PS5 DISC Drive is available for $159.95 click & collect @ EB Games
Considering its rock high price on eBay or stockX, buying it at RRP might still be a good deal.
Valid Lv5 or Plus membership required.
EB plus one year membership is available online @ $49 with a free gift (e.g. $30 RRP ramen bowl)
3 month membership is available in store @ $25 but no free gift.
Once you put the EB plus one year membership into the shopping cart, you can add the disc drive to the shopping cart.
Seems stock runs out quickly but still available at:
- Burwood
- Parramatta
- Miranda
- Eastgardens
- Rouse hills

Update: seems out of stock for most stores in metro Sydney. You might still be able to find some stock in rural area e.g. mount druitt, plumpton or campbelltown etc. I can't check the stock anymore as it doesn't allow me to add it to the cart anymore after bought my own.       Pretty sure a lot of people that are level 5 are employees with staff discounts, people who "trade in" and buy pre-owned a lot as well as…dare I say it….resellers.

      The top carrot earner right now has supposedly earned 106,618 carrots since 1 Sep 2024. Honestly not sure how that is legitimately possible without being an employee using your card on other peoples transactions.

        It's probably some guy buying lots of games and consoles from garage/estate sales and then trading them in at his local eb. (I believe some still do cash)
        you get 2x carrots from eb games plus membership. Then you mix that with the various bonuses and promos they do.

        I understand bro, I have cyberpunk 2077 , god of war ragnork, ff7rebirth, and so many other new games in discs, I am not paying 99+$ again to get the digital editions, when I got the discs so much cheaper. I have very big digital library but all those games are bought on very big discount years after the releases.

          The fact that there wasn't even a disc drive option for the PS5 Pro shows me that PlayStation wants to shift its consumers to digital sooner rather than later and get publishers VERY comfortable with the idea of selling their AAA games through the PS Store exclusively.
          If the PS6 repeats this, publishers will accommodate for the lowest common denominator, which is those that don't own a disc drive with their PS6, which will sound the death knell for transferable licenses and game ownership for consoles.
          If that ever happens, I'm picking up a PS6 used with a disc drive and then primarily gaming on PC once digital-only is real.

      Incorrect. I am sure any ozbargainers that shop there know the easy tricks to boost carrots etc etc. an e tea 30% trade in on their console deals works out very nicely even without carrots.

        My comment is about level 5, not any of the other membership levels or trade in deals. Your typical OzBargain member isn’t spending thousands of dollars at EB Games/Zing in a year to make level 5.

It’s also good that you agree this is a good deal. What’s missing is the substance of your post. On the surface it’s just a bit of noise that can just be interpreted as an act of boasting.

            How did you come to be level 5? Educate. Engage. Entertain.

            An important component to being in a position above others (as minor as something as a EB level might be) is to reach down with a hand. Telling people you’re above them isn’t helpful.

    The silly thing is that EB Games RELY on people buying and trading disks in to them. And they are gatekeeping people from buying the device to play the physical disk's.

      I could be wrong, but I reckon EB Games is seeing the writing on the wall. They know these companies are going towards digital first/only and thus they are trying to recoup elsewhere. Such as via subscription and that they now sell digital games https://www.ebgames.com.au/digital

      EB Games knows that physical media is dying, which is why they're branching out so much to keep their business alive, such as merchandise, gaming accessories, subscriptions and selling digital games.

    If you bought your PS5 pro from EB trade in, you should get a 3 month free plus membership? This is the case for me, not sure about others?

      The 3 month plus membership wasn't automatically included, you had to pay an extra $25 for it which you then immediately got back as a discount. I wouldn't have realised except the salesperson told me I should add it when I was picking up my console. So maybe some people didn't get it?

      Also I'm guessing people who bought theirs at JB or Amazon are frustrated too

      It would be much better if the retailers had just allowed anyone who bought a pro to pre-order the drive and get priority

    Exactly what I did with the Pro purchase, but I was initially turned off mentally by seeing lvl 5 in the post…. But just logged in and was able to purchase the drive because of the Plus membership.

    Level 5. Who on earth has a Level 5 membership. I'm only at Level 3. I suppose and then they coerce you into paying the $49 for the EB World Plus membership just to get this. Since basically hardly any one is at Level 5. It's all a cunning cash grab ploy.

    Yeah well any how this will probably get grabbed up by ebay scalpers with Plus memberships on multiple eb games accounts to get around the 1 unit per customer rule. No doubt about that.

    Oh well i had since given up trying to source this drive a few weeks ago and i ordered the PS5 Slim Disc console instead of the Digital.

      EB is a dying business since physical games are going to go away sooner or later, so they're trying subscriptions and gatekeeping products to make some money before they close up in 10 years.

    It sucks they are gating it but I don't think there are any really good options when there's not enough stock. If they do it first come first serve, just as many will be picked up by scalpers.

    Anyone who's bought a console from EB games recently is likely to already have plus membership.

      You're lucky before the scalpers with multiple eb games accounts with the $49 Plus membership got to it. It's open to any one with the Plus membership. The $49 is nothing compared to the markup the scalpers put on it.
