12 Months Kayo Sports One, 12 Months Illawarra Hawks Digital Membership $214.50 @ Illawarra Hawks

911

With new seasons on the horizon, an update on these old deals.

A refresh of a couple of existing posts, for those who don't want to jump through retention hoops. I can't promise I've got them all, but I've scanned the available NBL/NRL/AFL clubs and the results are below. While it looks like the AFL clubs no longer compete on price (do they not OzBargain?), they have gone upmarket and are offering Kayo Basic. Plenty of variety with the NRL and NBL (although a tier below) so you can support your club.

Who am I kidding… Illawarra Hawks for the win!

I've summarised some of the extra perks available in addition to Kayo, but please refer to site for full details.

  • Is kayo one 4K?

Need it Kayo only for BBL and F1.

    • Unfortunately not

    • Kayo One doesn't have 4K. Kayo basic does

    • Alternative methods for F1 work pretty well

      • +1

I would like to know more!

        • Same. Need something for f1

        • Acestream is a good platform and there are sources around like f1me

  • +10

    Thanks for compiling this OP.
FYI these represent a massive price rise over last year. The previous NBL deals were around $220 for 2 screens on what is now equivalent to Kayo Basic.
This is now $350 in comparison :(

    • +7

There has been a huge drop in value to Kayo in general since the Basic and One product changes

      • +1

and when they stopped showing tennis.

        • +1

and football (the round ball variety)

  • anyone know the redemption period? it says will replace current sub but i assume you don't need to activate immediately?

    • It's previously been by the end of November.

    • T&C's say 'Must sign up by the 30th November 2025'

  • Damn, GWS offered $310 for renewal but I cancelled without even checking what was on offer for Kayo Basic elsewhere

    • +1

The Western Bulldogs offered $320, I assumed that was the normal price and declined it lol

I literally don't use Kayo outside of the AFL season, so it will be cheaper for me to pay $35 for 6 months

  • +1

Very nice. Fyi the link says $195 plus GST so will be more like 215 but still very handy.

    • Thanks, good pick up.

    • +1

Advertising the retail price excluding gst is false advertising at the least, and probably illegal.

  • Thx, sadly I need kayo to watch some sports I like but interface is bad on my tv. I watch part of a game in reply, it crashes then forgets where I'm up to. Rant over!

    • +2

Why not get a Google Chromecast to fix the issue.

      • Great idea - I did this for my Samsung TV with Tizen. Kayo is available for Tizen but often freezes and needs to be rebooted, but it works perfectly on Chromecast.
The bonus is I can move the Chromecast to any TV, or take it with me when I travel, and I have all my streaming services!

        • Kayo and binge consistently crash on tizen os. On latest model. Hubbl /foxtel inc dont seem to be able to fix it

      • Tried casting from iPad, similar problem, and if you stop and come back later it plays from beginning rather than resuming.

        • A Chromecast with Google TV runs the apps directly on the chromecast, rather then casting from another device.

  • +8

While we're on the topic - the regular pricing for Kayo is a joke. Kayo Basic, 1 screen, no 4k is $25. Absolute garbage value considering their product and offerings, and I will take any opportunity to pay less (as do we all)

    • +1

Not to mention their app on AppleTV is hot garbage. Real Debrid and a 4K torrent has me very happy with my F1 now.

      • Someone’s gotta tell him 😬

      • Whats your go to for 4k F1 torrents? I have the Formulastremio addon but timeliness of uploads after a race have been an issue

  • I got the GWS one last year, doesn't expire until Jan.

do i get this now and wait to activate?

    • +1

I did this too thinking it would be cheaper via another team lol

    • +1

I am renewing my GWS and will get a voucher for that soon. Mine also does not expire until the end of Jan. I checked with Kayo chat and they told me that I can redeem the voucher now and it will be applied to give me 12 months from the end of my current 12 month subscription.

  • +2

If you have CBA Credit Card, its like $15 a month there for Kayo. Think its $20 for Basic.

    • Thanks will us this in Jan

    • Do we know if this is currently the cheapest way to get Basic?

      • this with Kayo Gift cards at costco

    • If you have CBA Credit Card, its like $15 a month there for Kayo

      Not true…

    • Thanks for that.

Offer ends 31/01/25, I will set a reminder to redeem it then for the NRL.

    • Thanks for the heads up, I have this offer in my account.

  • +1

    Adjusted AFL pricing is ridiculous
But as mentioned above, kayo pricing full stop is a joke

  • This is so much more expensive than last year, I'm tempted to skip the NRL next year. I haven't really had time to watch as much sport this year.

EDIT: Also why is Kayo Basic better than Kayo One?

    • +1

Basic has 4k and can do 2 devices simultanously.

  • What sports on Kayo are in 4k?

  • +9

In this day and age, with cheap bandwidth, it's criminal they charge extra for a 4K stream.

  • They now have less content and charging more?

I had it one year for free and the other year for $5, may watched 5 time max on each period.

No deal for me if over $5….

  • +3

I would say to pirate anything owned by Murdoch, but sports ain't that easy to pirate, so this seems to be a good deal for sports-lovers.

    • +1

Didn't hear it from me but vipbox.lc is actually really good quality and reliable for Linux.isos 😅

      • -1

Alright, great, Murdoch is gonna get yar-har-fiddle-dee-dee'd for his crimes against humanity.

  • Same as optus sport for the EPL…Like everything in the past few years, quality and quantity has gone south while the price has gone up. Overall value is not there. All for a software as a service product. No wonder we utilise the cost-effective "option B" eg Kodi….

  • Hawthorn AFL is a $350 Kayo Basic, $25 HawksNest Voucher, 10% off Hawks shop all year round, and a membership pack.

  • +2

Imagine paying $25 and not getting 4K. Oh, wait a minute…

  • +1

Holy crap kayo basic is so expensive. Was bad enough this year via the AFL. Definitely going to hold out as long as possible and explore options.

  • +4

Upvoted for your efforts… But man, prices are crazy haiyaaaa

  • Great work op

  • +1

    Go the Hawks!!

  • +1

While we are here does anyone know how to cancel western Bulldogs one from last year?

Do you have to call them to cancel or can you do it online.

    • +2

I think you have to call

    • +2

Had to call GWS to cancel

  • +2

    No 4K No Deal

  • +1

Still no 4K on Firestick/Cube for some reason.

  • Has foxtel lost the rights to f1 so we can get f1 tv pro here yet or what?

    • Nope though note f1tv pro is 1080p (but their 1080p is closer to kayo 4k quality than kayo 1080p)

      • Damn…
Yeah moto gp pass is the same, the 1080p is quite high bit rate, when it wants to be.

  • +3

Wow no 4K and hideously expensive. No thanks!

  • +1

Honestly iptv da way to go

    • +1

Yeah, but when there is a game you really want to watch and its playing up, its frustrating. The games in 4K on Kayo were a step up, the next best would be UK IPTV streams 1080p 50fps, but not always available. The quality difference between a 4K kayo stream and a typical 720p or 1080p iptv steam on a good tv is significant, so it really depends what you want. Having a big high quality tv panel with an average stream is not ideal. But back on point here…. Kayo prices are stupid.

    • +1

Hard to find good ones from what I have read through

      • yeah but once you're in theyre usually good - and have to keep them on the DL

  • $1 first month offer for new customers (limited time not sure when that expires).

  • -3

Anybody know of any free alternatives for watching live AFL games this season? I'm asking for a friend.

  • Anyone else getting this?

*This event currently has no seats available
We apologize - we weren't able to complete your request.

Please try again or select a different event.*

  • so can you subscribe to Kayo One & pay $10 extra/mth to upgrade? If so, you can get discount Kayo giftcards (I believe 15% off face value at Costco) add them to the $220 Illawarra Hawks & it'll be cheaper then AFL (~$322) olus you can probably drop to KayoOne in the months you don't really watch it..

  • +1

    West Coast Eagles
    Freemantle Dockers

For those West Aussies who are keen.
No better than the other AFL plans as far as I could see.

  • Unless you need the full 12 months, just sub for the regular season. 6 months of NRL with 4k is still a lot less in total cost. An extra month if you cant deal with the fta finals.

  • +4

Dumbest naming conventions ever. How is ‘Basic’ and higher grade than ‘One’.

Couldn’t they have just called in ‘one’ and ‘duo’ or something less confusing?

    • +1

No - perhaps that's because they dont want to shamelessly admit they are now presenting a 'Number Two' to Aussie sports fans with these ridiculous year-on-year pricing hikes, lack of 4K content availabiliy and disfunctional app implementation across the various platforms?
