Ryobi 18v ONE+ Stick Vacuum Cleaner, Hand Vacuum Cleaner & 4ah Battery $199 + $25 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Bunnings

720

Ridiculous deal here.

Vacuum sells for $300, hand vac $99 and battery $99. Yeah there are bundles, but in general $200 is good for the vacuum alone.

Just picked one up and it says Limited Time Only on the box. There is a new Ryobi stick vac that just got released so maybe clearing stock of the old version. But new version just seems to be black instead of green and 800ml cannister instead of 600ml.

Looks like limited stock. Picked mine up before it gets ozbargained.

EDIT:
This is NOT the same vacuum as the Brushless HP (which I thought it was). It's 7kPa suction vs the brushless HP which is 20kPa.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

Campbelltown NSW has stock. Most stores out of stock. Nowhere within 70km of my area in stock.

7kPa suction, might be pretty weak.

The Ozito stick vac that got released over Black Friday sales is 10kPa for $99 with battery and charger too.

Thanks will get the ozito one

    • I couldn't find that information in either of the products. Is that 7kPa for the big or the small one?
      Thanks

      • +5

If you go to the product page, you can download the manual.
It usually states it in the manual. This way you can confirm yourself instead of somebody giving you incorrect information (even if they make an innocent mistake) but it was the manual for the bigger one, and the information was only taken from the manual. Same with the Ozito. So wouldn't be able to tell you if they use the same method to measure the suction pressure or not either, so keep that in mind.
There may also be a difference in suction at the head, the suction measurement they claim is usually at the intake with no attachments.

        • Thanks

      • +1

        7kpa for the big one.

Even the ozito Dustbusters are better than that

    • +1

was checking the ozito post here, people mentioned that aldi one has 20kPa, seems like this 7kPa is pretty low. how is this compare to other suction power XXX AW?

    Got page not found?

I recall being told by a "pawnshop", that these have been famous for the power head rollers "dying". That with a grain of salt, plus it's a warranty problem if it's true and Bunnings are quite cooperative in this department.

Just thought that it might be worth a mention, maybe some owners can corroborate or disprove.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, this might actually apply to the new HP version of the vac.

  • are these vac good? that's the real world runtime

    • Provided I'm correct and this is RB18LXX:

Initially I thought it was kickass. A problem I've faced with many variations of these kind of vacs, is that the cannister intake flap (that bit of rubber that seals under no load and opens under suction is easily clogged if anything remotely large or not uniformly shaped.

Compared to a Dyson V6 Animal, that I use with a Ryobi battery adapter - The Dyson's win hands down, and definitely perform battery than OEM powered when using a One+ HP battery. The head on the Dyson is also better at maintaining good suction thus cleaning power

      • I really need to get one of those adapters. It's my main beef with the Dyson's - they only do one room (I have a hairy dog) and then you have to charge the thing. I've gone back to using my old DCwhatever plugged-in kind.

        • Yep, well with 6x old, low capacity cells inside, it makes sense. Not a great design functionally, but great for 2nd battery (and replacements in less than normal timelines). Consider good degradation of a cell that's not been prepped as 10%/yr, they just keep getting worse!

It changed my view of cordless vacs after purchasing a 2nd V6 Animal to find it wasn't much better than the older one, then a string of sub $200 kits. None of which come close.

          • @parad0x: i only recently learnt that there is an adapter thing exist. where can i buy those adapters? aliexpress?

    • +1

It was pretty rubbish and I returned it the same day I purchased it (this was months ago). Unless they've changed something radically, I'll just stay away from this vac. I got a dyson for less than $400, which has been working fine for my needs. I also have a miele, which will suck the dyson out of its wall mount but that's corded and on a different level.

  • +1

This won’t get ozbargained as it’s pretty average

    • Sums it up. Don't buy to replace anything that isn't dying or very old.

  • +2

I think better off going with the $99 ozito stick vac. Most ozbargainers already have heaps of spare 4A batteries sitting around.

    • Any idea what the general feedback consensus was with that model? I'll catch up on the thread comments later, just curious if it's worth checking out

      • +1

Personal experience (picked it up on Friday) is that it's good for the money, comparing to an old Dyson v6 and a Kogan stick vacuum.

Fast charger is a nice inclusion, and the performance was better than I was expecting for $99. Plus Bunnings is pretty good with returns and warranty, so figured worth the shot.

Do not buy either of these. Had them both, and both suck. But not in a good way. Ryobi's newer stick vacs were released because the old version was terrible. The small hand vac isn't much better.

    • Agree! We had one at work (prob the old one) and it was terrible even on hard floors. A cheapie I got from Amazon (plenty that have rave reviews but only good for hard floors really), and its a lot better. Even the cheap kmart ones are better.

    • I have this stick vac and really like it. I can almost guarantee the dust buster is bad though since they universally are.

      • Correction I have the brushless version.

    • The small hand vac is basically landfill from new. Useless as a vac

    • I bought the old version, was terrible. Even at the heavily discounted prices it was a useless piece of junk no better than an old school dustbuster with a pipe taped to it. This looks better, but it's not competing in the saturated Chinese stick vac market, it's just common sense

    • I use the hand vac with the accessory kit a lot. I find it really useful.

Link to $99 Ozito PXC kit with battery and charger for OzBargainers with Ozito batteries. Already has some comments from people who have bought it.

Ah reading the comments make me feel good to be broke. It looked like a good idea.

  • I saw this one in store. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-hp-brushless-hand-…
Is that good enough to be used along with a robovac (Dreame L10 Pro Ultra something)?
We have a 10yo original Dyson vac (not handheld).
I have only one 4yo 4ah and one new 2.5ah batteries.
    Thanks.

Also thinking of buying a brushless 18v blower (also $200 at the moment)

    • +1

I must say, whenever the 240v Dyson finds its way into use around the house, I relish my time with it at the beginning, because it's just flawless, and definitely still well ahead of a v7 (newest corsless Dyson I've used), but the constant tugging it behind you and knoting yourself up in hose make it a poor experience overall. We kept our 240v for those times we want to give the carpet a good "deep" clean.

      • Thanks.
I feel that after 10 years, the suction is quite weak. We have never serviced or though. Is there any way to the recover its original suction power?

        • Are you keeping the filter clean? A clean filter also keeps the vacuum quieter.

  • +1

This vac isn't known to be good. Best to avoid and spend elsewhere.

  • try this link https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-4-0ah-stick-and-ha…

Seems like a good deal to me

    • -1

You mean the exact same one the OP created this deal for?

      • link didn't work previously, its fixed now

        • no need to get upset and neg, just trying to help

  • Best way to look at it is this: Ryobi is the reliable home use handyman tool brand. Their products do vary, some excel and some disappoint. But if you honestly wanted a GOOD drill/saw whatever, you'd look elsewhere.

Same applies to vacuum cleaners… But I feel it applies more so, as so many companies try and fail at making them. Now this is a tool company, with poor prior history (handvac v1 anyone lol) trying to break into a specific market segment that is unlike majority of its range.

With all these things in mind, there are better options. If you're going to do it anyway either save your money and take the Ozito (their performance gap between tools is less than people think - for average home users. If you insist on it, and it must be Ryobi, you simply must fork out for the brushless HP+ version.

    • Happy with the brushless HP+. Wouldn't buy this one.

    • You're absoloutely right. This is not the same brushless head or same vacuum sucker part as the HP which is what I thought it was. It's got a crappy head that is the same as the V6 Dyson which is just garbage.

  • +1

The the brushless HP+ stick vacuum is absolutely kickass… Don't think this is the HP+ one though

  • +1

These are shit. Save your money and put it towards a real vacuum.

  • These are great at this price point , sure if you have 379$ go for one+hp but this is well worth 200$ deal.

  • These are weak

  • +2

I’ve once seen one in returns with the comment “doesn’t suck” and I believe it’s a common problem. What I’ve heard happens is that the O ring in the dust collection is loose and falls out while emptying it and then has weak suction. A new O ring is needed to fix it.

  • I really like my one, the one+HP Brushless

  • Had the previous model, a pretty bad model when it come to suction & heavy. Ended up returning to Bunnings and buying a Dyson.

  • Would this combo be a good one to "part out" if you just want the 4ah battery? Or are there better and cheaper kits with a 4ah battery?

  • For cordless vacuums skip Ryobi and get a Dyson.
