Starlink Mini Satellite Internet Kit $299 (+ $80/Month 50GB Roam, $195/Month Unlimited Roam) + $34 Delivery @ Starlink

1410

Starlink have advertised the Starlink Mini kit for $299 instead of $599 or $799. It is still full price on other sites, so maybe price match. Site says deal is valid till January 30th

Requires $80pm for 50gb roaming subscription, cancel anytime as needed. For more roam data the $195pm is unlimited.

Starlink Mini is designed for connectivity on the go and can easily fit in a backpack. Starlink Mini is a portable, all-in-one compact kit with a built-in Wi-Fi router, lower power consumption, a DC power input, and max speeds over 100 Mbps.

Credit to Dorz for his post, which I basically copied and modified. Thanks for the details and formatting.

Referral: random (95)

The referrer and referee receives bonus credit for a month of standard service, 30 days after the referee activates and keeps their Starlink. Referrals will only issue credits to Standard Plan (Residential) and Mobile Regional (Roam) subscriptions. Kits purchased from a retailer or reseller are not eligible for the referral program. No credit will be given even if a referral link was used during activation.

Thanks, I'm thinking of a place to have it while in motion.. Easier than putting holes in the roof to mount on the outside. I guess I'd just have to test it and see (or maybe on the passenger side of the dashboard!

Has anyone successfully received credit for the Roam 50 GB plan through the referral program?

I read Starlink's referral knowledge base, and it states:
"Referrals will only issue credits to the Residential and Roam Unlimited subscriptions. (No Priority or Roam 50GB services)."

I’m curious if anyone has been denied credit for the Roam 50 GB plan. Would love to hear your experiences!

  • Wondering if this is going to work on cruises, would be very nice

  • UPDATE: Bunnings have removed it from their website. Will see if my order gets delivered.

Bunnings have dropped their price to $298
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/starlink-mini_p0674372?srsltid=A…

No stock in store but $10 delivery

      • Likewise, but if you search the IN number 0674372 it briefly comes up but then 404s. Video here.

If you went into store and did a special order, probably get it for the price but they might charge $30 shipping like others have said.

Overall, would be easier to buy through Starlink and have it shipped to your door than doing two bunnings trips and stuffing around with special orders.

  • If anyone is interested, I bought this case before the price went up. I got it for $56 after $5 eBay Plus Coupon.

A few others around but were OOS. I wasn't going to buy an expensive one, its better than the original box.

  • Hey folks. When I try to order the Starlink the shipping is coming up as $64 - there are two buttons under the services for $30 and $34 which are selected by default and cannot be unselected.

Is this right? I thought shipping was supposed to be $30. I have tried getting it shipped to different addresses (some in NSW, some in the ACT) but all come up with shipping at $64.

    • Okay, so just tried ordering on my iPhone and the shipping came up at $34 - which I accepted. A bit strange that it wasn't calculating it correctly when ordering on my computer using a desktop browser.

All my checks were done on a desktop and logged out of my account, showed $34, never got $64.

    • This looks new (like last 24 hours). I did an order for a Standard Kit yesterday and it was $30. Today, its $34 and to a few other VIC postcode (metro + regional), its showing as $34.

So sounds like they are changing their shipping.

Yeah, thanks for the confirmation. Guess I shouldn't have hesitated on ordering…cost me $4 more ;)

    • So looks like based on other comments, postage is now $34 Australia wide.

  • No discount on the plan? Reading somewhere said there was.

Only if you have a residential plan already you can get the 80GB for $50 a month. But no pause option I’m told.

So you would pay $189 a month for residential and mini roaming 80GB.

Here said reducing to $30 for the roam 50GB (should be in AUD), yeah probably targetted. $30 and no pause sounds good to me if I am eligible but think not.

I’m eligible, got the email a few days after the special. Got my kit and need to activate it. Will see if it’s automatic and gives me the discount.

          • @geekcohen: Keep us updated. Good for you if it does. But they calls it Starlink Mini Bundle maybe only for those who bought that. Idk.

            • +1

@bcYield: It doesn't look like it's automatic because I ordered my mini before I got the email. I've submitted a ticket to Starlink and attached the email offer I got.

              @bcYield:

Thank you for being a loyal Starlink customer!

              • @geekcohen:

                hardware discount

Nice. Any luck with the plan discount?

                • +1

@bcYield: I've followed up on that.

                • +1

                  @bcYield:

We've applied the discount for the Mini + Plan to your account. Moving forward, you'll be paying $50 for the 80GB Data plan when bundled with your residential service. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out!

The interesting thing is that I still have a "Pause" option for the plan.

                  • +1

@geekcohen: That's sweet. I wish I had the same option. 50-80GB could cover my needs on the go.

                    • +1

@bcYield: If you have a residential subscription, why not email and ask?

                      • @geekcohen: I've not subscribed yet. I still have some Boost sims around that I can use. Maybe I can ask them for a discount for now and put a pause on it?

                        • @bcYield: Apparently, the 50GB Roaming cannot be paused (but it shows it for me). You cannot pause the Residential Plan either.

                          • @geekcohen: Can you try to pause and unpause, and see if it does anything?

                            • @Jayphen: I got this message prior to confirmation:

You can reactivate service at any time and billing will revert to the current standard monthly subscription fee.

Not going to pause based on that.

                              • @geekcohen: That's a confusing message - hard to tell if it is saying it will revert to $80, or if it is just the default message. Hopefully someone else will guinea pig

  • This is now available at officeworks, can try 5% price beat + gift cards

    • Officeworks wouldn't price match for me over the phone

      • Did you try sending them a receipt from someone who bought it from Bunnings?

        • Just tried today and they have a notice out from Head office not to honour. They are using the clause buried in the Starlink help page as justification to weasel their way out of it "If purchasing through an authorized retailer, a one-time credit equivalent to the amount listed below will be applied to your Starlink account after activation."

  • Just chatted with Bunnings online and they said they are completely out of stock nationwide
