271

Recommended entry level 1440p IPS 165hz gaming monitor with VRR, RTINGS review is here: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/g2724d

In stock and back down under $400 at JB HI-FI (Ticket Price is $549, reduced to $379, $170 off). Not ATL ($350.12) from a few years ago.

Please note that this model has since been replaced by the Dell 27 G2725D (which is 180hz vs 165hz, but loses the faux HDR, doesn't have a height adjustable stand and there are mixed reviews on the panel i.e. on Reddit compared to the older Dell 27 G2724D).

How does this compare to the S2721DGF?

Looks to be a downgrade overall except for console gaming.

Thanks, Tim said it's a good monitor for about this price

      • You're using the numerical ratings: never do that.

You're also comparing two very different testing methodologies when it comes to responsiveness, and RTings' response time testing for IPS - and pursuit photography for all LCD - can be ignored prior to v2.0.

So while this new version is an upgrade, this price is meagre as a low-to-mid range QHD 165Hz monitor in 2025.

You should expect better responsiveness and refresh rate for over $350, and I wouldn't touch this for more than $250 at this point given the mediocre response times and HDR presentation.

As an example, expect to see QHD 240Hz mini-LED with an MSRP of $700-$749 launching this year, and QHD 240Hz and 360Hz OLED competing at that level also, with sales taking them below $500 (monitor MSRP has huge padding for manufacturing ramp).

  • I paid $345 for the 32" version of this monitor with USB C display option.

    Got two of them :)

  • I love this monitor. Granted it's my first high refresh rate screen, but i can't complain about anything EXCEPT the useless HDR.

    • Hdr doesn't exist among budget monitor anyway.

    What’s happened to the G3223Q?

It was out of stock for months on Dell’s website and now just says “unavailable”, possible a new
    Model is coming out?

    • Pretty sure its been discontinued they only sell the 4k one now. No stock after the ones in the below deal sold out.
The HP 32" Omen or LG 32" 750 use the same 10 bit LG 32" QHD 400nit 165hz panels so just get one of those for the $420 asking price or when they go on sale for $350. The HP was on sale a few weeks ago on ebay 20% off for $346

      • G3223q is 4k, and two model you mentioned are 2k. What do you mean "they only sell 4k one now"

    • Yes I'm waiting for this to be back in stock too, worried that it's being phased out though and I've missed out on the deal..

Interested what thoughts are for this versus e.g. the omen 27q which has been on and off available for $260-280 with coupon on ebay relatively reliably
    Rtings comparison
Worth the nearly 50% price premium for what is still an entry level monitor?
Especially if you are thinking of vesa mounting on an arm

I had both, both returned. The blacks were horrible, the Dell's blacks just looked grey, the HP had bleed everywhere.

      • What did you end up going for/are thinking about instead out of interest? I am wondering whether I spend more and get my 5-10 year monitor (have been eyeing off both of these models for a few months)

  • Was looking at this monitor previously for PS5 gaming but ultimately decided against it.

No audio out makes it more difficult to connect to external speakers without some messing around / additional converters / extractors.

Can use headphones connected to the controller, however would need to wear 100% of the time.

  • Purchased this on the 30th Jan for $549 unfortunately

Is there anything I can do, to get it for this price?

    • Hello John Titor from the future.
