouse has it, and pick-up can be arranged the next day.

So the "out-of-stock" is not the end of the game and many models are available at a discounted price

    • Does flybuy works over the phone?

      • Yes, the operator asked me if I had an account with them (office work) and after giving my email, she said, oh good you already have Flybuys…

One thing I f'ed up, I didn't use those ultimate gift card… could have snooped an extra 9% savings…
The operator did ask me if I wanted to pay with gift cards or CC, so clearly I haven't been the first calling for this :D

        • Some people reported that they don't take giftcards over the phone.

          • @ShadowSaver: Well she asked me if I wanted to use gift cards… but maybe that was to tell me to go to the store which could have been a problem, since to order it from warehouse and pick up in store, it needs to be paid beforehand… I don't know.
Some people reported out of stock was a problem but it wasn't for me, as they shit it from warehouse, best to call them to see.

  • Thanks - my daughter got a 5% pricebeat at Officeworks today for the 128gb pro by going into the store and showing the costco price on the phone. The store had stock
