Is this in the freezer section?

  • +3

Yea in my local Woolworths frozen section. I defrost in fridge for an hour and comes out with a nice semi frozen texture. I put some fresh cut strawberries too

    • Once thawed in the ref, how many days do you need to consume it? I prefer my cheesecakes to last 1 to 2 weeks lol

      • It doesn't say on packaging, while frozen I was able to cut into slices (serves 6 on pack) quite easily and only consume what I wanted defrosted.

E.g cut 2 slices and place in fridge and put the rest back in freezer

The pack also mentions do not refreeze once thawed

how many days do you need to consume it?

How many can you eat in one sitting, and not feel disgust at oneself?

        • +3

Stand up whilst eating. Everyone knows food doesn’t have a calorie value if you stand up. :)

        • +1

It lists '1 serve' as one eighth of the cake, which has 17g of fat and 20.4g of sugar… Cheesecake is not forgiving at all.

          • +1

@FXx: It is the perfect ratio of fat to sugar and hence your body just says give me more…

But the story doesn’t end there. The team also found that simultaneously activating both the fat and sugar circuits creates a powerful synergy. “The activation of separate fat or sugar circuits can increase motivated feeding behavior, but strikingly, the combination of fats and sugars synergize to supra-additively increase the activity of neurons along the gut-reward circuit, increase dopamine release, and promote overeating independently of calories,” they stated. “It’s like a one-two punch to the brain’s reward system,” said de Lartigue. “Even if the total calories consumed in sugar and fats stays the same, combining fats and sugars leads to significantly more dopamine release and, ultimately, overeating in the mice.”

            Good thing we're not mice…

  • Is it like the Costco one that is pre-sliced?

    • +1

I think it's the same, but didn't come pre sliced. I have tried the Costco one before. This is smaller

      • How much is the Costco one please

        • Costco one is $30 for 1.8kg so its cheaper than this one. My fave cheesecake.

    • yeah not pre cut. its way smaller but has other flavours
costco have the normal cheesecake back in stock so im guess woolies are clearing this out. i have seen messina cakes popping up in woolies too ( next to these)

what the due dates too, the ones i got were in jan 2025

Wish the base of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake wasnt dark chocolate, kinda ruins it.
Might buy the plain one and spread biscoff ontop

  • +5

woolies bakery fridge's biscoff cheesecake is 10/10

To that Chocolate Mousse Cake I just have this to say: Get in my belly!

    Thanks OP.

  • I’ll have a look assuming there is actually any stock left. Strikes here in VIC have basically left most of the shelves in my local Woolies about 80% empty.

    • Oh is that what's going on. Thanks

    • Just like during covid

      • +3

Worse than covid, but all power to the warehouse workers.

Has been on sale frequently in past 2 months. But is a great cheesecake. Richer than sara lee.

    • Yup. I bought 1 last month.

    • It's richer than SaraLee but it's too sweet for us. It's lack of the creamy milk aromatic compared to the Japanese Hokkaido Cheesecake. The Woolworths brand Raspberry cheesecake cube taste much better imo.

      • After having Uncle Tetsus Cheesecake, anything Western is inferior.

Hmmm. I’m always about hesitant about Asian desserts. If your selection of dessert includes ingredients like corn and beans I’m reserving judgement until I try any option.

Is this a BAKED cake that has been frozen .. or just the inferior refrigerated variety please??

    • Wut

  • How does it compare to the fresh ones from cheescake shop

    • I easily prefer this over the cheesecake shop, has a a nice creamy texture and the biscuit base is thicker.

    • Lol "fresh"

  • I got hooked on baked cheesecake after that recent cheesecake shop deal. Maybe 50% off is enough of a special occasion.

  • Bought the Mousse cake one.will be interesting to try.

    • Not bad but the base does seem a tad soggy. Certainly worth a look at $15.

Discovered this is better if you eat it frozen.

  • +1

Me and the kids destroyed one in a sitting, great stuff

  • Saw this, went to Woolies asap, no original left at my local :( got the raspberry instead

    • Have tried it…i give it a 5/10. The fake cream on top and below average biscuit base kills it

  • Better than their fresh biscoff?

    • No, they are much better and bigger than the Dream Factory. The Biscoff is still frozen though, as are most of the cakes in the woolies fridge.

  • Have they been able to stock them? My local woolies looks like its at pandemic levels.

  • It's not a bad cheesecake, but I certainly wouldn't pay more than $15 for it. It's more reminiscent of a Sara Lee cheesecake, with a very soft artificial texture. For $5 more, you'd be better off getting a cake from the fridge near the bakery section. My favourite (although it is only sold in two-slice packs) is the macadamia cheesecake.

  • Thanks! Got 4. :b

  • Gave the raspberry one a try. Sweet and dense like Cheesecake Shop ones. Decent option in supermarkets, but would never pay full price. Even $15 is a stretch. Sara Lee ones are half price at Coles this week for 1/3 of the price!

  • I ended up grabbing one, absolutely not worth full price but its a decent Cheesecake, better than I thought it would be. A step up from the Sara Lee ones.
