Wow where are all you neggers

Now say that with a kiwi accent…

  • Bought the old Model Y in one of the old posts during the first sets of price drops, not a fan of Elon, love the car…. but even I know this isn't a bargain.

  • -7

Oh gosh. Enough is enough. Get it. It not a bargain. Half the comments are saying the same thing over and over.

Ozbargain is not only about price reduction. It’s to help each other with better purchase decisions. If there is a new model coming it helps immensely for someone about to make a decision or someone looking for a second hand etc. for someone in the market for an EV, this is useful info.

  • +4

The previous RWD model costs $57700

How is this a deal? The new model is a whopping $7500 increase

  • +2

$7500 more expensive than the current base model. Not only is it not a discount, it's more expensive than the outgoing version. Not a bargain.

  • +2

This is a PSA for the forums.

    • +2

it's not even a PSA… That's the weird shit about it… There was no price drop or incentive and it is more expensive than existing versions… Tesla sales are about to tank here with all the new Chinese competition that is going to be landing soon.

      • +1

And it would be a dupe anyway.

  • +1

    Looks like a turd.
I thought the update would make it look sharper like the 3, but they've managed to make it look more eggy and even more dated. Perhaps it will look better IRL, but the pics make it look terrible.

  • +4

Another Tesla sheep pushing the brand with no deal.

  • +1

    garbage

    • +2

no the garbage can is the cybertruck.

  • +3

LOL @ Long running deal…. AKA: RRP.

Anyway, negging due to issue with company and in particular it's owner being a dirty little grub of a man…

InB4 all the Elon simps crack the sads and accuse everyone else of being "sheep" and "npc bots" or "orange man bad crowd" and "lefties"

  • +1

    Not a bargain.
    Design looks dated.

      • +1

…but Enhanced-Autopilot and Full-Self Drive are additional costs, right ?

  • +2

    More like marketing

  • +1

Good luck competing with Chinese EVs at this price range.

  • +1

I love how they don't show order and delivery fees in the base price.

  • Note: you can't use a referral and get a discount on the Launch series.

  • +3

    All hail president elect Musk
    No deal.

  • +1

    Inflated release price no deal.

  • +1

    7 seater?

  • -1

From my understanding, the new Model Y seems to be a downgrade in terms of configuration, with several important features being reduced. This should have led to a price decrease, similar to the BYD ATTO 3. However, I'm puzzled as to why it has resulted in a price increase instead.

    • What reduction?

      • 1.The front and rear windshields. They've switched from Saint-Gobain, the same supplier as Rolls-Royce, to Fuyao Glass.
2.The headlights have been downgraded to a matrix headlight from Hella, a German company, with light units from Samsung.
3.The Suspension had been adjusted and rumoured to be not only for the shock absorbers but cost reduction.

    • What is reduced?

Price increase due to demand. They can't make them fast enough at the moment so they just gouging first adopters. That's just how it is.

  • This post shouldn't be here Lol, where's our bargain?

  • +1

How is this a deal? Anyone saying so has vested interests.

  • -3

The long range is 719km in China, and the price is just above 60K AUD in China, and it is still cheaper than new Model Y RWD in Australia… wtf

    • +2

Yer but we don't live in China?

    • +1

would you also like to be paid Chinese wages?

      • What is the tax rate in China ?
        Any HECS there?

        • They probably have HEKS…

      • if you are an English teacher in China, being paid 5000 AUD per month, considering the rental, transport, grocery price, labour cost and the convenience there, you are better off in China…

    • The 719km is probably with the more forgiving Chinese measurement for range. Wages are cheaper in China and the don't have to ship several thousand kms….

    • China uses CLTC to measure range
And if you're comparing like for like based on the launch edition here in AU (white, 20" wheels) the long range is 662km and costs closer to 71K AUD.

  • +2

That's an impressive up vote vs down vote ratio.

  • +1

    This is RRP though?

  • +1

Where's the deal? Wait a few months, it'll be $10K cheaper, then post.

  • +1

This price makes the Xpeng G6 LR even more appealing. However, the only concern is about charging at a Tesla supercharger.

  • +1

RRP so this is not a deal!

  • +1

Don't see why you wouldn't wait a few months for the (resale-destroying) ~$10k+ price cuts that, if history of the facelifted Model 3 is any guide, will arrive a few months after launch…

  • +1

How can admin allow ths? This is RRP. Admin must be named Elon?
