Next best price I can find is $114 (exc. delivery) so this seems like a fantastic deal. I've bought from Computer Alliance a few times before and they've always been good to deal with.

Agreed. Signal strength is fantastic.
Agreed. I bought it as a short term solution until I upgraded but it's been solid and covers good distance for Wi-Fi. Hard to justify upgrading now.
Is this good to replace Netcomm Nf20mesh modem from Aussie broadband?
If you’re using landline cable (adsl) then you’ll have to chain the router and your modem.
How does this compare to the tp-link ax10? I just bought that for about $70 and wondering if this is worth the $20 upgrade.
I'm a casual user with 100/20 nbn speed. Would I notice any notable improvement to speed or range?
Would this provide coverage for a 2 story house?
Not that simple, question is where are you going to put the router in the house? If it's central location then yes. If it's at one end of the house it's possible but signal at the opposite end may not be as good.
Would I need to buy 2 to connect them wirelessly to boost signal. Is that how it works?
You might need a TP-Link Deco 2-pack or 3-pack instead of the Archer.
You probably won't need to do that if you can position the router well.
Have to use a LAN cable to bridge them. If you don't want to use cables then go for the Deco or Orbi mesh systems.
@Inyokuchi: Bridge using an Ethernet cable in the lan ports to keep on the same subnet. Use the wan port on one for connection to your modem.
@rygle: What's the difference between having two routers vs a mesh 2 pack
Out of stock already!
Ozber Mondayed
I've also got one of these + a RE705x to give decent signal strength all around my three-bedroom house. Well done TP-Link!
bought this one for about $150 from amazon and it works well
Does it have voip??
Nop , voip is old teach
Dodo needs me to have voip to use phone. Any good modems with voip
I had this and for whatever reason it just goes completely offline randomly. Bought a new router and it does the same thing so not sure where to go from here 😬 any good network technicians to contact? More NBN customer service is hopeless as it isn’t their own provider router
More NBN customer service is horrible. Most the issues are due to netcomm modem nf20mesh
The modem I have is the eero 6+ I think
Oh ok
I've just picked up BE5000 for the same price
Where from?
Me three?
Is it the tp link BE5000, from where
Share the linkProbably the Xiaomi. I'd pass on that.
Includes free back to base communication with China.
Don't use any of this cheap Chinese stuff unless you can install proper OpenWrt on it, as in you check the model is supported and download it from the OpenWrt site and install it, or you don't mind your bank details being shared.
@rygle: The specs tend to be more of a dealbreaker to be honest, despite my unique position to comment on the firmware.
Single 2.5gbit port. Possibly a bottleneck come next September and the Home Hyperfast (2gbit) plans.
Weird CPU. It's 2 Cortex A53 configured to run in ARMv7. No OpenWrt support as of yet, although there are very similar parts in the Airoha/Econet portfolio that are.
No USB ports (Complicates running a failover)
No 6ghz radio because it's for the Chinese domestic market.
Maybe my standards are too high now…In regards to security… I think Xiaomi routers might technically begin to be somewhat harder to sell as a local vendor after the Cyber Security Bill 2024 goes into force, specifically in regards to the security standards and certification. While I suspect this targets IP cams and baby monitors more, the wording more or less covers anything with a network connection. Depends on how hard they want to enforce it, or try make AliExpress comply as a vendor…
@Namidairo: People put up logs of xiaomi routers calling home on the OpenWrt forums.
Most of the WiFi 7 chips aren't supported yet by OpenWrt except for a small few with MediaTek Filogic chips. In any case there are hardly any phones or other client devices that connect with WiFi 7 anyway.
Thanks OP. Just needed one to replace my old D-Link that was vulnerable to a 9.8 critical hit.
Is this compatible with Telstra NBN?
TP-Link Archer AX55 is compatible with all providers.
I have the ax72, flawless for the last 2 years the supplied one kept shiting itself with high loads a d needed a restart, is compatible with TPG so id say this one is too.
No mesh capability, pass.
Not sure what you mean?
TP-Link Archer AX55 AX3000 router is compatible with mesh networking (says AI)TP-Link Archer AX55 has TP-Link OneMesh support.
Noob here, why this and onemesh extender over 2-3 pack Deco?
You can use OneMesh if you already own the Archer AX55.
I'd go with a Deco setup if you're starting from scratch.
Yes it does. I'm using it with a Powerline adapter and the OneMesh system is working flawlessly.
I have ax1800 router sitting in garage and I am getting good signals in other corner of the 1st floor - no issues during zoom calls etc. Before moving into this 2 storey house, I thought may be I need mesh system but so far I have been doing fine with 1 ax1800 router.
My order was just cancelled.
Mine too.
What is available now: TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router $134 and TP-Link Archer AX1800 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router $97
How can I use telstra nbn home phone with this?
—- is an ethernet cable.
Telstra modem/router LAN port —- TP-Link Archer LAN port.
Configure the TP-Link Archer as a Wi-Fi access point.
My order was just cancelled.
Been rocking one of these for about 6 months as an upgrade to the Starlink router and it has been absolutely rock solid. Highly recommend for a good affordable router.
