I have a Lebara 365-day plan activated on my Apple iPhone and an Apple Watch that supports its own SIM. Currently, if my phone is nearby, I can take calls on my watch. However, I’m wondering if it’s possible to have either a new SIM number or the existing number activated on the Apple Watch. I understand that Lebara doesn’t support this feature, so I will likely need a new SIM from another provider. Could you confirm which providers offer SIM plans specifically for Apple Watch?

I think JB used to be an exception being not an MVNO, but not cheap.
This has been brought up over and over, here and elsewhere. Options:
break out of the Apple Walled garden, and move to Android. Unfortunately while I love Android, their watches are not as good as Apple's.
get a kids' plan. $99/year, but will limit the functionality of your watch severely:

That is really only meant for your kids who have a watch, but not their own smartphone.
AFAIK above poster is correct.
No mvno’s is offer it
It had been this way for years. Seems very anticompetitive but that’s the situation
We came across the same issue - I think the answer is that there are no cheaper solutions and that you have to use Telstra or Optus directly on a postpaid plan (no resellers) - happy to be corrected though
