  • banger price.

  • 75" C755 vs 65" C855. Someone convince me which one to buy.

    • C855 is obviously superior but is it $400 or so more superior is debatable. I am picky and always try get the best of what i want, but i wait for deals for it.
If you're happy to wait you could snag the 75 c855 for around $1400 boxing day possibly, but it's a gamble!

    • 75" C755 vs 65" C855: personal preferences ?

65" C855: maybe a $1.2K clearance price is near…May-25 at the latest? But if many buyers are snaping them up @ the higher prices, then there's NO stock to clear…maybe wait until C856 clearance? Or Sony 65" X90L or similar. Some OzBargainers is adamant that 'Box Damaged' is NO risk?

    • +1

I got the 65" C855 earlier this year and use it in a room where the couch is ~2m from the TV; the size is pretty ideal at that distance; almost too large if you're watching a scene with subtitles and there's multiple characters talking simultaneously (when they sometimes do subtitles at the top and bottom of the screen).

I picked the C855 for ~$1300 (got JB to price-match Appliances Online) over the lower-end ~$1000 models because I like to watch content in a dark room and so the mini-LED local-dimming of the C855 was a key selling point for me - in use I definitely notice it; you do get a very slight glow around bright objects on a black background, unlike with OLED, but the high contrast is really apparent whenever you have something like the Plex loading / splash screen, or the Apple TV logo at the start of a show.

The only real downsides I've had with it are minor settings / situational issues; like I've got a window with blinds directly behind my couch (so plenty of outdoor light leakage leading to glare - getting around to setting up blockout curtains in the near future) and while it does okay and I could turn up the brightness to further improve it, I can't be bothered going into image settings every time it's light or dark out. Likewise it comes with a motion-smoothing setting enabled by default, which is easy enough to turn off, but the thing is it's actually quite good 90% of the time… but also terrible 10% of the time due to visible warping, so I leave it off.

      • Thanks for a candid review considering the paid reviews rarely mention the cons of many TVs, be it minor in this case.

OLED is x2+ the price & not sure if people are willing to pay…I've seen both.

  • I'm seeing the 75" C755 as $1,494.. not $1,344.60?

    • at check out

      • Yep, it's definitely one of those days for me :(

EDIT: Upvoted the deal as I bought one. Now I just need an AV receiver that supports VRR passthrough!

  • 98" C855 still works out to be around $5.2K

    Hoping for around $4.5ish.

JB doesn't have it listed at the moment, I think due to stock.

    • C755 was 3800 a few weeks about at HN.
I'm holding out for that again

      • What are your thoughts on c755 vs c855 for the 98"?

        • Seen them side by side and 855 does look better but depends on the price. If it's only $500 more I'd get it but it's like a 1k most of the time

  • 65" Gone

  • 10% cashreward works?

    • Yes

  • I have a 55 OLED, really want to upgrade to a bigger size, 75in feels right at this price. Will loss some pictures quality, so tempting.

    • sold out anyway, peace of mind. lol

  • Well, I purchased the 75" C755 yesterday evening and booked delivery for today 03/12. I hadn't received any update at noon regarding delivery, so gave them a call and was advised there was no stock in Melbourne, so delivery won't be until 20/12 at the earliest. Apparently it was a glitch on their website as when I check before purchasing, it said they had it at their Melbourne warehouse. Oh well, I can wait a few weeks given I was able to get it for a great price. Thanks OP.

    • They definitely had at least one in their Melbourne warehouse, as I ordered on the 2nd, booked for the 3rd and it arrived after lunch.

      • Called again on 13/12 to get a status update on my delivery and was advised stock was to arrive in Melbourne on 18/12. So you must have received one of the last few from their Melb. warehouse. Now you've had it for over a week, how are you finding the new TV?
