Haval Jolion vs ZST vs Chery Tiggo 4 hmmmm

  • +1

Wow this is an expensive pile of metal

  • +2

I love my MG4 and had no major issues so far. I have sold the BRZ manual with no regret.

    • Personally sold my Mercedes for my MG4, best car ever.

    • +1

The brz was over hyped. It depreciated by 10k in the first year.

    SHITTER

If you’ve ever driven one of these, you’d know

  • +2

Rented out this car once. This is probably the shittest car I've driven. Acceleration is almost non existent, brakes are spongy af and push down heaps for the car to react. Turning on bends on highway at 100km feels like the car will flip. Terrible experience all around.

  • Has anyone driven this back to back with a Jolion? The Jolion reads like a much better buy at this price range.

    • +2

Ya driven jolion and Chery tiggo 4 pro.

Drive much better than MG ZST vibe advertised here. Chery and Joilion both turbo 1.5 versus the MG advertised here which is naturally aspirated..

Drive all 3 to compare and make up your own mind. Thing I liked about the MG ZST was the 360 cameras

Video below shows 360 camera in use in new model

The $24000 versions of both Chery and Haval jolion don’t have 360 cameras from memory need go $27000 version both cars

I'll repost my comment here from another MG deal:

We have ZSTs at work - the dog slow head units, the backwards cruise control stalk (rotate up = distance control moves down the screen, toggle up\down for 5km speed increments\decrements, hold up\down to scroll in 1km speed increments\decrements - all of which is anathema to every other cruise control system I have used), the lock\unlock handles on the door handles that only work half the time, the fact that the only noise it makes is The Chime regardless of the problem (great fun when after we first got them a coworker didn't realise he was almost out of fuel because it just makes The Chime several times in a row when you turn it on to complain\inform you about various things), the boot that will randomly unlatch enough not to open but enough to make it make The Chime at you when driving because it thinks it's open and the fact that you often need to floor it to get it going from a standstill are all common complaints among the staff.

But, considering the price I'm paying for it ($0), I can say that for me, the price is right.

Conclusion based on comments and reviews:

the worst "car" you can buy in Australia, but cheap and 10 year warranty.

  • +1

make it an EV at same price point and its a deal

  • +1

How many KMs will I get off one charge with this car?

  • Is the latest MG ZS Excite any different to the one I bought for $21,990 in September last year? $26,990 is a fair bit extra.

  • Got really excited, thinking this was the EV version! I guess they want to offload as many ICE vehicles as they can now. We continue to wait patiently for the Everything Electric Shows in Sydney and Melbourne …

This car really suits all OzBargainers who are literally poor because OzBargainers equal poor.

    • +3

so…..are you saying you are poor?

      • He is saying he is Tom Segura

    • I know this is a throwaway cynical comment but I think ozb has really matured over the years as its users matured. There's a lot less penny pinching deals and more deals of $4000 TVs and $2k vacuums. There's a lot of disposable income to match whirlpool. I certainly have spent more not less post ozb

love the daily shitbox RRP posts

    • +1

Bargain turn out to be not so bargain.

  • +1

If you go in the Facebook MG ZS ZST Owners Club Australia you will see daily posts of issues that are plagued with this model. In some cases, dealerships have been offering buyback as some issues have no fix available.
Better to get the Tiggo 4pro or Haval Jolion at same price point

    • What are some of the 'buy back' unfix-able issues?

      • -1

Buy back because it would be more economical than dealing with certain customers who are constantly finding faults as they have misaligned expectation :).

  • Does this come with adaptative cruise control/distance control? I find this one of the more useful features in a modern car.

I rented the turbo one in Brisbane and it goes ok. The ladies like the cute shape and think MG is a British brand. Easy to pickup using this car in Brisbane, especially in the North I found. So if you are ugly and / or short and need some help in picking up chicks in Brisbane, try it out, rental was cheap, around $49 a day for a light blue colour one. I am not sure if it will work in Syd or Melb, I think chicks in those areas are more clued in but try anyway but get a cute colour like light blue, yellow, maroon red, etc and see if chicks get turned on.

  • +1

Cheap for the owner whilst the environment bares the cost.

  • Bang for your buck but suspension will wreck your back.

  • +1

Looks great but fuel economy kills the deal personally.
