      Perfectly adequate for Chromebook.

One's $1300 and popular amongst creatives.
The other is $400 and extremely web-focused.

    Non touch screen

Ture but one of the benefits of a Chromebook is that you can download many Android apps, but most of them are designed for touchscreens.

  • At this price why would anyone choose a chromechook?

    • +1

For long term software support as these will be supported for 5 or 6 years!

      • +2

If you buy a Windows machine today, it will still run a supported and updated version of Windows for a lot more than 6 years.

Windows 11 will happily run on a 7 year old PC right now, and will keep on trucking until we eventually get Windows 12.

        • -1

I'm so glad that virus built today for Windows 11 will be around in 7 years time.

      • ChromeOS software support was extended to 10 years from release of the device.
Looks like that'll be 2033 for this device.

  • Intel i3 N305 is listed as a Windows 11 supported Intel processor at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/mi…

Perhaps this could actually be set up to use Windows 11?

Why would you want a 128GB eMMC storage with 8GB RAM Windows laptop?

  • Fair point. Perhaps a low cost machine with more uses than a Chromebook. Just wondering really, and interested in the comments.

just install a Chrome Flex on ur old windows PC, save $399

    • Was thinking the same, or get one of those cheap sub $300 refurbs and also install Chrome Flex. Will be a much better laptop than this manufacturered e-waste.

      • I don't think Chrome Flex has access to the Play Store. Also, Google Chromebook can run Android Apps.

    • Good idea. I tried that recently on an old laptop, worked quite well. Annoyance for me was that it doesn't seem to allow many apps from the Google Play store to be installed.

  • +1

Google is going to replace the OS with Androids in the future. Mixed reactions, but I'm all for it.

  • Cheapest CB plus model I could find on the market. Let down by lack of touchscreen which is essential for Android apps. Great all-rounder otherwise.

  • Thanks OP. Seems like a decent price for a Chromebook useful for uni study.
