  • Mwahahaha. Bought. Thanks. Decent Metacritic score too.

  • Oh good job.
Americans get 10.19USD and Europeans get 17EUR… definitely a price mistake.

  • Already fixed. :(

    • just bought it at $2.19 USD, after you posted. works for me.

    • +1

Still looks like it's $2.19 to me.

      • same got two for the kids $2.19 is a good price

  • +1

I thought EA pulled all of their stuff from Steam?
I got this for free a while back during a EA/Origin stuff up.

    • +2

thank you, you saved me $2.19, it is actually in my EA library.

  • Showing as 66% off when viewed via proxy.
Still showing as 93% off when I'm browsing (multiple browsers, not cached)/
Also, the Steam page says this below. Sneaky way for them to upgrade the DRM if you own The Sims??

  • Nice find! thanks for the post!

  • Thanks OP! MUST be a pricing error…

  • Cheers broski

  • Hmmm, flash sale. Maybe just another awesome sale? Rather than pricing error?

  • 93% is an odd number.
    I got it for $2.19

  • Gabe makes less mistakes than Chuck Norris

  • Got it, better be worth the $2.19 !

  • +2

If it doesn't show as $2.19, it does for me so paypal me (message me first) $2.19 and Ill gift it to you :)

    • Golly that's a generous chap.

  • It's 2am and 30+ Positives already!

    • Ozbargainers sleep with one eye open on their ipad looking for bargainmate notifications..

      • +7

        iPad? You mean Ainol tablet

        • +1

Some of us have been able to afford ipads with all the money we've saved from here..

        • +6

What money? this is news to me because i'm pretty sure us ozbargainers are spending more then we are saving :P

        • +1

We save with an ainol so we can buy more things. IPads r for fake ozbargainers.

        • Currently on an iPad I 'borrowed' from work because I ran out of time
To configure for new user, shame hey

Get your Key from Steam and register it at Sims3.com
https://www.thesims3.com/register.html (make sure you use your Origin email)
Then it will be in both of your accounts, Steam and Origin.

  • Thx for this. Was going to pay full rrp a few months back.

  • No go. Comes up as $2.19 if it's in your wishlist and as a game search, but shows the correct $15 price when you go to the game page and try to purchase.

    • Flash sale is over now. It's now 50% off at $14.99 USD

      • True, but it was still showing up at $2.19 for me until I clicked on the product itself.

        • The product page showed $2.19 for me and it showed up as $2.19 in my cart as well? I didn't end up buying it though.

        • shrug don't know what it was doing then, the system itself seemed confused as to what the price was. Tried both the client and the web page, both did the same thing.

  • Its quite a fun game, in a similar vein to the SIMS 3, but a lot more structured. Possibly less replayability.

Also, while it uses the same engine, I found the character models and the costumes better in the Medieval.

  • +1

Damn, I slept too much today. :( Missed it

    • You'd have no chance unless your intent was to wake up at 3 or 4am or something.

    • I bought a spare…? :P

  • +5

So the question is, how many who bought it would never have bought it otherwise and/or are questioning the usefulness of the purchase (whilst being content with the bargain nature of it)? :)

    • It's a nice game… I'm quite enjoying it!

      • I'm going to check on what the DRM is before d/ling and installing it. From the descriptions it actually seems like something more than playing dressups with virtual dolls, which is good. :)

        • I don't see any invasive DRM from my end… but it could be well hidden. For all intents and purposes, the game installs, it prompts that you might need to copy the CD key, but I was never asked.
Apparently you can add the key to your Origin account, but this was neither necessary, nor would I do so at this point in time due to the issues with Origin accounts…

        • Cool and yeah. Origin is why EA is, for most intents and purposes, dead to me.

    • It's an awesome game, very polished.

  • This game is way too complicated.

    • In what way?

      • I've only had about 3 hours of gameplay, accepting quest and just copying what they do. Without the help bar it'd be impossible to figure where to find the people for the quest and making town and holding meetings.. Being a heavy sims3 user I still had trouble figuring this game out lol.

        • They probably could have made the floating yellow icon that is attached to the relevant sim/location occur more often, but in most of the quests I've done, it has been present and has made the question muuuuuch easier.
I will have to agree though - had to consult some online guides for 'where to find X' for a few missions. :P

Wouldn't say it was 'way' too complicated though.. but I will agree it was unnecessarily complicated.

  • Deal is back at $2.19. 27/12

  • +1

I coulda bought it last time for the wife but decided not to, thought it was a cheap way to see if she'd like the Sims games.

    • +1

I have a friend who loves The Sims games (only games she plays) and was excited when she heard about The Sims Medieval because she loves history/the middle ages but once she finally played it she hated it because it was so much different from the other Sims games.

  • Buy it as a gift and trade it with others on http://www.reddit.com/r/SteamGameSwap :D
