  • Why these rollers are so expensive?

    • Generally they are not….do you mean the motor or the blind?

      • -2

        Only the motor

  • Do you have weight based recommendations for your Q1.1 and Q2.0 motors?

I have existing black out roman blinds which fit easily in 2D measurements, but have failed on capability to control the blind without issue because of the weight.

    • Weight depends on the tube size. Send us a photo of your setup and happy to give advice based on that.

  • Interested in this - I think - just having trouble visualising what it is and how it is installed.

Do you have an installation video?

    • https://youtu.be/NWmUBQoFroA - Not our video - I'll make one for customers but for now this is an indepth explainer..

      worth checking comments on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/881553

      • Strange - that's the second comment we've had about this. I'm not seeing it nor having issues in SEMRush / Google Page Dev etc.

It's just a Wordpress Woocommerce store; pretty plain site to be honest since I wanted it separated from our main site. It's legit - you can call us and buy over the phone if you're concerned (08) 8336 2066.

I have 8 of these connected to my home assistant to rise and lower depending on sunrise and sunset time.. simple, effective and work pretty well on some pretty large blinds. I do not use the mobile app so cannot comment on that aspect, solar recharge is a gimmick but apart from that works well. The heavier the blind the quicker the drainage and slower the lift operation. But recharge takes about an hour and lasts 2 months on average with twice daily operation

But according to the description (6th photo) they run on "Core Nuclear Energy"

You shouldn't have to charge them at all, just wear lead pyjamas.

      • Seems like a good marketing line - "Our motors live longer than you will"

    • I had one similar to this for my blackout Roman blinds, and this style of motor attached to cord just isn't strong enough for the weight of the blind.

      • +1

Unless your Roman blinds weigh heavier than a 5 litre bottle then you should reconsider.. the first one I bought..I filled a 5 litre bottle of water and hooked it up and the motor did fine .. maybe you have heavier blinds than that,,I do not which is why I ordered 7 more and am pretty happy with them ..I have no idea which one you bought..I bought the Aqara E1 first at a higher price and I was pretty happy with then then I saw these .. the brilliant bit is it is as simple as sticking a double sided tape and putting these units in play.. But horses for courses ..I guess

  • Ordered a couple of blinds from the last deal post - arrived quickly, good comms, installed and integrated in to my HA instance via the Pulse Hub.

This sale is cheaper than anywhere else including iSeekBlinds who are popular retro sellers.

    • +1

Thanks @Tock - glad the team looked after things quickly for you.

  • Anyone can comment on the "pulse hub" and the software support?
$300 is a lot for a 433Mhz hub Can these blinds be controlled by a generic remote/hub?

    • Rolling code so I use the Pulse Hub - can't comment on support, but they have an app that works fine for managing the blinds (or pairing then pushing to HA which has an integration).

    • Yeah - $300 if needed to get these to work with Home Assistant is a deal breaker. Shame - was about to get 5 of them.

      • +1

Hey - Ok - we hadn't offered a special on the Pulse Hub. I'll offer it at $199 inc GST till Christmas to help. That'll be the cheapest anywhere by far. Does that help the dealbreaker?

Thanks Stan. I had previously used external "chain pulling" devices, but often screwing these into the wall wasn't possible after a recent move. These post brought my attention to this type of solution and it was very attractive. But I am a very heavy Home Assistant and Zigbee user I wasn't too keen on the 433Mhz control and another device to power and support. I did some searching and found a zigbee solution that I ordered this morning that should easily attach to my existing setup. Hopefully the quality stacks up. Thanks for taking the time and the discounted offer which I feel for people who are not a Home Assistant nerd (ie - still have a life!) this solution would be a great one for them.

          • @glenn955: All good.

HA gives you life … :)

I've been personally involved in the Zigbee vs 433 debate for the Australian Market with Somfy, Dooya, Acmeda … there is not a super clear path currently. There are number of tradeoffs currently.

I still think 433 with a hub (maybe with a Zigbee/Matter chip inside some day) is a good path but difficult to know.

        • Great offer - tempting to grab one to replace my older/original Hub.

      • I had the same issue originally, ended up with $80 motors that support zigbee instead - unsure on quality comparisons.
        Good price for local stock

        • Can you let me know what you ended up getting?

  • I got my blinds from DIYBlinds (sorry) will these motors fit their range of roller blinds? If so I'll jump on and grab 2 and a controller. Thanks!

    • 99% sure. If you want you can email us a picture of the ends of the blinds and we'll confirm - [email protected]
