    Filters cheap to buy?

    • This is the real question (but given it’s a Chinese one they’ll probably be cheap)

    • Xiaomi branded ones can be found cheap every so often. Harris Technology have some for $44 currently. Kogan are $50+

    • usually $30

      • Not for genuine ones. Very rarely less than $40.

        • true but the one i get is the purple one that sold a lot. it works great and rfid works and recognises the filter.

          • @Hugh G Rection: Where did you get your filters from ? Would you mind sharing ?
I'm looking to replace my filters for my Xiaomi 3 and 4 with filters that has rfid.

          • @Hugh G Rection: Not sure I trust the aftermarket ones. Might not be HEPA or free of VOCs. Given you can stretch the use of a filter for at least 1yr-2yrs I'd just buy genuine and fit a prefilter cloth over the top.

  • I need one of these. But not confident enough as not enough votes. Is this a good price and model, or should I wait for a better deal?

Probably the main downside of all Xiaomi air purifiers is that there isn't a pre-filter in front of the hepa filter to prevent larger dust particles from prematurely clogging it. (The different models are all basically the same imo, but larger models are quieter at any given fan speed)

I get around the lack of a pre-filter by wrapping the filter in cheap-as-chips electrostatic cotton and replacing that when it is obviusly covered in dust, but some people reckon taking the filter out and vaccuming the outside gets rid of the large dust fine. (google "xiaomi electrostatic cotton" and get tons of pre-sized filter coverings)

They are calibrated for heavily polluted chinese cities so in an aussie house the "auto" mode will basically never ramp the fan up, even though aussies will probably want the fan to ramp up as soon as the sensor goes over "001". You can set up a custom profile but I just have it set a little over the lowest fan speed all the time.

Also it will tell you the filter is expired and needs replacing at like half it's real life-span, again because we aren't in a dense Chinese city. Some people have ways to trick the RFID sensor but I can't be bothered, seeing the screen say "0%" filter half the time doesn't bother me

      • Thanks. Sounds like it’s good enough for my purposes for now. Cheers

  • Is Shop1102377231 a reputable vendor?

    • Already covered in the post.

    • Those are non genuine filters

      • Any links to genuine filters?

  • Thanks got one

  • received today after almost a month from AliExpress… Region has to be Chinese Mainland within the App to connect. Works seamlessly , even with the App. Filter quality is also decent. Device can be managed very well with the miHome App.

    • Mine came last week. Yes shame on the Chinese mainland item, else is great. Bigger than I thought.
