        Ah cool thanks

*Wtf would some one neg me for saying thank you?

  • Catch gift cards ceased being sold 21Jan (written in their email), does that mean they are also gone from all platforms where I could swap to catch gift cards, like prezzee, shopback, tcn type of things?

Still hoping to grab some discounted gift cards to nab some of the closing down deals!

  • I have no idea but recently my switch stopped charging with official but with generic usb c charger.

  • For some reason some of my gadgets (including Samsung phone) dont charge from this charger…

      From Reddit:

The Switch’s charger supports 5V/1.5A and 15V/2.6A, which is exactly what the Switch dock requires. However that is a narrow power profile, making the Switch charger a poor choice for many other devices.

    • Yeah the Nintendo switch USB C port does not comply to standard USB C specifications and the charger isn't either. Which is why people have reported bricking their switch using a non nintendo USB C charger.

I've had my MacBook battery get really hot from using the Nintendo switch charger. This is before I realised the switch adapter is actually non compliant.

  • Do they also sell official joy cons? Can only see other brands like Yuventoo etc…

    • Not anymore.

      • Too bad! Two of my joycons recently started to drift then died (I blame Mario party Jamboree) and I can't fork $120 on a new pair

        • +2

If you have some technical skills, it's not too difficult (or expensive) to replace the joysticks yourself.

          • @RichardL: Yeah I bought a replacement kit with tools, tried that and damaged the last screw on each joy cons, now can't open them anymore 😔

          • +1

@RichardL: i did it, seems okay for few months then drift again maybe my skills wasnt that good.
i remember its iddificult to take out and put back in those ribbon cables

If they have started drifting, send them to Tokyo, see how they go there.

Anyone know if this is specifically 120v?
    Or 120-240?
I would assume 120-240 but it's a bit odd that it states only 120

  • I don't even have a Switch but I'm tempted to get one.

    • Refer to above comment

    • +1

Do not get this unless you plan to use it to charge your Nintendo switch.

This is not a USB C complaint charger.

      • +1

Yeah I actually have been meaning to pick up a Switch. Not just to get the charger. 😅

I got a genuine used dock and genuine charger for $42 on fleabay. I feel lucky.

  • Ordered. Left mine in a hotel room draw over 12 months ago. Been holding out till a decent deal. Cheers!

I usually grab any usb-c charger in the house and works fine to charge. Nintendo one is somewhere though!

      • Yeah i've done the same. Just feel bad losing it. Someone got lucky and found it.

  • does it fast / superfast charge apple/samsung phones ?

    • Nope

  • Been using the $12 PD adapter from Bunnings and it’s working fine

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/871769

I think most PD adapters should work with switch

    • I have mine hooked up to this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/820069 charger into one of those USB-C 3-in-1 things with HDMI out and works fine connected to the TV. Switch dock is way too bulky I can't believe they used a similar design for Switch 2

You can get smaller docks on Amazon that harvest the internals from the original… Haven't gone that far yet though

      • +1

You are at risk of your switch breaking by using that charger with it.

    • I think most PD adapters should work with switch

      You'd think so, but no

  • Seems like catch supplies are done. Now $34 with no discount at checkout and no free onepass shipping

  • Was hoping they had the official dock on sale too. :(
