    Ported from Kogan to Optus today. It was done in minutes without issue.

    It's very important to get your ID details, matching name including middle name, email used at order time, all correct or you can experience port hiccups.

    Has anyone not received a confirmation email from Optus? I had them charge me a $0.01 authorization charge, but haven't been billed the full amount or received a "tax invoice" from Optus at all.

    I'm trying to activate this sim and port over my number from Coles (which requires manual intervention and a painful set up process).

    The Optus rep is now asking if I would like them to process a month to month plan with 25% discount?

    Are they trying to sell me something different?

      same thing with me. they are trying to sell me a different plan when trying to port. They said, as I am coming from another prepaid service, I will have to be on the month to month plan and cannot port me. Did you manage to port yours?

    I was just told by Optus support guys that on prepaid plans, if you don't renew the plan and let it lapse, your number is permanently lost.
    I'm going overseas so need to find another to port in to (like flipconnect or a boost deal). Just thought I'd give you guys a heads-up, too. (Their post-paids let you keep your number but you have to pay $5.50 monthly…screw that)

        if you don't recharge for more than around 6 months, yea it is, it gets put back in the pool of numbers to be used. This is how it works for all telcos in Aus afaik
