I kind of expected some more hype ozito sales during black Friday / pre Boxing Day… it’s like one of the best times to try and capture market share.

    • +2

Agree. Perhaps they planned these for Black Friday but couldn't get stock in-store in time?

      • +1

they had the cheapy intro drill set, and i think a special black friday edition stick vac.

i can only think maybe ozito market share might have reached saturation point - and they're the only half decent , affordable AND easily accessed tool brand, often with a cheapy bundled battery…so they're prob just like heres the rrp, take it or leave it. Coming up to holiday season, most people will probably doing that ONE big project they've been putting off for the last 11 months - so wont have much choice anyway.

    • +1

Yeah had an eye out for a saw but nothing

      • +2

Pretty Cut up about it, back to the grind I suppose….

    • +1

lol yeah bunnings are reaaaaaaly struggling with market share. masters are eating them up.

      • Yeah, the only time they have discounts now is when Aldi sells something similar.

  • a bit of a meh deal.

    • +5

$119 for the skin + $69 for the battery + hard case compatible with the modular system…easy $200 of value.

      • -1

Looking at historic deal, If the box is worth $50 then yeah this is not too bad of a deal. Me personally would wait for the $99 combo or even skin only deal.

      • -1

I don't think the box fits the modular system

    • +9

Agree, previous skin deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/846207 to put current prices in perspective.

      • +5

That was a cracker of a deal.

  • +5

Case appears to be compatible with the Connect Modular Storage Set.

Nice one OP, been waiting for a deal on a brushless grinder.

    • +1

You are right. I forgot about it when doing the post. Will add that in the description. Cheers.

    • Been looking for an additional box and didnt have a brushless grinder.

      • $149 for the box with a free grinder kit thrown in lol.

What's your experience been with the modular storage set?

        • Its no milwaukee, but better than anything else for the price. If you aint using it for trade then id say its fine

          • @Koolchops: Sweet. Told wifey that's what I want for xmas so happy days. Will grab this grinder kit too. Thanks for the feedback!

  • +3

This is great - put this in the boot just in case you need to free from the wheel clamp…

  • Hide your bikes, angle grinder is on sale …

    • +1

few understand the power of a grinder against a lock

      • I think it's often more the speed factor

    • -1

yeah thieves wait for sales to steal tools

  • +3

this to compete with the beyblade sale earlier today?

  • +1

nice! now my MBP 16 will fit in that cool discounted tomtoc bag..

  • Are those 2 additional kits the ones we got for $49 each for the skins only a while back?

Opened and checked mine, but still haven't used them. I couldn't resist at that price though. Got plenty of batteries and chargers now anyway …

  • +5

    i don't need it, i don't need it, i don't need it.

    purchased, transaction complete.

    • That made me chuckle.

  • As a casual home renovator, this thing is really useful.

  • Thanks OP , I bought the Brush-less grinder yesterday - swapped for this deal today.

  • On the topic of these modular case kit things - anyone know anything compatible with the SCA toolpro ones? They only seem to have the base on clearance now and is out of stock everywhere but I just need some new smaller cases up top

  • I reckon the skin only deals are better value, especially since you can get 2 4ah batteries and a fast charger for $99 at the moment

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-115mm-cordless-ang…

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-reciproca…

    • The models you linked aren't brushless like the ones in this deal. Both brushless skin only equivalents are $149 and $169 respectively.

Thats also only a 115mm Grinder where as post is 125mm.

      • nah $119 for the angle grinder, so it's $30 more for an extra battery, charger and case

        https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-125mm-brushless-an…

i have way too many batteries and chargers already and don't need a case. how much can you flog off extra batteries and chargers for?

        • Op, yep, grabbed the multitool price, either way closer in price than the 115mm brushed version.

4Ah that comes with the grinder RRPs for $69 (I know you can find the promo double kit for $99, but apples to apples, the normal double kit is $149) , you could probably flog it and the charger on FB for $30-40, another $20-40 for the case depending how patient you are.

Gotta remember not everyone lives on OzBargian, and this deal isn't meant for everyone. It's a great starter kit, not so great if your 10 batteries into the ecosystem already.
