      • theres an exlusion in coles' T&C saying the 20x points don't apply to variable giftcards can someone please try it out and get back to me ASAP ??!?!?!?!!?

        • It does. When you call up flybuys tell them the advertisement pictures show the variable gift in it.

          • @somethingzzzzz: Do we have option to buy gift now as well or that offer is expired?

          • @somethingzzzzz: does it ? or u suggesting i lie to them haha

          • @somethingzzzzz: just called up both COLES and FLYBUYS -
sassy flybuys guy had no clue what I was on about
coles just confirmed that variable load cards are not part of this promo so - only 5 of largest amount which is $100 cards…

            • @omahgah:

so - only 5 of largest amount which is $100 cards…

              per flybuys account :)

            • @omahgah: Can you confirm you talking about the apple gift cards or some other gift cards

              • @somethingzzzzz: too late now but - coles only let us buy 5 x $100 gcards per day and jb hifi doesn't even let me turn them into apple gcards at jb - went to 2 jb stores and the employees were like robots "can't buy gcards with gcards !

                • @omahgah:

jb hifi doesn't even let me turn them into apple gcards at jb - went to 2 jb stores and the employees were like robots "can't buy gcards with gcards !

:( did you add them to your mobile wallet?

                • @omahgah: you can buy 5x $500 apple gift cards a day with the 20x flybuy point. If you read the fine print it says you can have a maximun of 50,000 points a day. These special last 7 days so you can do it once a day for 7 days. I have done this before. I have pictures of the fine print and my points on flybuys but we can't attach pictures here. I purchase a macbook pro from Apple with the shopback offer a few days ago and it is track at $384.94. I use $6049 of gift cards

                  • @somethingzzzzz: yes that is the apple 20x promo - not the current him/her promo that is on rn now - the other user was saying to buy current gcards to use at jb but the loop hole doesn't work - and I am trying to catch the 8% back promo that is already finished now due to short time frame

                    • @omahgah:

the other user was saying to buy current gcards to use at jb but the loop hole doesn't work

                      it does/did

Cashback is eligible on purchases paid with gift cards, …

      • I saw that in the post. What am I missing here?

Where are you getting the list of products from. Isn't this it?

      thanks, just updated!

  • Wow uncapped finally i can buy the whole apple store….

  • Any advice on getting an edu email?

    • +2

No need! You don't need any prove in order to receive an edu pricing from Apple…

      • +1

        Just your soul.

    • Do they even need an edu email? I've just progressed through the checkout without verifying anything.

      • +4

        no need! :)

  • imac - mac mini =))))

  • +1

    Boo, no mac mini.

Tempted to get an ipad air with the free pen, just need a giftcard deal!

  • I would assume the 5k Studio Display is not on the exclusion list right?

  • The only items included in the deal are iPhones, iPads and MacBook airs…shame that.

  • +4

The ShopBack one was better imo, less exclusions.

    • +4

Except when SB doesn't track, or refuses your cashback

      • +3

basically every time for me so stopped using SB now. cashrewards is far more consistent

        • for me stopped using SB and CR now. Topcashback is far more consistent

          • @CyberMurning: Never had ShopBack or Cashrewards not track something.

    • Maybe, but this inc iPhone 16

  • How about iPhone 16 ? Even though it’s not on the exclusion list, it’s the same price as the normal Apple Store. Would I earn cashback?

  • +2

I wonder if you will still get a cash back if Apple applies its “promotional saving” (discount) when you buy say an iPad and a pencil to get the price of the pencil taken off as per the other deal,

Because cashback says 8% excludes “ Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.”

    • -1

I think the pencil is added to the cart as a seperate item with its own discount attached, so the price of the iPad stays the same. Hopefully this doesn’t counteract the cashback eligibility

      • +2

You pay full price for the pencil. The iPad is reduced by the price of the pencil. Same for Mac purchases with iPods.

  • +1

Can you couple this with the free earphone deal?

edit realised it excluded macbook pro!

    • I think the offer still stands for MacBook airs which is covered by the cash back at least

  • +4

Getting to a stage where they should just tell us what is eligible.

  • What's the best way to ensure that this tracks? Screen record for proof if it does not track?

  • Is this the best current way to buy an iPhone 15 or the like? Partner looking to upgrade to a newer iPhone. Better to wait for the next SE 4 drop?

  • If I wanted to get an iPhone 15 base model would it be better to go through this deal or the costco/OW price beat the other day?

  • The cash back extension icon is not green later down the purchase process (as if it doesn’t know that it’s a cashreward supported website).

Is this going to be a problem?

For example once you get to Apple.com/au-edu/store it’s not green or ask me to reactivate etc.

And I realised, when I file a missing transaction with a receipt how is it going to know that I bought it on edu not regular?

  • +1

I want to buy a MacBook pro 14 base model with nano texture. 6% cashback from Shopback seems better because it's not excluded. Comes down to $2417 after cashback + airpods. From AOC, it's $2,454.10 but no airpods.

    • Does shopback pay on AOC?

Further do they pay on Apple balance (if redeeming gift cards)

      • @kev98 not on AOC and no AP4 on AOC. Apple balance, yes seems like all the conversations here.

  • Can we buy iphone 16 pro?

  • Anyone knows if this will work with Apple Store balance? Thanks.

    • +1

      it works

      • So add gift cards to Apple Store balance, then use CR = 8% back?

  • +1

Cashback for education, but MacBook Pro is not eligible?

    • Usually they exclude relatively new products in cashback.

  • -4

Wow this blows, thought Macbook Pros would have surely been included.

Looks like I'm going through Shopback instead.

    • +2

Don’t know why this deserved a neg but… deals a deal?

      • -7

The deal pales in comparison to their competitors deal when it comes to exclusions.
        Therefore dog shite.

        • +2

This deal is better for products that are included. Just because the product you want isn't included doesn't mean the whole deal is bad?

        • Exactly as @Evil-Elmo stated, ShopBack doesn’t include iPhone 16…

        • Perhaps you should start contributing to the site by submitting deals that you think are worthy then?

  • Before I take the leap of faith can I just double check here…..in theory I can buy gift cards at 5% discount (via Smart Spending through work) then get an ipad air with free apple pencil pro AND get 8% cashback??
Almost seems too good to be true….

    • +2

      yes - that’s what i’m doing :)

        • iPad shipped yesterday - no tracking email (yet?)
        • Pencil shipped today - tracking email received exactly 10min later

maybe iPad discount did prevent tracking this time, such that claim required :(

        • fyi correct cashback now pending :)

  • Do you get cashback when using the free Apple Pencil offer with the purchase of an iPad?

  • Can i get topcashback to beat it? They’ve got MB Pro included

  • Bit confused by the trade in parts

If I buy an iPhone 16 pro (allowed) with a trade in as part of the transaction, will that impact cashback?

    • Would like to know this too

  • -1

Looking to buy a Macbook Pro M4 512GB/16GB and Airpods Pro 2 or Airpods 4

What the lowest price possible and how

Thank you in advance for your time

    • To get the best deal on the MacBook Pro M4 (512GB/16GB) and AirPods:

      1. Use ShopBack for 6% cashback (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/888281).

      2. Go to the Apple Education Store via ShopBack and choose your MacBook.

3 Pick AirPods Pro 4 for free or AirPods Pro 2 for $100 extra.

4 If possible, buy Apple Gift Cards through Bupa for 5% off and use them at checkout for extra savings.

If gift cards aren’t an option, just go with the 6% cashback—it’s still a great deal!

  • Just sharing a thought, I had a look and the Apple Education Website is different offer than the APPLE AOC EDUCATION UNION. So for example a high spec MacBook Air M3 is 2159 on AOC Site with no free AirPod or standard education site is 2,259 with free AirPods.

    Apple Education Store: https://www.apple.com/au-edu/store

    Apple AOC Education Union https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/store

You could choose either, I’d personally go for the free AirPod option and add it to cash back then take it over seas to get the GST back.

I’ll see if I could combine it with everyday rewards or gift cards also

    • So… do you know if we buy from AOC website, will we still get the cash back from CR?

      • I dont think we can, I bought mac mini yesterday, no tracked until now from shopback.

        • Sometime, it does take a few days to track! Let's see what happen…

  • Have anyone received a 8% tracked confirmation from CR so far? I suspect mine didn't went through successfully because I purchased out from AOC….

    • +1

No cashback if you purchased out from AOC, it won't be tracked

      • Right… Thanks buddy!

    • I think Apple always take a while to track from experience. on the cashback notes on Cashrewards for Apple it does say:

"Cashback tracks to member accounts 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped."

Hopefully that is the case for us all.

    • Last time I purchased from Apple via CR the tracking came through half a day after the order had been shipped, which was a few days after placing the order, so you may expect similar timeframe. My order last night has just been shipped, still waiting for the tracking to come through.

  • MacBook Pros not included, bummer

  • +1

Just got an email from CR tracking the sale 👌.
Ordered at around 9am so 12hrs ish to track.

  • +1

Just got the tracked email ordered at 6pm. The email has the purchase price is less by $127.18. I got the education iPad Air and pencil pro deal.

    • The price might be excluding gst

      • Yes, got the invoice and the GST amount, and the amount missing from cashback was correct. So it was excluding GST.

  • Hey Guys, I placed an order for pickup on the first day of back-to-school season, and I know I missed out on this promotion. However, I still want to know if, after purchasing a gift card at Coles and adding it to my Apple Account Balance, I spent the balance on the Apple Education Store to buy a MacBook Air at the discounted education price and got free AirPods 4. So would I be eligible for an 8% cashback based on the pre-tax price of the education discount if I made the purchase through a link from Cashrewards?

    • +1

yes, if you ordered yesterday - welcome to OzBargain :)

      • Thanks for your reply! If I join Oz bargain earlier it would be better. What a pity

  • What’s a good way to add cashrewards deals on apple to my ozbargain notifications? I can’t seem to subscribe to a search for that?

  • Damn, missed out!
    Need to order a 2k iPad Pro…

  • Does anyone know if the education cashback works with trade ins, or do you have to trade in old devices to gift cards first?
