    Made by the Cheesecake Factory.

    • Yes, same picture on packaging of The Cheesecake Factory at Costco. Now cheaper at Woolworths.

I never liked Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes, always liked baked cheesecake better. Factory cheesecakes are wet, like actually eating cream cheese. It won't stop me from eating a whole Cheesecake Factory cake though…

    • That sounds like a bad thing (probably is 🀣).

  • +6

For $10 might be worth a try. $15 is too much and $30 RRP is outrageous.

    • Depending on your store, could be $3.75.

    • +2

Yeah, I bought it last time when it was $15 to give it a try and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. Won't be going back even at $3.75, I'll take the Coles New York Style cheesecake or their Blueberry cheesecake any day over this.

      • I've been making my own baked ricotta cheesecakes when Woolworths marks down the ricotta by 90%. Always taste great, just as good as what you get at Papa Pasticceria in Sydney for $40+ each.

        • +1

          Care to share the recipe?

          • +2

@lbreav: Probably a secret recipe handed down through many generation of YouTubers?πŸ˜…

        • Better than Papas that's a bold claim, I would like to try your cheese cake.

Got mine for $3.75 this week in South East Queensland

    • Bargain! Was it on clearance?

      • +1

        Quick sale yellow tag.

    • Wow that's definitely a bargain! How would you rate it?

      • Still in the freezer, won't be having it till next week

    • +1

Gee, got it for $3.75 in South East Queensland. I wonder how many stores are in SEQ?

  • +6

These are very nice. For $10 you are getting more value and a better quality product compared to a Sara Lee.

    • Thanks. How's the biscuit base compared to Sara Lee? That's my favourite part of Sara Lee lol.

      • +1

tried the original, the base is horrible

      • +1

It's the main nitpick I have. No issue with the base flavour-wise. It's rather inoffensive. It's just very thin.

  • For $10, it's probably worth it. At full price, not. I can't remember the biscuit base, but remembered it was decidedly one note for the flavour. I would probably get a discounted Sara Lee next time.

    • Sara Lee has a shortbread type of biscuit base. I like this and now discounted at Coles.
The Dream Factory uses Graham cracker crumbs for the base.

Can confirm these are good for your soul not for waist. Extremely rich

Birkdale qld has it for $4.50 but best before jan 2025. I assume when restocked it will go back up in price due to longer best by date.

  • Can't seem to add it to my online order πŸ˜’

Made in the USA. I would stay away. The amount of preservatives and artificial crap in this would be horrendous.

    • +9

I don't get how we have ice cream made in the US and icy poles made in China all available in our supermarkets at low cost. The price to send chilled food from the other side of the world must be huge. But more than that is the economic cost to local business and farmers and the environmental cost of such a ridiculously long food chain.
      Buy local food.
Support Australian jobs, farmers and the environment.
I buy plenty of shit from China, but food is different and yes I realise that's probably pretty hypocritical, but so what? I'm not buying frozen cheesecakes from the other side of the planet. I'm buying cheap tech made in factories with zero health and safety and indentured labour. But yeah, it's all fcked, but some choices are easier than others.
      End of rant.

      • +2

Cornettos or Drumsticks are from ITALY.

      • +11

Agreed. I avoid all "Made in China" food at all costs.
So many lollies, tomato pastes, misc daily items I'd rather pay more for locally produed.

Woolworths Corn Flakes is from Poland.

Its not as expensive as you think to ship stuff globally. I say this as someone who does freight/logistics deals for companies. You can cram SO much onto a pallet and so many pallets into a container that the cost per 'unit' often becomes something acceptable.

So then if you're making savings based on ingredient costs and not to mention Australia's incredibly high labour rates vs most of the world, you're still coming out ahead as a business.

Don't disagree at all with your 'support Australian' view. I agree. Just providing some context around why global shipping is not that expensive if you can save money in all the other areas of the supply chain that make up a higher % of the overall cost of making the product

        • +1

Thanks for taking the time to share the insights. I guess that's indeed the way of the world, produce at lowest cost to maximise profits, nothing revolutionary there, more the surprise that you can ship frozen foodstuffs such distances and still make a profit.

  • The website says half price $30 rrp - save $20… πŸ˜†

      Aussie maths for you.

  • Too sweet!

    • +2

Couldn't eat it because it's too sweet. Ended up using for milkshakes.

    • No such a thing for me.

I just bought the chocolate mousse flavour for ten, hopefully it’s good.

  • +1

The Plain one is okay , the Raspberry and white chocolate is really nice .

  • +1

Perth ppl: Stirling Central, Wanneroo Rd only had about 3 of the chocolate. Didn't see other varieties.

Alexander Heights had about 8 or 9 of the White Choc & Raspberry. Use by date of Feb 2025. Didn't notice other flavours.

Had the White Choc one at Christmas. Was good if you like a Philly cheesecake.

    • Was it $10

      • or was it $3.25

      • It was $10 in both stores.

  • +1

    Thanks OP

$30 is marketing BS to make you think you are getting a bargain when you pay a fair price of $10.

    • +2

They are all at it. Jack up the RRP then do faux 50% off deals.

Grocery price cycle is like the petrol price cycle.

Aldi has a Oreo knock off at $1.49 now. The half price deals at Colesworth is $1.40. Probably a bit more now after price jacking.

Things getting a bit wild in this country.

  • For a discount it may be worth it but I expected lots when I bought for $15, for a $30 cake. Its actually really small! Only enough to serve about 3-4 people a fairly small piece. not anything special either but for a cheaper price maybe worth it!

    • +2

Cheesecakes are very dense/rich. You're not supposed to stuff yourself.

      Serves 5 in my opinion.

      • +2

        Challenge accepted.

  • it's so sweet i couldn't eat it. I gave it away to the neighbours.

  • Very mediocre and overly sweet product. At least Sara Lee products are cheap and give me a hit of nostalgia. Not worth $10, but $3.75 gets you some pretty cheap calories.

  • I agree with much of the user experiences here, not really worth it even for $10.

You can easily make a far better cheesecake yourself with a basic recipe.

I don't think it's any better or worse than your average frozen cheesecake.

P.S. If you're ever in the US, go visit the Cheesecake Factory and be flabbergasted by the menu choices (actual food, not just desserts).

  • Got the chocolate and original for $15 each last week. I found the chocolate too sweet but the original was quite nice!

Won't get anymore though since it's abit sweet

    • Did you try a strawberry sauce with it? I use the frozen strawberries with a bit of caster sugar mixed together when my better half makes a homemade cheesecake. Adds that fresh tartness.

  • I considered it at $15, but passed due to the margerine and palm oil ingredients. But I might give it a go at $10.

    • Nah don't bother, as someone said above get the Coles version, seems way more legit anyway.

we bought this one quick sale like $4 bargain last month. eat straight away taste good but you can feel for the waist. who tried this coles brand?

how it is compare to Dream Factory?

    • +1

Dream factory isn't very good tbh, coles one just has to be better.

Unrelated, the homemade Coles apple pies in the refrigerated section are brilliant

  • -4

$10 including the cost of shipping this refrigerated from USA? The system is broken. Support local farmers - buy cream cheese and make your own. You can control the level of sugar, and it's 100% better than anything you'll buy ready made from a supermarket.

  • +1

I bought $10 and $15 for couple times. TBH, I don't think it is worth $30. I have never had cheese cake in their shops.

    • Most people haven't since their shops are in the US….. the Cheesecake Shop isn't these cheesecakes.

  • Just tried it, not a big fan, its a bit chewy - felt like it was mixed in with flour or something giving that strange texture.

  • +3

Got one and tried thanks to ozb, and gotta say $10 is about right, anymore and I wouldn't bother.

  • Loaded with bovaer?

  • The chocolate one isn’t bad.
