Anko 100W PD3.0 4 Port USB Wall Charger $19 C&C/in-Store @ Kmart

3261

It was very popular last time at $39, Kmart just drop the price further to $19, seems like click and collect only but stock might be hard to find, managed to order one in my local store for a pick up.

How to check stock at other stores:

  1. Click See Store info and check stock nearby
  2. Look for surrounding postcodes in area and scroll list
  3. Close the pop-up (x)
  4. Now click "Shop at X" where X is the current store
  5. Manually enter / copy and paste the suburb or postcode where you found stock and set that postcode as your preferred store to shop from. Finish by clicking Set as My Store.

You will be able to then click the Add to My bag button

      …and order cancelled/refunded.

      • Same for a single one in WA. No stock at any stores by the look of it.

  • Thanks OP, can never have too many chargers. I'll probably leave this one at work

  • +35

My brain instantly reads Anko as Anker about 50% of the time and it pisses me off lol.

    • probably made in the same factory with same parts? haha

      • +2

I'd bloody hope not given how well most of their products are received lmao. Don't jinx it man, my OCD heart can't take it :'(

    • yeah same mate. gets me everytime

    • +1

My brain reads Anker as W.anker about 50% of the time but it doesn’t really piss me off though

      • I got a bluetooth speaker and wrote a W on it just before the anker.

  • +1

I haven’t had a good track record with Kmart and cancellations

    Ordered anyways

  • Thanks op, got one.

  • Managed to CC the last one from Greensborough VIC. Fingers crossed that stock level is up to date

When I checked out it said Templestowe and South Morang might have some.

    • +8

LOL.. I was about to comment the same… I also ordered the last one in Greensborough, lets see who's order gets cancelled… :)

      • +3

Hey, I also ordered the last one in GB. Maybe we should have a GB ozb meet up lol.

      • And I got the cancellation email… :(

        • Same here.

          • @helmutiffe: Same here, this is interesting. Either there is another GB ozbargainer or the Kmart doesn't even have it in the first place.

Or maybe someone snapped it up instore?

  • got one thanks

  • Just confirming…because I doubt myself reading all those specs. This supports “fast charging” via USB-C, yes? I think it says 30W…

  • Will there be any risk of laptop damage if charging it with cheap chargers like this which are not GaN

    • +8

GaN is just a different type of charging technology that uses Gallium Nitride rather than silicon. It is more efficient and generally allows for smaller chargers. The output voltage/current should be the same.

So no risk of damage if the charger itself is decent quality. You should be looking for the Aussie C tick mark for compliant electronics on Australia (which this has). https://www.acma.gov.au/step-5-label-your-product

      • Thanks for the explanation !!

        • +1

GaN has significantly higher heat resistant so a lot of people think GaN are bad because they can be hotter but they're not.

    • This isn't a GaN charger? I was assuming it is by the apparent size on the website.

      • +1

Was going through comments from previous deal. It's not advertised anywhere as GaN charger.

  • +3

cannot be worse than heymix right?

    • +2

I have both, they are both good at charging macbook m1 and work PC. and charging phone at the same time. no fires so far (had the heymix for 3 years now)

    • -4

Assembled in the same factory by the same 5 year old Chinese kid, literally no diff

      • +4

Except when you buy Kmart products you can be pretty confident they actually meet Australian standards and will get recalled if they don't (with a full refund). Would buy Anko over Heymix any day. If enough Heymix stuff catches fire they'll just slap another name on it and rebrand.

        • +1

Yes meet Aussie standards but I bought a $12 Anko USB type C for my apple watch it would charge for 1 minute then shutoff. However it would charge everything else. Went for the return in the end, good thing was no questions asked.

  • Nearly bought at $39. I'll take a chance at $19.

  • +1

Still available Merrylands, Casula, Griffith, Dubbo, Armidale, Port Macquarie, Maitland, Forster South in NSW

  • Seems a few stores (regional VIC) around me only have 1 available. Got one at my local for C&C, wouldn't be surprised if it is cancelled due to OOS.

    • +4

      only have 1 available

      Isn't one 100W Anko enough?

      • +2

not sure about you, but 100 WAnko would last me about a year

    • Apparently, they don't really update their stock level that effectively. At least 3 of us ordered the supposedly last unit in the same store.

      • Yeah, its pretty bad. I was lucky enough to get it. Not a bad little unit and works well. Its a spare for my backpack.

  • +1

How do you C&C? There's no button. Only says This popular item has sold out online and Add to Wishlist. No other buttons.

    • +1

      change store first.

    • +1

I've added instruction to the deal.

    • Set your store from the top of the website, if it is available there or around, the 'add to bag' button should appear

  • +3

The additional sticker does not provide much confidence - "Hot parts! Wait one-half hour after switching off before handling parts."

  • Got 1 in the last deal
Tested in charging mac book air, no heating issue
    pretty happy with it

    • same here. definitely best bang for the buck

      • +1

        No pun intended?

        • non intended but now that you made me realised, i did giggle

  • Thanks OP!

  • -1

    It is Anko not Anker.

    • +3

Just like your name is conant not content

    • My brain goes there too 🫠
And, as u brought it up: Anker not (profanity), but that’s a whole other thing…

  • +5

Kmart is becoming notorious in taking online orders and then cancelling them. My past 3 orders were cancelled after 1 week.

    • Probably because they're picking stock off shelves that have likely been purchased by a customer between the time you ordered and when they've gone to pick it.

    • +1

Yep. Happened to me. Says In Stock then emailed me later saying OOS..

    • They have shocking inventory for the most part when it gets down to the final quantities. Goes both ways though as often I have found product on shelf after showing none in stock for store also.

  • -1

Kmart Marion in SA had 1 left. So I'll order 2 and see what happens…

  • Ordered one from The Pines. One remaining at Tweed City.

    • +1

I've just been into The Pines, probably 4 or 5 left on the shelf. No clearance label so unlikely to sell I would guess.

      • -1

Yup, grabbed the last 2 at The Pines tonight. They were labelled as $39 so lucky me.

  • +1

    NSW Sylvania Kmart in stock

    • Already taken champ lol

    • Just received text message. Order for 2 is ready to pick up, cheers:)

  • Ordered the last one for C&C at Maroochydore but expecting the order to be cancelled.

Edit: Order cancelled due to insufficient stock :-(

  • Showing in stock in Western suburbs in Melbourne. Grabbed one from Tarneit. Thanks OP. Great price as long as it doesn't blow up :)

  • I can imagine there will be lots of cancellations of orders!.

  • What is the advantage of GaN over this?

    • +1

GaN are much smaller in size in general which is great for portability, and potentially less heat
but in reality, many GaN adapters have overheating issues, especially those china made cheap ones

      • I have a simplecom 65w charger on order from amazon, its GaN, hoping it isn't one of the dodgy brands!

I also just bought the EFM 65w dual usb c GaN as TGGC had it at $32 collected, it feels quite heavy for its size.

  • -1

Grabbed the last 3 at Pacific Fair Gold Coast. Great stocking fillers !

  • -2

I would never risk burning my house down or damaging my devices with a charger like this from Kmart….

    • +2

I can bet there are half of the adapter burnt out issues are actually caused by bad cables
Don't always just blame on the adapter but keep using cheap cables

      • Let's hope you can get stable power delivery and it doesn't damage the battery in your devices. Let's ignore the fact that these chargers are cheap for a reason with low grade components and poor soldering leading it to short circuiting (worst case) or falling apart e.g. USB connector disintegrating (best case) after a few months of use.

    • +2

to be fair id be more worried about dust and other debris igniting around it due to the heat than it causing an electrical fire. how hot does it get exactly that it needs 1 hour to cool down and a sticker warning.

      • This is a very valid point.

My 65W GAN changer gets pretty hot after some use and it's not a cheap one.
Don't be silly and use this el cheapo charger for high power applications (e.g. charging a laptop, hand held console, high capacity battery bank), it's going to turn into a hot burning coal.

I've bought a few Anko branded electronics and none of them lasted for more than a year.

  • Thanks bought 3. My store had dozens at the bottom of the shelf. Easy to miss.

  • Got 1 cc, hoping it's honored

  • "Can't use Onepass I will pass". "Only Onepass I will make it as a pass." ~ my slogan for the future

    Most out of stock anyway

    • I wonder if Onepass provides a complementary 'swoooshing' sound as the promised express 2 Hour collection deadline for C&Cs slides by! lolz

      • well it makes Onepass kind of pointless, there's no stock to collect anyway. Express or not express.

        Better yet free delivery

      • Onepass through moving goalposts

Seems they've changed the timeframes in the email i have now received
"Thanks for shopping with us. Before coming to collect, please wait for an email/SMS notification confirming your order is ready. Availability is confirmed only when we pack your item/s.
        Collection timeframes
Orders placed before 12pm will be ready by 4pm on the same day. Orders placed after 12pm will be ready the next day.
K hub stores can take up to 2-7 days to have your item/s ready to collect."

Suppose i'm lucky to have seemingly scored the item and just need to wait a bit to collect

  • Click & Collect ordered 50min ago - Ready for collection :)

    Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • Ordered one for C&C.

    Odds of burning my.house down?

  • Spoke to in-store staff at Capalaba (QLD) and they have approx. 3-4 left in stock as of right now. Suggest ringing and getting someone in store to put them aside for pickup as opposed to click and collect!

  • +3

    Unresolved Reports
    1 for Insufficient Quantity

Idiot of the week award goes to….? You know there's more than one Kmart store in Australia right? My store alone had over a dozen.

  • +1

Cheers OP. Grabbed 2. Great price for 100W PD.
