  • ….They even paid me… If they weren’t selling my data, I’d almost feel guilty about it😄

    • +1

You don't have to "use" their service. Just do it for the ~$50 profit. Sign up, disconnect and forget. Collect profit after 3 months.

      • Same :D

    • Who says they’re selling your data?

  • Gave up, tried on iPad, laptop and computer. Payment error/declined across multiple cards, tried on 2x email addresses both work and home. Not worth the $40 profit.

    • Need a different email (email with + doesn't work, normal gmail is okay). Try to delete browsing data (time range: all time) in the browser settings, but exclude saved passwords for example.

Email like callum+ogrady won't work, but [email protected] or [email protected] is good to go. I used the dot trick with gmail today.

Payment is best through Paypal or virtual card like Wise or Revolut Disposable card (single use). I usually disable my cards until I need them for shopping, also can delete my Wise virtual card. Repeat for any shopping ;-) This is the safest way. Merchants won't know our real card numbers. No worries with data leaks from any merchants or payment processors.

      • normal gmail is okay

I've had 2 normal gmail addresses that didn't work (no + and no . used)

With PayPal the caveat that you might pay more due to them charging you in AUD at a bad conversion rate

        • I put the same email for default email in Paypal and use Wise virtual card in PayPal. I have USD balance in Wise account. So, Paypal charged me exactly the same amount from PureVPN, no conversion.

I have several gmail accounts and checked there's one that I haven't use for PureVPN account and that Gmail account has dot in between. No problem for me.

Maybe try to delete browsing data (all time) in browser settings (exclude saved passwords). I used Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for this deal.

          • @neoleo: Just trying to say that there are normal gmail addresses that won't work.
Nothing to see with browser history.

I put the same email for default email in Paypal and use Wise virtual card in PayPal. I have USD balance in Wise account. So, Paypal charged me exactly the same amount from PureVPN, no conversion

You might want to add that in the advice to use PayPal, as this might not be clear to others. And then they will get the bad PayPal conversion

            • @johnmelb: I wonder what kind of normal gmail accounts that won't work, unless if they have been used for previous accounts maybe 🤷

It's best for anyone to have at least Wise/Revolut account for international transactions.

I wonder if anyone use Google Pay with credit card to add money to Revolut for example. Is it normal payment or cash advance? Just curious.

      • Email like callum+ogrady won't work, but [email protected] or [email protected] is good to go.

Those are two different email addresses.
The period trick would be something like "[email protected]". The period goes in between existing characters. The "+" trick you add characters to the base address.

FYI, the "+" worked for me with Pure VPN.

        • The + trick still works for you? Hmm, I'll try this trick again next time 😀. Last time it didn't work with Proton mail.

          • @neoleo: I always try it, my base email+"companiesname"@gmail.com.
For multiples I add a number at the end, eg [email protected]

Unfortunately a free service means you are the product, like gmail that we all use.

Now sometimes even a negative amount.

    • It's not free though. Regardless you'll still be the product like in most services (free or otherwise).

    • +1

You don't have to "use" their service. Just do it for the ~$50 profit. Sign up, disconnect and forget. Collect $50 profit after 3 months.

      • Same ;-)
        Just for the profit

  • But is it real "Pure"?

  • Got double charged from PureVPN, they refused to acknowledge that they had. Successfully got refunded from CC for the error'd transaction.

Then cashback denied from PureVPN for the one that had gone through.

    Will never use again.

    • @tightarse Will PureVPN deny the cashback after one month which the cashback time frame is 3 months?

      • Hi. Not sure I understand the question sorry.

        • My purchase got tracked and if I don't cancel the service will they refuse to give out the cashback as Mrfuku mentioned?I dont want after 31 days and cashback got rejeceted

          • @yuisakas: Thanks. If it's tracked in your account, they will only decline cashback if you cancel the order. I'm not sure what happened in mrfuku's case as from what he states, he was charged twice and I have no idea what was refunded as we don't have visibility of cancellations. Hope this helps.

  • How does PureVPN compare to Surfshark? Currently have the latter, due for renewal soon.

    • Fun fact: I only sign up for the profit. It's not a requirement to use their service to get the cashback.

  • Can I cancel the subscription rightaway or have to wait after the cashback is paid?

    • I dont think you will get paid if you cancel rightaway as they have refund you full amount, the question is after 31days if they deny the cashback what can we do from there as comment above said he got denied.

      • +4

I think by cancel he means 'cancel auto renewal".

I generally wait until cashback is paid. Don't want to tempt the cashback gods

Bought this deal on 23 August last year for $188. Cashback of $244 approved and withdrawn exactly 3 months later on 23 November. Disabled PayPal automatic payment afterwards. Didn't even log in the VPN once or download the app.

    • My purchase from SB was successfully paid out in just under 4 months

Also, key headsup for people - right after I got my cash out sorted, I cancelled the auto renewal but PureVpn tried charging me anyways. I fortunately didn’t get charged though coz I keep a very low balance on my Bano account.

      • Good man. Doublestack, iykyk 💪

    • I’m wondering how you got close to the 130%? Assuming you’re talking about this deal.

I’ve just purchased mine, 28 Degrees is reporting $77.80 charged. TCB is reporting $97.58 tracked. It’s a tick over 125%.

      • I actually had USD balance in my PayPal so I paid with that to avoid currency conversion fees. $188 is what's reported as the purchase price in my TCB account. $129.95 USD was the actual amount I paid.

        • My TCB is stating the purchase price was $75.06. 28 degrees doesn't charged any foreign transaction fees so what's reported and what is charged is different. Which is often (always?) the case for VPN deals.

  • +1

Here we go again ;-) @noelhoi

My purchase has been tracked in 46 minutes based on email from PureVPN and Topcashback. Always use a different email for new account and Paypal for me.

I didn't see this deal last month. Glad to get this again, just for the profit :P

  • Thanks OP, all tracked.

  • How do I check whether TopCashback tracked my transaction? i never get tracked.

    • You’ll get an email shortly after you have made your purchase or alternately login to your account and go through the log.

    • If tracking has been successful, it will appear here after 90 minutes or so.

      • thanks, if I haven't used my account for 1 year, will the account still be alive for tracking?

        • Provided you can log in to your account and click out, then yes.

      • Hello, it's been 14 hours, and my transaction still hasn't been tracked. This issue has also occurred with some of my previous transactions this week (I've recorded videos of all my transactions just in case). Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

        • If you’re having tracking issues, these tips may help. There’s many reasons it could be failing, including the setup of your router/firewall. Try using a clean browser with mobile data (no wifi) and see if that helps.

          • @tightarse: Nothing has changed from my end. I dont use Brave. UblockOrigin is turned off for these websites. Still no tracking so far :(

            • @akafinal: The only way to know that uBlock is not affecting tracking is to not have it installed in the first place, irrespective if you believe it’s turned off. Don’t forget, even if you’ve disabled it for TCB and PureVPN, there’s affiliate networks/sites in between that require untethered access. As I said, use a clean browser with no plugins. If it hasn’t tracked yet, it won’t, so you’re far better off cancelling. Cheers.

Are we able to buy using a vpn to another country to avoid gst and still claim cashback?

Wondering how we could do that though and still have cashback track

    • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.

    • Can't you just manually select a different country? No need to use VPN for that.

      • Haven’t tried get, but happy to hear if it works

      • Not in PureVPN website. I think everyone must pay the same in USD.

  • Got error message "Error Detected Unfortunately, we cannot process your request at the moment." - Tried on both Paypal and Wize Credit card.

    • I'm getting the same error right now. Tried on two of my credit cards. Will try again later.

    • +1

Try a different normal email address like gmail and delete browsing data (all time) in your browser (exclude saved passwords).

I put the different email as default email in Paypal too and use Wise virtual card in PayPal.

I use Chrome mobile browser (no extension/add-ons anyway) for most cashback transactions.

Read my previous comment in first page too and johnmelb's comments:

      • Thanks, yes had to use one of my other gmail address. Did not work for my goto spam email address I always.

  • I bought from the last deal. @tightarse does it take a while to pop into the account?

    • Please see last two paragraphs here.

  • +1

Have purchased 10+ PureVPN subscriptions through SB, CR and TCB since the year before last and all tracked and paid

    • Same for the many same deals of this VPN :P

Not bad to use the profit for other deals or savings.

    • Can you use a . In your Gmail address to be a new customer each time?

      • Yes, I used 2 dots today as it's one of my gmail address anyway ;-)

      • or a + ie. [email protected]

    • by any chance have you paid with same PayPal account for more than a single sub?

got some USD balance i'd like to use and can add multiple emails to my paypal but fear it may be rejected as paypal offer ways to show PureVPN i'm not new customer

of course, i could offer my payment details to my pet hamster who happens not to have its own Debit Card

      • New customer isn't determined by payment method and is via new account i.e. new email address.
CB is only one per TCB customer per 30days.

      • +1

Have tried the same card and all went through. Haven’t tried the same PayPal account though

  • Do you have an Apple TV app, like NordVPN? Tubi improves drastically with a USA VPN.

  • What's the go with people saying they've been double charged previously? Is it better to use a virtual card?

    • I've only heard about the double charge today from one person. I don't have a virtual card but if you have one, then you can use it.

    • Maybe Paypal is better than card, hopefully no risk of double charged through PayPal.

      • Can you use a virtual card such as Wise or Revolut with PayPal?

        • Yes, this is what I do usually.

  • @tightarse any idea why no matter what I do on the website my click through to PureVPN only appears as a "browsed" merchant, not a visited one?

Already tried a brand new Chrome profile (no extensions), Internet via my phone 4G, no luck…

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/140136/119137/screensh…

  • Tracked in about 45 mins.

    • Paid $109.95 USD, tracked $223.75 AUD.

      • about 126%

  • Mine tracked too, $223.75 tracked, charged $183.75 on my card.

    • about 122%, dose your card charge international transaction fees?

      • +1

ANZ ff black, looks like it does 3% int transaction fee. Probably shouldve used PayPal instead.

        • Nope, PayPal would have charged you 4.5% so even worse.

  • Purchased this morning and still hasn't tracked. Planning to just get a refund. @tightarse, would it be ok just purchase a new one after getting a refund? Would that cause an issue with 'one purchase per member every 30 days'?

    • me too. Untracked, although the system did notice i clicked the merchant. never get tracked. that's why I don't like to use tcb

    • Lodge a manual claim instead?

      • +1

No, you should ask refund in that case.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16174135/redir

Also important to remember that should tracking fail for whatever reason, please cancel using their free 31-day money-back guarantee policy. No point lodging a claim to possibly have it rejected by PureVPN as attributed elsewhere.

    • +1

Yes, I had tracking issue last time.
And then purchased again and it tracked and claimed on the meantime (I did take a different plan so I would know which one tracked, if it did)

The 30 days is regarding tracking twice under same account. I thought I read last time a second purchase would just not track (if within 30 days).

  • +1

$178.4 charged, $223.75 tracked. On to the mrs’ acc~

    • If it's same household/IP, they may ban your account just FYI (even if it's a separate person)
