The xm5 are all plastic. These have plastic, metal and leather accents. Sony's have a fair amount of build quality issues (snapping bands)
They both have meh out of the box sound. But when you tune the eq, they're both fine for what they are. The xm5 may be easier to tune, thanks to their find my eq, but the bose only has 3 band, so they're not too bad to tune to your liking.
I wouldnt buy anything at their rrp, or even 10-15% discount. The xm5 could be had for about 300. But the ultras rarely go on sale. Youre spot on, for 199, cant go wrong (as long as theyre delivered)

you can tell from handling them in the store? yes they’re plastic - but there’s nothing wrong with that. My QC35s have been through a LOT and they’re still working just fine, all I’ve had to do is replace the pads

Im glad yours are still working well, i have a few bose prosucts and like their stuff. Their headphones, like most these days, are pretty flimsy, light and made of plsstic. And yes i could tell but playing with them for 20 mins. I would have only needed 2 mins tbh.

My order says shipped (like many others here), however I’ve not received a tracking number - jumped on chat this morning and once I provided my order number and location the consultant advised that due to system upgrades - their internal system was down so they couldn’t check.
Mine was on 'order shipped' on the tracking page all day yesterday and last night and now this morning it's changed back to 'order processing' with 'unknown' underneath that and a random code starting with 'M50xxxxx'
My account page has said 'completed' the whole time since ordering.
No emails other than the original purchase one.
Still no tracking number or invoice for me but online chat confirmed that my order will be shipped tomorrow. 🤔
Mine is 'Processing order'. I ordered at 3:25pm AEST and at the time it said ships in 3-4 weeks due to no stock

My order was completed last night. However , at 9 am today an automatic tracking number is added to AuPost App. No update on the order status or no invoice emailed yet.

I would have had a heart attack when seeing the price! last night you could see that price if you searched for the model on the top search bar and looked at the results on the pop-up, before hitting enter. But if you clicked on the headphones, they would show up at the regular price.

Quick update: Jumped back on chat and their system was up and running (in terms of being able to find out the status of it).
The consultant advised that shipping is ready and delivery partner assigned is AU Post and I should be notified within the next 24 hours (via email) of tracking details. Furthermore, it's coming from an Australian warehouse and should arrive within 2-3 days. Unfortunately, the consultant couldn't provide the shipping number - but nonetheless, looks like the deal is going through (fingers crossed).

Where do you see it say that? I paid via paypal, email says you won't be charged until bose processes your order but my cc attached to paypal was charged instantly. My order has been marked as completed since yesterday (went from processing to completed shortly after the order)
Still “processing order”. Ordered at 4:20 yesterday. Spoke to live chat and they confirmed it’s processing and said “it should be with you in 4-5 days”
They also said due to high volume of orders it’s all taking longer than usual. They also thank me for “being nice” over the chat lol
Anyway I’m pretty sure this does not mean anything as cs people are just looking at the same page as I amAnyone here who missed the deal, keep refreshing the page lol

Why speak to Bose now, the more attention you attract the less likely everyone is to get it…
It's crazy that a company the size of Bose can put up with a website this bad. The US site is totally different and actually looks cared for and optimised. Not only is the frontend totally clunky and poorly designed (see the .html extensions in the url), clearly we learned yesterday that the backend is also totally misconfigured with odd pricing cache behaviour (refreshing and seeing different prices is crazy). Currently the homepage is also just white for me.
Any web geeks to provide more insight here while we wait for our orders to ship?

Well technically they are using one of the most expensive CMS , Adobe experience manager but I am sure they have just spin up a very basic website and didn't wanted to invest in design and tech.

@TheContact: On the Bose website, in the menu under support there is an option to track your order. Just need order number (in order confirmation email) and billing postcode.

@bosanceros: Sorry, I don't know about the tracking. I ordered quite late so still says processing for me. As someone said earlier, maybe their tracking system is not great so hopefully we will all get it

wow I ordered mine on 15/12 before this price error (discount) still haven't shipped yet….only with a track number at "notice" status.
Ordered completed/confirmed at 1:30pm yesterday. Just checked and status is shipped. Still have doubts until I have the item in my hand.
