This is what I've been waiting for! 7% cashback at ShopBack for 24 hours only. Seems to be uncapped and this looks to be one of the better uncapped cashback rates compared to previous years.

  • If you buy a Macbook and get the AirPods 4 as the bonus, does that invalidate the whole cashback as AP4 is an ineligible product and an actual line item in the final order?

    • I'm not sure, I can't see why it would invalidate the whole order, wouldn't it just be ineligible on that item (which is free so no cashback would apply). I got the Pro 2s anyway.

      • +1

Because of Sarbanes–Oxley Apple can not put $0 items on an invoice. What they do is discount the major item by the amount of the bonus item and then list the bonus item at rrp. That may screw up a cashback

      • Yep, as rpb pointed out, -$299 on the MB and AP4 at RRP. @gotyourback can we get some guidance here please?

        • From past experience it doesn’t.
The airpod would show zero value. You only get cashback on the item you purchased.
          Cashback would only track macbook

        • This was my experience in the past as well.

        • Hoping we get an answer soon. It’s holding me back from ordering.

  • how many gift cards can i use online?

    • +2

Apple has an 8 gc maximum per order, but if applied to your Apple account as credit, no limit.

  • Does this work on Apple On Campus?

    • -3

The link on Shopback led me to the AOC store.

      • +1

Base Mac Mini is $849 at EDU store but $815 at AOC store.

      • +2

It led you to the education store. Apple on campus needs a different link to access and has lower prices than the edu store. The promo is specifically for the edu store.

    • +1

      It does not.

  • Almost tempted to pull the trigger on the new iPad Mini.

    • Not eligible for the free pencil deal.

  • +1

M4 iPad pro not eligible.. boo

Nah, I think I'll wait for Cashrewards. Have had too many untracked purchases through SB, or purchases not honoured. Nope.

    • same, I will wait for CashRewards. Do they have rep here anymore? @tightarse is now representing TopCashBack.

  • How do i redeem the airpods(and which model)? Do i need to add it to bag? also is 20x points on Apple gift cards worth it going through the hassle, its only a 1% discount.

    • it seems there are two choices
e.g m3 mac air $1,582.90 with no airpods
      or $1,649.00 with airpods
it says 1.2% Cashback activated on both tabs of the Shopback extension
If buy from officeworks its $1577.00 for the same model

    • The AirPods get added to your bag and discount applied at checkout. You get to choose which option you want out of the offers that apply to whatever item you're purchasing.
20x points is like 10% off gift cards, once added to your Apple account balance, you can then stack those savings with the 7% cashback rate. It all adds up.

  • So do I have this right. A base spec M4 Mac Mini from the EDU store at $815, paid with 10% off discounted gift cards and with this shopback 7% cashback, will equate to ~$677 Delivered?

    • +1

Base Mac Mini is $849 at EDU store but $815 at AOC store.

      • +1

Interesting, when you click through the shopback link, it takes you to the Apple page and then you click 'shop' and click on the Mac Mini, it shows the AOC price of $815.

        • +1

Didn't so that for me. Clicking through to the Mac mini from the hamburger menu stool me to $849 price. Perhaps your browser has cached the AOC page or something and used that. I don't think you will get cashback on AOC.

I didn't have a good experience with shopback when I ordered macbook air M3 in the last promo they have; they have rejected my cashback (even though their website didn't mention any exclusion to MBA M3 at that time - I took screenshot of it and shared it with them too) and when I reached out their support, this is what they said:

Unfortunately,<Apple Store for Education>won't process rewards for your recent order due to recent updates. This decision is influenced by factors like attribution to another marketing channel.

Based on that, I wouldn't trust them for tracking apple education store cashback.
Having says that, shopback been good with other things; so your mileage may vary…

    • I'll report back once the tracking window has closed. I've had only good experience with ShopBack, so we'll see. Cashrewards is also likely to have a cashback offer on Apple this month.

  • I notice that prices through the Shopback app are standard store prices, not EDU prices. Anyone else is having the same issue?

    • No. Mine links to education store. Just trying to figure out if it would still give cashback for the AOC store.

    • Oh, on my phone it works fine. On laptop it does not. Links to regular store.

    • Shopback has both Apple store and Apple education store loisted as different stores, just make sure you click the right one.

  • Of course this comes up the day after the promotion starts for 24 hours only!

Just ordered macbook (after getting 20x flybuys offer) yesterday, order is processing and yet to ship but after calling Apple they've advised they can't cancel the order for me to re-order to be eligible for cashback.

How long does it typically take for Apple to credit account gift card balances for a returned order? Wondering if I should return it and hopefully catch CashRewards' offer (assuming it goes longer than today).

    • Did you buy through AOC or just through Apple? Beware that the cashback doesn’t apply to AOC sales. So depending what you bought, the difference may not be worth the effort.

      • Just through Apple education as I'm not AOC eligible. 7% cashback would be about $160 difference :(

        • Yep, if you’re not in urgent need I reckon Cashrewards will follow suit in the next week. I’ve read that gift cards are refunded between 4-24 hours.

          • @SirPumpkinator: Any idea, if I could place another order through shopback today paying $150 in remaining gift card balance, and $2k on credit card for store pickup. Return the original order, wait a day or two for gift card balance to show available then have the gift card credit applied to the order and receive a refund back to my credit card?
Seems like way too many excuses for Shopback to use to justify not paying the cashback.

            Just a shitty situation.

    • yeah I ordered a 16 inch macbook pro yesterday too, bummed I can't cancel and reorder for the cashback. At least my airpods pro 2 arrived today and are quite an improvement to my dying airpods pro 1

      • So bummed! If it was only for 24 hours a heads up would have been nice!

        • yeah would've been, but I can't complain too much, I was already waiting 2 months to buy my macbook with 10% off woolworths apple gift cards, and education pricing, waiting for the back to school promo and got $299 off airpods pro 2, so still came out ahead in my eyes.

    • If you can return in-store, you can ask for a new gift card to the amount refunded. That can then be used online straight away. That’s what I did today - returned a MacBook Pro purchased last week for a gift card received immediately, ordered a new MacBook Pro with the gift card on my phone outside the store, then sat at a cafe and waited for the notification to pick up the order. Worth it for the $160 cashback + AirPods.

      • Sadly I'm not going to receive it until tomorrow and the shopback finishes tonight. I guess my only option is to hope that CashRewards come to the party tomorrow or over the weekend.

  • Anyone know if Woolworths or Cole’s have 20x points offer now? Or when they will be next available?

  • Hi there, I order MacBook Air M3 16 gb 512 ram.
And I choose 70 watt MagSafe charger.
My question is what is the different between dual 35 w mag safe charger and 70 w mag safe charger?
I called Apple because the MacBook is appear not ready to pick up until 21 January ( that’s when I found out by calling them) and the airpod is ready to pick up now.
If I pick up the order on 21 January is that mean I didn’t get the cash back of 7% from the ShopBack since it is only for 24 hours ?
And I am good if I choose 70 watts MagSafe charger for my new MacBook Air instead of dual 35 watt MagSafe adaptor?
    Thanks before

    • Dual 35w has 2 ports, so you can charge 2 devices at the one time. However, much slower charging for your MBA.

      • 70w does not mean twice as fast compared to 35w. In real life the dif. is more like 10min. to full. I have the 70w and now I kind of regret it. I'd much rather had the ability to occasionally charge 2 devices at once plus carry a much smaller brick w me. In real life your macbook lasts all day, so you charge it only overnight therefore the speed does not matter. my 2c.

  • I am not a student but on AOC, I was still able to add a AMP to cart go to checkout. Haven't yet but was wondering if it asks for anything to prove you’re a student?

    • Apparently not really policed by apple.
