How is this a deal? The new model is a whopping $7500 increase
$7500 more expensive than the current base model. Not only is it not a discount, it's more expensive than the outgoing version. Not a bargain.

7 seater?
From my understanding, the new Model Y seems to be a downgrade in terms of configuration, with several important features being reduced. This should have led to a price decrease, similar to the BYD ATTO 3. However, I'm puzzled as to why it has resulted in a price increase instead.
What reduction?
1.The front and rear windshields. They've switched from Saint-Gobain, the same supplier as Rolls-Royce, to Fuyao Glass.
2.The headlights have been downgraded to a matrix headlight from Hella, a German company, with light units from Samsung.
3.The Suspension had been adjusted and rumoured to be not only for the shock absorbers but cost reduction.

if you are an English teacher in China, being paid 5000 AUD per month, considering the rental, transport, grocery price, labour cost and the convenience there, you are better off in China…
The 719km is probably with the more forgiving Chinese measurement for range. Wages are cheaper in China and the don't have to ship several thousand kms….
China uses CLTC to measure range
And if you're comparing like for like based on the launch edition here in AU (white, 20" wheels) the long range is 662km and costs closer to 71K AUD.
