Cool White lights are the devil

Yes, I have my entire house in Hue smart bulbs, setting to cool white makes it look like a hospital/gonna get murdered. Warm white is cosy and nice.

I bought my house a few years back and it had Cool White lights throughout. Started to change them out and realised there was a setting select on the back of the light. Someone had chosen cool white and lived with it for six years before I bought the house. Pretty sure they were a serial killer.. house was a good price though!

Does the house have a bedroom wall with a slight bulge in it, a basement and a concrete patio?
And does the dog like digging in the garden as well?

@alidli: I mean there was a suspicious concrete slab.. but I put a deck over the top of it! The less I know…

I find cool white is fine in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry then warm everywhere else. Though most rooms are on motion sensors, so late at night the toilet switches to warm and 15% for toilet visits.

  • Does anyone know if these can be hacked? And by hacked, I mean reprogrammed to anything other than the questionable software that needs access to your home wifi.

I bought an earlier set and was impressed with the coloured version being able to cycle through unlimited colours

      Probably all on tuya

      • The Genio stuff is hit and miss… the standard globes I got could be converted to ESPhome, but I heard later models/versions were being painful with the firmware updates

They all were originally loaded on Tuya to get the secrets, so I would assume the Tuya app would control them too

These things double as white noise generators if you happen to enjoy the grating tone of coil whine

    • LMAO really
