I haven't but it's a good idea as the middle shelf is adjustable so you could probably fit a few spools on each shelf.
As with much of my OzBargaining, I bought one of these a few years ago and am still trying to find a good spot for it in our house.

this thing is actually great, at full price too. good deal.
we have a stupidly sized gap in our laundry between the washing machine and the sink unit and nothing was the right size / material / functionality to go there and be useful. cue an unrelated walk through ikea and finding this thing. eyeballed it, fit like a glove. gets the laundry detergents et al, first aid kid, and misc cleaning items out of the way perfectly. not sure how i lived without it now…
