That's before 3g shutdown or after.

Many supposed to work still got banned

    • I'm pretty sure it is after because I've kept my eye on this page since around October and didn't previously notice those symbols until last week. A few other phones now have the symbols too including the recently released Vivo X200 series.

Man check the specs on internet
I always see people asking this question without doing basic homework

      • +2

We are talking about the due to 3g shutdown, Telco banning many 4g/5g phones, which you CAN NOT check online. It's not general hardware spec you can read anywhere.

      • -3

        3G
        4G
        5G
Are all seperate frequencies and has no bearing one another just like switching on and off from engineering menu on your phone

      • +3

What does specs have to do with this? Which homework do you do to tell which device got manually whitelisted?

I'd only trust a Xiaomi if it were Australian stock

    • Agree that times are a bit uncertain for Chinese phones however you can find some IMEI examples (even Chinese models) on some Youtube unboxing videos to check on the Telstra site. I've also managed to obtain some IMEI for the Xiaomi 15 (China Version) and Vivo X200 Pro Mini (China version) by contacting sellers and the Telstra checker confirms it's not blocked.

With all things considered I think the Xiaomi 14T being the global variant and on the global page says it supports B28 (28A + 28B) you should be safe.

If Australian stock, price would be double just to cover the cost of doing business in this country 😏
Just like Oppo Find X8 Pro price.
No wonder Oneplus stopped selling their phones in Australia

      • +2

Agree, I could not believe the price for the Oppo Find X8 Pro at JB-HiFi when the China version is equivalent to $1270 AUD. Phone prices are crazy these days with some people paying $2000 for Samsung/Apple top models with inferior specs to Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi/Oneplus etc. Latest reports of the s25 is that it won't have the new silicon-carbon batteries and who knows if the Exynos chip will be equivalent to the new Snapdragon elite chip.

It's probably going to take Apple 3 years before they adopt silicon-carbon batteries and of course they'll say they invented it haha :D

Long gone the days where it had microSd and FM radio.

    • Nice

They copied the disclaimer that MyMobile uses when selling imported phones

And just like MyMobile, if you find this phone is IMEI/TAC banned during the warranty period, good luck

  • $962 Kogan ebay plus. Flagship phone with pretty good camera reviews.

    • Nice find thanks for sharing! Guess it's up to the person which seller they prefer. I do like that Best Mobile Phone Australia has an address in Melbourne.

my Xiaomi is a full 5g device got banned. I won't trust these posts

    • What model and variant was it exactly? Can you share the model number? I have seen reports of mainly older models prior to 2024 being blocked.

    • +1

You do know that first Xiaomi 5g device was Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and since then 100s of models were released.

Better to mention which model was banned rather than posting half @ssed info.

      • My poco x3 nfc was blacklisted by Telstra even though specs say it can do telstra bands and volte

    • Lol what & why would be the reason

        • +2

          You didn't answer the question.

      • SIMPLE! China bashing. Very HOT since the last decade. Where have u been? 😜

        • Careful I had over 30 OzBargainers recently try to call out my bluff for pointing out that there's China bashing people here. The pro censorship crowd is strong.

I remember when Xiaomi phones were flagship killers for around $400. Actually I'm still using my Mi 9T purchased in March 2020 it's that good.

    • Given the price of flagships these days $900 to $1000 is cheap. What's a 512gb iPhone or s24u cost?

    • +1

I am still using Mi 9 purchased in 2019, no intention to upgrade

    • +1

Telstra blocked my Xiaomi 9T when 3G closed this year and it was purchased in Feb 2020 but I believe other Telcos used software and didn't block these phones.

      • Yeah it's annoying but as I mentioned below, mine is working on Vodafone.

    • +1

Nice, I got mine in Feb 2020 and just bought the Motorola neo edge 50 in the recent $200 deal. Can't wait to see how it compares.

      • Interested as well, especially the camera because the Mi 9T is awesome.

  • My Xiaomi stopped working when the 3G shutdown happened. (Not this model).
Still waiting for Xiaomi to get back to me/us with an update.
Think very carefully before putting more money down on any more of their products, until they begin looking after their customers!

    • +6

Don't know how you can blame them when its Telstra that decided to shut down 3G and at the same time selected specific 4/5G bands to prevent international phones from working.

    • Yeah I was on Amaysim (Optus) and got blocked so moved to Vodafone and it's working. There's some forum posts about it

Thanks OP Love me good Chinese spy phone .
    Changing from OPPO to this

  • is this website safe to buy stuff from?
    FREE SHIPPING
    Dispatch in 1 to 2 Business Day…
how long do you think it would take to arrive? and will it actually arrive? i usually only stick to ebay and amazon and australian sites that have physical stores usually.

    • Man i hope so, seen some reviews its all mixed

  • +1

Look, I really love Xiaomi phones. IMO, this one even beats the S24, which is similarly priced nowadays. Issue is that they have non-existent support in Australia. Hence why I only go for iPhones, Pixels, and Samsungs.

    • I've own phones for 150 years. What support are you talking about?

      • Xiaomi phones breaking like amoled burn, dead pixels, flashing screen, dead touch screen, dead charging port, boot loop, etc. No real support or warranty, unlike the others I mentioned.
