Kayo Basic is Being Renamed to Kayo Premium & A Price Increase from $35/M → $40/M

Hello all,

Just curious as I hadn't seen any posts about this.

We’re getting in touch to let you know about a couple of changes we're making to Kayo Basic.

From 4 March 2025, Kayo Basic will change its name to Kayo Premium.

The pricing of Kayo Basic will also change from $35/mth to $40/mth. You will see this change on your next bill. If you are currently on an offer, the change will take effect after your offer ends.

I think the best thing to do if someone is looking for a cheaper Kayo subscription is to call up GWS / Last Year AFL Team used for Basic Plan
I have previously discussed it here, but in reference to late 2024.

New Sub - $350
Existing Sub* - $310 (Granted, cannot use code yet as I have previous plan)
(If not previously on a CommBank plan, which seems to be the best deal by far!)

*If you had not turned off auto renew but didn't have funds at the time (I cannot find email saying they would charge, but it was late last year), then you get charged the $310 amount.

      If you're referring to this post, it doesn't discuss the price changes - only where to find the cheapest options.

      Well, with reference to this thread, which is around how to get it for cheap, not around the price increase.

      Also, this price increase was not mentioned in the previous thread either, and I think warranted its own thread :)
      I hope I tried to add something informative with all Hyperlinks and other references

    I assume the standard one will be going up to $30 or so sometime in the near future as well if this is the case. Starting to make its way into the unaffordable category.

      It was unaffordable as soon as the $25 plan downgraded to 1 stream and the $35 plan downgraded to 2 streams as opposed to 2 and 3 streams respectively.
      They're losing content (no soccer/BeIN sports, no wrestling now) and they're increasing prices again?
      Let's see how that strategy goes

      same service, you just pay more to get a better plan name and to pay the marketing team their bonuses for coming up with the idea.

    Kayo also not streaming to very regional postcodes starting march 2025
    Woulda thought if the user has internet, that’s all they’d need to worry about? Maybe too simple a view

            @original15: This new arrangement ensures that Foxtel is the sole authorised provider of Foxtel Group premium content in these areas. From this date, Kayo Sports, BINGE, Flash and LifeStyle will no longer be available for use in these areas.

    They started up, it was affordable. A good alternative to foxtel. Got us all hooked. Upped the price, then upped it again and then upped it again.

    What options do we have now? Only in it for the afl season.

      Yeah same, was happy to keep it for a year but now I'm going to just sign up for AFL and then cancel…repeat each year until they keep prices at a decent amount, if ever!

    I got Kayo for $10 per month for a year via the CBA Yello offer. I guess they need to recover these losses from other customers.

    For any interested, amazon has $50 and $100 kayo gift cards, with 10% discount at checkout. Unfortunately doesn't double up with my amazon balance obtained by 10% discounted gift cards…..
    I've loaded up a few and kick started my dormant kayo account - they do work.
