    • Ran it through a few scan sites, nothing malicious found. Business is legitimate, is on Google Maps, etc…

Also, this is a great price for these motors. I have a full set of Acmeda motor blinds and the cheapest replacement motor I've found is iSeekBlinds for $189 for the same motor as OP listed.

    Hey Thanks @AsukaST

Definitely legit company and deal but we are generally a Bricks & Mortar focused Adelaide Retailer.

The shop site is new…and still a bit buggy so we're working through that. We'll check your feedback and try to find the reason for the issue.

  • What's the maximum weight these can hold? Looking to add to a 180 x 240mm roller blind which I think weighs about 6kg?

      Motor Size Comparison:
Q1.1 Motor: Ideal for smaller to medium-sized shades up to (2.5m wide x 3.0m drop)
Q2.0 Motor: Designed for larger shades (3.2m wide x 3.5m drop)
Shade Dimensions: Ensure your shades are wider than 600mm to allow for the motor length.
System Compatibility: Verify that your roller system (e.g., S45, S35) supports the 12mm tongue bracket and is ARC-compatible.

Q1.1 does about 2.5 x 3.0m Blind Size - If you're right at both edges of the limit you can go with the 2.0nm which does larger..

  • If you're unsure whether your blinds are compatible with the Q1.1 motor, we’re here to help!

  • Any chance these can be joint to a Zigbee network for those of us who run HomeAssistant?

  • Yes & No…

The Pulse Hub connects well into Home Assistant (https://github.com/sillyfrog/Automate-Pulse-v2) but uses the RF signal to control the blinds.

But the motors do not currently use Zigbee. Only the latest generation Somfy Motors do (but they are very expensive)

  • So these motors connect to the pulse hub? How do the range on these compare with the Acmeda?

    • Yes they connect.

These are the Acmeda Automate motor so similar to all the other ones in the current generation. Better than the first generation.

  • I had Raex throughout my last new build.
Lasted approx 3 years til completely useless, suspect batteries died as all remotes unpaired and was never able to get them all connected again, even with power directly connected to the motors.

About to do another build and very torn on whether I bother.

What are the batteries like nowadays?
If the battery fails and charger is plugged in, will these work?

    Appreciate OP response in anticipation

    • I don't specifically have experience with the Raex brand motor so can't give you much explanation on your experience.

The Automate motor is by Rollease Acmeda which is Australia's largest designer of Blind System…so a major brand.

The Automate motor has had a couple of generations and their current generation is about 5 years in the market. Their failure rate has been really low. The first job we did was a family members and they're still going. We would have thousands in the market and although there have been some returns; really low.

So how are the batteries - depends on size of blind and frequency of use but we say recharge every 6 months. In my own home I've found it needs to be rendered about once every 18 months… But I'd rather be conservative in marketing.

We haven't had any yet where the battery has died or has needed recharging really often due to charge capacity being so reduced. In the previous generation we saw issues where customers left them permanently trickle charging so we don't recommend that, but the latest generation seems to cope with that better anyway.

If the battery dies plugging them in is unlikely to work.

We are also Somfy specialists and sell lots of both brands. In my own home I use Automated battery & 240v.

      So in summary -

I am confident you won't have the same experience. I think Automate is a great balance of technology, reliability and price.

      • Thank you for the detailed response ! Greatly appreciated
