    ✅Upvoted for description alone!

Thanks OP..I bought one even though I definitely do not need one and I have no idea what this brand is :-D but I bought it just because of the trouble you took on your description …well done and thank you ..that is cheap

Don't forget that some SSD/flash technologies require being powered on every now and then. If it spent a year on the shelf don't be surprised getting your files corrupted and drive with a bunch of bad sectors. I'm not saying this particular drive is like that, but many are.

  • Is it safe to eject this device?

  • I bought the 128GB model in 2014, it lasted 4 years in my case. Primarily used for OS installations (flashed regularly). So pretty decent.

  • But does it make stu stu noises?

  • -6

    I bought a 1TB one on Temu for $5

    • +6

… which will undoubtedly be a fake capacity one.

      • -4

It shows as ~880gb on my PC

        • +5

          They can fake those bro

        • +1

Write 500gb to it and then see if you can access it. Hell, write 100gb to it and see if it works and/or lasts.

        • +2

H2testw will show you real capacity by writing and verifying data

any data written beyond real capacity will become corrupt

      I thought you were joking…

Most likely it's a fake capacity

    5 for $28.50 from Amazon AU https://www.amazon.com.au/PNY-Turbo-Attaché-Flash-5-Pack/dp/B08HW32VG6/

    And some bad reviews.

    • Those are only 32GB. The one in this deal is 256GB. It has more storage than those 5 combined & is much more convenient.

  • +2

4.6/5 from 2200 reviews. There's no pleasing some people.

A 3/5 star review "Im going to have to hammer this open and hope it works,,cover doesnt come of… damn it slides back".

  • Not saying this is a better performing drive, but an example of good design: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07SYRW97F

Solid state drives have no moving parts, but manufacturers add unnecessary sliding and swivel mechanisms to make it look cool. As if the USB-A connector needs protection from a flimsy plastic cover.

And this PNY one has a cover that doesn't even prevent dust.

  • 105MBps/15MBps are still much faster than the average internet speed people have, compared to the download/upload speed.
