Is this eligible on the 5-year plan?

    • Seconding this. Can anyone confirm?

      • +1

I got cashback claim rejected for 5 yr plan three month after purchase

        • +1

Rejected by which cashback company, Topcashback? Did you ask them why?

        • How and why?

        • Was it tracked or missing cashback? Which cashback company? Shopback?

    • +1

Few months ago I got the cashback from Cashrewards for 5 year plan which is Standard plan, not Max plan. Max plan didn't exist previously.

Don't use Shopback for this PureVPN cashback as it didn't track mine previously. Maybe Shopback is not good for bigger transaction like this one, maybe only good for small transactions.

I always use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone and never fail with any cashback transactions except this PureVPN through Shopback.

I think I'll try this PureVPN cashback through TopCashback by choosing 5 year Standard plan, not Max plan.

      • I previously used Shopback for PureVPN and I got paid out fine, it was just slow. When you click through Topcashback there is only the option for the Standard plan for 5 years, no Max.

        • Good for you that previously Shopback paid it. But maybe it has become worse because of change in staffing and maybe other issues too

          • @neoleo: This was purchased back in November last year. Fast forward to earlier this year the rep was responsive here and chasing up the slow confirmations (but I don't know if anything has changed)

        • I just got confirmation email tracked from Cashrewards for Priceline 20% cashback today. Always good to use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions.

No purchase found from Shopback when I purchased this PureVPN, even after few days. Only this one has failed for cashback.

        • i never got from Shopback, so end up cancelling on 28th day

        • TopCashback hasn't tracked my MyDeal purchase for two weeks now, and their customer service just tells me to wait for 2-3 months. I'm so frustrated that I won't be using TopCashback anymore. I've heard other people have had similar problems with ToCashBack, especially for larger amounts.

          • @WestAussie: Opposite experience from me. This deal tracked after 45 mins. Everytime I have contacted them for missed tracking they have compensated me. I've had worse with the other 2 cashback sites.

          • @WestAussie: Do you have the app installed by chance? Can't remember who posted it but had the same issue with shopback and it was the app (mydeal) that caused the issue.

            • +1

@dazza826: That's why I only use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions.

          • @WestAussie: I only use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions. No problem with TopCashback and Cashrewards for me. All good.

    • Free refund within 31d. Guess i’ll just wing the 5Yr Max and refund if not tracked

      • Yeah free refund. So, do you think Max plan does not include upsold products? Maybe because add-ons are separate and considered upsold products.

        • I got cashback before for the Max plan (2 Years). The excluded upsold products should only be the ones listed as Add-ons

    • In the past, probably two years ago, I got 4 or 5 years and cashback for the full amount.
Pure VPN has improved significantly in terms of the app options and speeds.
There have been concerns that they might have shared data from a costumer following FBI investigation or something (Google it). PureVPN has provided an official explanation that might be enough for some, and maybe not enough for others.

      • Tempting, I only use vpn when trying to buy gc from turgame or G2A. Don’t see the point of paying for vpn anymore.

        • Just for the profit ;-)

    • Signed up with nordvpn couple days ago and haven't tracked in my account yet, not sure if this works…..

      • Haven't got tracking confirmation from cashback company after few days? Better cancel it and get refund from NordVPN.

        Golden rule for me:
        TopCashback: same day tracking
        Cashrewards: same day tracking
Shopback: 2-3 days or according to confirmation date. More than this, cancel and get refund.

I always use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions. I guess people who got failed trackings use Apple devices or desktop. Could be successful or failed in tracking in my opinion.

  • are they basically giving money back to use their vpn service ?

    • +1

Cheaper than spamming Google ads where it can be $60 per sale.

    • I don't recommend to use the VPN, just buy it for the profit :P

Maybe okay for streaming or other use cases

      • +1

PureVPN is blocked by every streaming app
It's also basically blocked from using Google searches, it makes you solve really long captchas every time

  • Did this for cash rewards already unfortunately

    • Buy a new new plan from a new account. I bought 2 separate plans from cashrewards and shopback. Got money from both.

      • I got this from Cashrewards but Shopback didn't tracked it or maybe deliberately says no purchase found. I got refund from PureVPN. Maybe I'll try this with TopCashback.

I always use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions. Only Shopback failed for this big amount of money (5 year plan). No problem with previous smaller transactions in Shopback.

    https://www.purevpn.com/5-year-special

Can I select 5 year plan and pay 199 USD and get the 130% cashback or there is catch for specific plan?

    • Not sure about this Max plan.

      "exclude upsold products"

Max Plan includes Password Manager, etc. but Standard plan is the basic plan without Password Manager etc. There are other separate add-ons but these are not eligible for cashback.

    • +1

@tightarse can we get confirmation if this is eligible? TIA 🙏

    • +1

If you actually click through the Topcashback link they remove the option for the Max plan for 5 years. Only the Standard plan is available for 5 years at US$129.95

      • Do u rmbr if they charge u VAT/Sales Tax 10% like how they did with my Surfshark order?

        • +1

They didn't charge me VAT and Topcashback tracked at full price. They probably detect the country you are signing up from automatically.

          • @wangasm: Just purchased via Chrome browser on android. How long till it tracks on TopCashback?

  • Am I tripping or do you litterally get a cash profit on this?

    • Of course profit. I got it from previous Cashrewards cashback

  • +2

If a company is paying you to use their products, there must be a catch.

I don't know if this is true or not. On one hand, they are helping to prevent crimes; on the other hand, they are keeping logs of their users and providing them to the FBI when asked.

    https://torrentfreak.com/purevpn-logs-helped-fbi-net-alleged…

    • +8

If they pay you to use their product, you are the product.

  • Would not recommend. If you use this with Wireguard, the wireguard settings reset every 30 mins making it useless.

    • +2

Would not recommend for its actual functionality. How bout just for the cashback?

      • Just for the cashback for me

  • "Error Detected
Unfortunately, we cannot process your request at the moment.”
tried twice for 5 year standard plan, same error

    • yeah change card & browser nothing works. seems tough to profit this time🤨

    • +1

Did you try through a browser? I use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback transactions.

For example in Chrome - Settings - Privacy and security - Clear browsing data - Advanced - All Time for Time range. Then only tick:
      ✓ Cookies and site data
      ✓Cached images and files
      ✓ Site settings

Use new/different email and better use Paypal maybe. You can put many different emails in Paypal and set default email too. In PayPal I used new virtual card from Wise that can be deleted and get another new virtual card (max 3 virtual cards, delete, repeat).

    • +1

I had the same issue. Found the solution was to not use my "disposable" email address and to use a standard gmail one instead.

      • Thanks, used disposable gmail and it worked 😉

  • -2

is this monthly payment? if so is it 130% cashback for just the first month?

    • +2

There are options to pay for the full 1 year, 2 years and 5 years. Check the fine print and order summary for the actual cost. It just shows the monthly cost to make it look cheaper.

  • +1

I wouldn't recommend this. Gave it a shot last time it popped up and it didn't track. The VPN itself is terrible, too. Ended up swapping back to NordVPN.

    • What makes it terrible?

      • +1

Freakin slow, for web browsing anyway.

        • This and it just wasn't doing what it was supposed to, anyway. Couldn't bypass geo-blocking, etc.

  • +2

Beware, my friend tried to cancel her subscription with this mob and they charged a renewal fee anyway, despite acknowledging the cancellation emails.

    • -1

then avoid last minute rush. I emailed for cancellation of two accounts years in advance and received confirmation already. of course after receiving cashback.

      • -1

        one month in advance..

        • +2

Only use PayPal, so you can remove automatic payment in PayPal. You can also claim the money back through PayPal if there's early renewal. I got my money back from PayPal after Uber charged 1 day early for UberOne free trial.

Or use virtual card that can be disabled or removed like Wise virtual cards (max 3 virtual cards). I can delete these 3 virtual cards and get another 3 new virtual cards in my Wise account. Useful to avoid auto renew or something similar. Repeat ;-)

        • -1

It dosent make sense…once cancelled they send confirmation email saying your service is cancelled.

          • @will05: If you want to get the profit, only cancel after you get the cashback or cancel through Paypal automatic payment. Last time my purchase of this through Shopback didn't track or Shopback deliberately says no purchase found. So, I asked for refund from PureVPN through email.

But my previous purchase of this VPN through Cashrewards was successfully tracked and already withdrawed the profit :) Only cancel through PayPal automatic payment.

            • @neoleo: 1.When you try to purchase tcb site will say " your visit is recorded " thats your pre purchase confirmation.
2.Wait for at least 91 days to get your cashback then send an email to cancel. In my case i did it after six months.
3.Now last step to check in paypal, go payments - bills… if you see round or recurring sign against payer, it means your auto subscription is on.in this case " gzsystems ( purevpn) click on cancel subscription , and you off the hook.

              • +1

@will05: Yes, I removed the automatic payment in Paypal

    • Good thing my CC will expire before the 5 year plan renewal hah.

  • +7

Paid for the 5-year plan which after conversion fees was $194.10 AUD. Checked my Topcashback earnings page about half hour after the payment and there is a pending payment of $244.40 AUD. $50.30 profit.

    • Was there VAT/Sales Tax 10% included in the purchase price ?
Also do you think they’d reimburse full $194.10 when u asked for refund in case cashback doesnt track?

      • +2

Looking at the invoice on the website, it is shown as follows:
        - 5 year subscription plan $129.95
        - VAT $0.00
It looks like there is 31 days to get a refund. Topcashback tracked the purchase in about half hour.

        • +1

One more qn, going into your My Account, can you see an option to cancel your subscription from your end, or do you have to contact support to cancel. I need to know before purchasing, TIA mate! 🙏

          • +1

@noelhoi: Looks like you would need to do it through the chat.

            • @smirk10111: You can cancel the subscription yourself after some time has passed (I don't remember how long it takes). I would not cancel it straight away anyway in case they use that as an excuse to reject your cashback.

          • +1

@noelhoi: Last time I used email to cancel it. You can also chat customer service.

      • May I know which bank you used? Do we have to pay conversion fees on Cba/Ubank's debit card

        • Charged to my ING account

          • @smirk10111: I used my Ubank charged $194.1 and tracked after half an hour. Sweet as

    • payment method please ?

      • I used Apple Pay.

    • PayPal charged me $202

      • Yeah me too. Guess we f***ed up coz we didnt change to “charge in USD”. Oh well the profit is still way more than covers it. Lesson for next time

        • Can someone explain more how to do charge in usb?

          • @diver18: Well actually I did NOT f***ed up, because somehow this time it did NOT give me an option to pay in original currency (USD), so i just has to choose the card, then Agree and continue and then it paid itself. Normally, at checkout in Paypal’s platform you’ll be able to choose if u want to get charged in original currency or AUD. If it gives u the option, ALWAYS choose original, since Paypal’s auto-conversion is shythouse.

smirk got charged in USD I assume because Apple Pay does NOT auto convert?

            • @noelhoi: Just tried to pay via paypal and there's no currency options! So cancelled out of it. But ridiculous having to use paypal exchange rates.

              • @junet: If you have Revolut, you can add a Reovlut card to PayPal to pay with Revolut's exchange rate instead. Usually it's better than PayPal's

                • +1

@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa: I have a bankwest zero with no international fees so was using that. Paypal seem to auto convert USD to AUD with their exchange rates, ends up being $202 not $194. Was wanting to use paypal to easily cancel the subscription later on.

          • +1

@diver18: Plug in USB and wait for it to charge

      • Same here. However, I used my MasterCard directly with a $200 balance, but it claimed to have insufficient funds. So, I'm guessing it's the same issue either with Paypal or not.

  • +5

One of the worst vpn apps I’ve used.

  • Is there a way to cancel this in advance so it doesnt auto renew after 5 years?

      • Thanks

    • +2

Only use PayPal, so you can remove automatic payment in PayPal.

Or use virtual card that can be disabled or removed like Wise virtual cards (max 3 virtual cards). I can delete these 3 virtual cards and get another 3 new virtual cards in my Wise account. Useful to avoid auto renew or something similar. Repeat ;-)

      • Oh Paypal, of course. thanks.

        • I use my Wise card in Paypal. Already load USD, so no currency conversion in PayPal. Better rate in Wise.

          PureVPN uses USD.

    • Did you find out where to do this? I can't find it in subscription settings :/

      • Do you mean Paypal? Check Automatic Payment to cancel the renewal.

Or chat or send email to PureVPN customer service. Last time I sent email to get refund from PureVPN.

        • No I did it with credit card unfortunately. Surely they allow you to cancel the auto renewal somehow 🤦‍♂️

          • +1

@lars06: Yes, cancel through email or chat the PureVPN customer service.

Currency conversion in credit card? You'll get credit card points, I guess.

If you want the cashback profit (5 year plan for example), cancel it after you get the cashback in few months. Renewal in 5 years …

          • +1

@lars06: @lars06 In case you didn't already find this out, scroll to the bottom in Subscriptions and go through with the cancellation, at the end it said the following for me (the No and Yes lines are options you select):

Are you sure you want to cancel
No, I just want to stop my auto-recurring.
Yes, I want to cancel my subscription
Once cancelled, your subscription will expire on
            2026-01-03
However, you'll still be able to use PureVPN till then.

I clicked No and still have the subscription until the date above, with an option to "Resume Subscription".
