      • Just use it on groceries?

  • -4

Can we use previously purchased Coles Mastercard Gift Card to purchase new one?

    • -1

      no

      • Why not? I think the staff may stop you but the machine(system) wont

        • System will reject it. You can buy GC at coles with Coles GC. You can buy GC at woolies with these

  • +3

so $100 ones are better in this case eh

    • +3

only if we can find anyone lol

      • +2

My local magically had none left at 8:05am. They were awfully popular apparently.

But a sneaky look behind the door revealed the entire stack.

    • Not strictly better, due to only being able to get the benefit 5 times.

  • +3
    • +1

$250 is never an issue. It's the 100 ones that disappear pretty quickly

      • +9

legends said that you can find them in the freezer aisle

      • When 10% off campaign is on then it's the reverse- $250 disappears quickly!

  • +1

Are these the same card that had the same offer just a couple of weeks ago?

    • +1

      yes, about week ago.

      • Thank you for confirming!

  • +1

Wow really surprised to see another promo in short period of time!

    • +2

They're chasing top line sales early in the Quarter

  • +5

    That's fast….I don't need this one…but bring back 10%…pls…

  • $5 profit for $100

  • -1

Dumb question, will it stack with 5x points from onepass?

    • I dont think so. Gift card is bit different.

    • Coles has never been part of OnePass, so I expect you to get an error message if you scan a OnePass card at Coles.

  • Why did the T&C mention rainchecks? I thought both Woolies and Coles have got rid of rainchecks in general. Or is it just Woolies? Does anyone know ?

    • +4

      Coles still does rainchecks.

    • +2

      Only WW stopped rainchecks

      • +3

I think Coles also stopped them but brought them back after Covid.

        • +2

          Yes they did

  • prefer the 10% off offer, as it takes 10% off the cost of the fee as well

  • Just wondering it's maximum 10,000 flybuys points per person during promotional period?

    • Per flybuys account.

  • Anyone know if any of the shop back hacks that still work with this?

The shopback supermarket card is no longer available….and Seems Coles have blocked the use of the Shopback "Fast Food" Gift Card to rebuy these

    • Where is it that people couldn't use the Fast Food card any more?

      • +2
        • Any other Shopback giftcards work? @WookieMonster

          • +2

@andyroberts1: You are asking the person who is not a ShopBack member!

I am unsure whether any other ShopBack gift cards allow transactions at supermarkets.

        • +1

Thanks Wookie, damn that was recent.

  • I'm sorry if asked and answered before under other deal posts, but:-
"Can you use flybuy dollars to buy these & still qualify?"

    • You won’t be able to buy them using flybuys dollars

      • Thank you. What about qualifying when using flybuy dollars to buy into deals such as "Collect 2,000 bonus points when you spend $90 in one transaction"?

        • +1

          Nope

  • How can I use these cards to pay for my Airbnb balance?

    • If you have Reward Gateway buy Airbnb gift card for 5% off and pay with these gift cards via Google Pay? I have bought gift cards on there with these gift cards via Google Pay before

    • +1

I don't have the Reward Gateway mentioned below, but I've used these Coles cards to pay for cards at Woollies - so a 100 card can buy 100 airbnb card there, for the cost of walking from one end of the shopping centre to the other. The Airbnb don't seem to go on sale often.

  • +2

I don't think Coles (the few I have been to) have restocked (in partic the $100 ones) from the same promo that ended 12 days ago!

    • +1

Yep a few I've gone has plenty of $50 and $250, no $100 in sight. Hopefully they get stock in the next few days…

    • Yes I went to two and the same.

    • It wants you to buy $250 one.

      • Went to two Coles and they didn't have the $250 either :(

  • Terms and conditions say 'Limit 5 Gift Cards per Flybuys account'. My wife has a separate Flybuys account which is linked to mine so all points go to my account. Does anybody know if I buy 5 cards and scan my Flybuys card and then buy another 5 and scan her Flybuys card, would I still earn bonus points?

    • +7

Your wife does not have a separate Flybuys account. You and your wife have separate Flybuys cards linked to the same Flybuys account, which means that the limit is applied per Flybuys account, not per Flybuys card.

For example, if you scan your Flybuys card and purchase 5 gift cards during this deal, you will earn bonus points on those 5 gift cards. If your wife then scans her Flybuys card and purchases 1 gift card during this deal, she will earn no bonus points, because she would be exceeding the Flybuys account limit.

      • +1

Thank you so much for your reply.

  • Can these cards be added to ApplePay?

    • +3

      No.

I just tried adding one to Apple Pay, but I got the following error: Your Issuer Does Not Yet Offer Support for This Card.

      • +1

        Thanks for sharing!

Im keen to buy a few for the points, but having to carry around a physical card is a serious blocker - first world problems…

        • +1

Just use them online? Prepay bills etc

  • Just visited Burwood (Vic) Coles. No Coles Mastercards sighted. Staff member told me that promotion actually doesn't start until 7AM on the 15th..

  • It has been some time the $ X spend for 4 weeks and get 10,000 points have not landed. Looks like its gone :(

    Scammer warning

Bought 5 at my local Coles @ Parkholme in SA this morning.
When I opened 3 of them they had the numbers scratched off. The other 2 were fine and I've used already.
I realised the 3 that were scammed had the red pull tab to open the card but the other 2 had a new different type of opening.
So please be aware of the older red pull tab cards they are the ones that seem to be targeted by the scammers.

Rang the customer support line & they are organising new cards, fingers crossed they arrive.

Looked like Coles @ Parkholme had plenty of the new cards I just happened to grab the dodgy ones. I'll be checking for the older red pull tab ones in future and giving them a miss.

    • +1

Interesting- I haven't seen cards with the red pull tab for quite a while now (VIC)- thought they changed over the packaging design for at least 6 months with all the tampering going on.

      • That's because they've likely been sitting in a scammer's drawer and only got slipped onto the shelf recently.

      • I haven't bought them for a while so that probably explains why I didn't think they were unusual, I'll definitely be double checking now. I'm surprised that it happened at my local, its just a small (but very popular) out of the way store that's not in a big shopping centre. Scammers are now making an effort 🙄

    • I got stung with 2x compromised cards from Coles St Peters SA yesterday.

  • Managed to get a few $100 cards this morning but I seem to be having difficulty using them to top up my Linkt tolling account. The mybalancenow portal is showing the transactions as declined and the Linkt website is throwing up a Try Again Later error.

I used some leftover Digital Coles Mastercards about 2 days ago to top up the account.

Anyone else tried using the physical cards very recently on Linkt and had success?

    • Previous cards I bought at Coles took at least 2 to 3 hours to fully activate.
Might worth a retry later ?

      • +1

Yeah, I tried waiting a fair few hours and used the card in store first before trying it again on Linkt. Even tried on my parent's Linkt account as well but they seem to be blocking the payment. I'm guessing it must be a a 3D-Secure (or lack thereof) issue with these cards now.

  • No stock. Just $50s. Who would buy those anyway?

  • +1

so If I get 4x 250 gift cards in one transaction, can I get 8000 points? Thanks

    • +2

      yes you can

    • +2

      yes

    • +1

      And 1028 base pts.

      • +1

Plus whatever points your credit card will give you.

  • Did a points crawl tonight looking for $100 cards. (Boronia, Bayswater, Chirnside Park, Croydon North, Burntbridge, Mooroolbark.)

However I managed to pick up 5 at Croydon. There were still a handful left when I left a couple of hours ago.

  • +2

Thought I'd add some up to date data point for buying digital Airbnb Gift cards (I'm missing the 20x Airbnb points deals so much!)

    Payment Declined -
    Qantas Marketplace
    Giftz
    HeyMax
Member Benefits Australia (Health Insurance Rewards Portal)
    Cash Rewards

    Payment Approved -
    Shopback (with 2.5% cashback)

With $2.50 cashback subtracted from the $5 fee, brings the cost back to $2.50 for 1000 velocity points (for $100 version).

    • Sorry @karmics if this is explained somewhere else, but what are you talking about here. My 2025 resolution is to step up my gift card game so I'm keen to understand this.

      • +1

Basically this is just a summary of where I tired to purchase digital Airbnb gift cards using the Coles MasterCard Gift Card from this deal (as we haven't had any Airbnb bonus points deals from Coles/Woolworths for about 12 months now).

Specifically, trying to buy online (not in store) to try to get any extra points or cashback.

A lot of times even though the card is able to be used for online payments, it gets declined because the prepaid card's don't have '3D Secure' so the payment fails with some merchants payment processors.

Under Pages, you can find the wiki for both Discounted eGift Card and Gift Cards - FAQ which have a good deal of info.

        • ok got it, i read it as if you were buying airbnb cards and then somehow buying the mastercards at a discounted rates. this makes more sense now. thanks for taking the time to explain. i think at the very least as long as i am using these cards to pay off my ato debt it is better than nothing, but good to know i can add them as my shopback card too.

  • Every cycle 100s become harder to find. Soon only those hiding them before the promo will have a shot

  • How long will it take for the bonus to appear in Flybuy app? Mine doesnt come yet after 2 days🥲

    • +1

This deal only started yesterday, and Flybuys has not yet processed any points from Coles transactions in-store.

If you check back around 4:30pm Sydney/Melbourne time, Flybuys should have processed Coles transactions onto Flybuys accounts (or at least update the points balance).

    • same I got 3x250 and 1x100 yesterday and it looks like Flybuys points are not there yet

      • +1

It's usually a few hours yet. Plus also the last few times this promotion ran they seemed to do batches, even til the end of the week.

    • Strange, I had two separate transactions yesterday- both base points showing, but only received bonus points for one and not the other.

      • +1

I have only received the base points for my purchases from Wednesday at the moment. But a similar thing happened last promo, didn't get my points for a few days.

      • Bonus points from my Wednesday purchases came through Friday afternoon.

  • Can I use these for rates and utilities?

    • +1

      Yes

      • Tried for Melbourne council at 2 austpost , couldn't go through

    • You can, as long as the merchant you are paying through accepts Coles Mastercard gift cards.

      For example:

      • If you try to pay your rates through Post Billpay or BPOINT, it should work.

      • If you try to pay your rates through Payble, it probably will not work, because Payble appears to reject Coles Mastercard gift cards.
