  • Looking for a NAS server to stream my meadia files to my Apple TV running XBMC. Would do this do the trick? Will it matter running most of my files through a USB HDD attached?

Also was looking for something with Torrent support but not a necessity.

    Anyone got some recomendations

    cheers

    • want to know too.

    • this does have torrent support, although it's crappy with full of bugs. You can access the files via samba on this but as I mentioned in my post below, it's slow. Not sure about the USB HDD thing though.

    • Was thinking the same thing talbot, and can see no reason why this would not work. Plex should also work but you need a PC to be on for Plex.

as an ex-owner of this product, I advise everyone to look at other brands before making the decision. This particular model gave me nothing but trouble for the ~9 months time that I've had it. It was slow and froze up every now and then. Firmware updates are full of bugs. I would not recommend you putting important data on this. Only buy this if you can't afford anything else. But even so, I'd recommend saving up a bit longer for something better. Currently I'm using a QNAP NAS which has been extremely reliable.

  • I have one now.. still using it after 1 yr.. have no problems at all :)

The only issue i have is this is only 2bay.. would have preferred a 4bay version :)
