Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones $198.95 when I add to cart and checkout. ATL. Probably a pricing error. Never seen this low.

    Final update: mine is onboard for delivery today (ordered at 1.31pm).

    Big thanks to OP - I saw this post as soon as it got posted, and I "umm and ahh" because I knew it was a pricing error, and didn't think they would honour such a low price. Furthermore, I didn't want a headache of dealing with funds taking ages to come back (even though I was using a CC) - however, decided to last minute bite the bullet and ride the rollercoaster of the price error. Great outcome and lesson learnt - in future, always ride the rollercoaster of pricing error, as I may be pleasantly surprised if they do indeed honour it.

        • I dont think that's the case. My partner's order is in the mid-jan boat. It's still pending. I reckon they will charge once the order is shipped.

          Yeh, one was going to a mate in Perth and was going to distribute the rest to those who have missed out in Canberra

    • I also had the charge disappear off my PayPal and bank app for an order, got the back order email and no cancellation email and the order still says processing on the track page. Only got 1 so I don’t think it’s a volume issue

        • That’s total bs. How can they do that? Companies can’t just charge cards randomly, the payment has to be initiated by the card owner

          • @Nedkellyinthebush: Bose have a habit of doing that. The initial charge is a preauthorisation. They remove it if OOS and initiate it again once back in stock. Same system as amazon i believe . You will find it in the fine print if you bother going through the fine print of t&c

            @Nedkellyinthebush: A typical Credit Card pre-authorization can be settled for up to 30 days by a merchant. Though exhausting the credit authorization horizon will likely cost the merchant more in interchange and/or other fees applied through the applicable service or payment processor.

            However, Paypal is much more lenient (or rather stricter) towards pre-authorizations and those pre-auths are usually 'forfeited' much sooner than 30 days. Paypal is therefore liked by small timers in case the goods are not shipped within the pre-authorization horizon. Those individuals then initiate a chargeback as soon as the goods are shipped should there be a significant fulfillment delay of x days (as is the case here with those who received the out of stock notification with an ETA's in January). I do not recommend to do that as this hurts the merchants obvoiusly plus can get you banned from Paypal / your credit card issuer, or could carry more severe repercussions as a chargeback is executed under penalty of purgery.

            All that said, a credit card settlement (yoru actual charge) should only happend once the goods or services have left the warehouse and/or are fulfilled otherwise.

            Not seeing the authorization in your CC or PayPal account any longer does not mean that the merchant does not have the right and means to settle at a later point.

  • Website says stock will be back on 6 January for black and white, 23 December for blue. This contradicts the email that said 14 of Jan (which was in turn confirmed to me by a customer service agent today)

  • PayPal transaction disappeared from PayPal but money is pending transaction on my bank account. I received 14 Jan stock email.

    • Perhaps they don't settle the payment until the invoice is generated & shipped. Mine is still pending on my AMEX as well

    I understand that the product ends up showing under Products on your account but does the product serial also stay on the receipt/their system?

    I bought one from another deal (more expensive) and arrived today.
    My second one from this deal (cheaper here) will arrive Mid Jan.
    I am wondering if I can open the one I just received, and then when the more cheaper one arrives in Jan I will return it under the more expensive invoice.

      The Bose Excitement Guarantee, allows you 30 days to trial it.

      I doubt you can return the new one under the previous receipt as they will likely scan the S/N on return

    • On the bose website, it says:

      90-day return policy²

      Take some time, make sure that it’s the right product for you.

      So you could probably just return the on that showed up today later.

      the agent asked me if i wish to cancel the order so that i can put the student bean code to the new order but i said No, pls No…lol…i asked if Bose could refund me $40 after i receive order and they did as an exception…Merry Christmas! thanks for your tips
