    Thank you

No worries Turd. I don't think Voda sims have an expiry but probably best to activate within 12 months.

  • +1

Good find. Pretty sure you get 24 months from manufacture (or purchase, they often change these things),

but like you say, safer to activate before 12 months after purchase, hence I will pass on this deal (still have

one unactivated and a 12 month Voda sim in use) lol.

Hi mate this isn’t accurate information.
The stock that is in stores these days don’t/wont expire.
The only thing that could “expire” is any offer associated to that price plan… e.g. $35 with 60GB. That GB incl will likely look different in 12 mths time.

      • +1

I think you forgot to tick associated.

        • +1

          Not anymore, used to be

Not up to date with latest Vodafone sim card date expiration.

Had many Vodafone Prepaid sims expire someyears ago and needed to call Vodafone and

go to a company store to get some exchanged, but not all, I lost a few then.

        • +1

Vodafone did a batch phase-out in late 2019. If I remember it correctly, each SIM was pre-assigned a number that is a not considerate and resource occupied way. Vodafone might be close to run out the numbers to assign at that time.

Surprisingly, people still remember the sting and another OZBer recently mentioned it here.

      • +1

Back of the pack says sim will expire 365 days after purchase date if not activated.

My Boost prepaid plan will expire on the 6th of January, and I have less than 2GB remaining on it (bought a 170GB 12-month SIM from cell-point for $190, waiting to arrive), so this couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks, OP. 😁

No probs Daddy,. Port to this for 28 days then over to your new 12 month plan, winning.

        That's the plan, WN. 😄

  • Is there a limit per account for the flybuys points?

    • 2.

      • Thanks sire

        • +1

It's in the T&C's that there is a limit of of "2 per eligible customer" for the SIM cards, so I'm assuming that extends to how many flybuys offers will be applied to your account.

Could be wrong but I'm not going to be the one to test it!

    • Limit 2 per eligible customer. However, this terms usually appears under any similar deal, and may not apply to flybuys offer. Catalog page 49 has the details.

In practice, I would only purchase one under one flybuys. In history, it is not uncommon for flybuys to credit bonus only once for more than one eligible items. I can't be bothered to contact it for the missing pts.

Both sale price and flybuys offer are valid till 31 Dec.

      • Thanks

I bought one yesterday and got the 1000pts this afternoon, I then bought another one on the same flybuys account. I'll update here tomorrow afternoon whether I get the second 1000pts or not.

            @wavesgreen: I appreciate your bravery

            • +4

@Royale with cheese: Got my second 1000pts through. Notation for each was 'Vodafone Offer_bonus Points'.

I won't be trying for a third one on the same account haha.

              • +1

@wavesgreen: Thanks for sharing. I will biy two tomorrow

                • @Royale with cheese: Let us know how you go! With these sorts of offers I always buy one a day and wait for the points to land before buying another just because like Neoika said I get a bit paranoid of flybuys only applying the offer to the first item when buying multiple. I vaguely remember it happening to me one time long, long ago.

But maybe I'm being a little too paranoid.

                  • @wavesgreen: Was also paranoid a while back with a different offer and ended up checking out in 2x separate payments albeit on the same visit and still got the points in the end. From the comment directly below it seems like even that was unnecessary lol.

                  • +1

@wavesgreen: The reverse can happen, I redeemed 2000 FlyBuys points on shopping and then within 24 hours I was able to redeem again. I am currently still in negative points (-525 points).

                    • +1

@peter: I go negative all the time. The 2000pts gift card promotions are fiends for that.

                • +1

@Royale with cheese: I bought another Vodafone sim yesterday as this offer was in last week's catalog, got my 1000pts through this afternoon.

So that was 3x 1000pts on the same flybuys account all up but spread across two catalogs.

Bought two SIMs in one transaction and received 2,000 points.

Warning about porting - you must be able to reply to their SMS in order to port. The Vodafone call centre is apparently unable to bypass this.

    Incredibly annoying.

    • Yeah I found that with Lebara too.

(Edit: didn't end up needing to contact CS tho)

    • +1

You can reply to it on an expired plan, i.e. no cost. This issue has been sorted out ages ago. It just means you still need to hold the SIM card for that number. Otherwise, others can steal the number.

Issue was fixed in 2020 with others' confirmation. Kogan Mobile is operated by TPG/Vodafone.

      • +1

I'll be damned, didn't think that would work but I was able to reply to Vodafone's SMS from expired Woolworths Mobile, and received Vodafone's auto-response promptly.

        Thank you.

        • Even while overseas without roaming etc have been able to reply with a single digit text to bank and credit card payment verifications.

        • It may be still an issue when someone ports number to a less known MVNO, not Vodafone network though.
