  • +$200 if you want the 100%sRGB screen
+$100 for Ryzen 5 instead of default Ryzen 3

With 40% off, actually you only need to pay $60 for Ryzen 5 and $120 for better 100%sRGB screen with higher screen density

  • I've been playing around the last few hours with different configs and found the 14" build your own pc only has 2 cpu options left, the 5 7535U and the 3 7335U. Both the E14/16 have limitations in their builds because the remove options when they either run out of parts or choose not to provide them during sales…

Is this even an upgrade comparing to older Gen 5?

    • "Starts from $891.97" — and you get one equipped with Ryzen 3 7335U. 4 cores only at the end of 2024?
    • Next CPU upgrade is Ryzen 5 7535HS which is a 2023 Q2 chip running at 35W TDP. Older gen E14 got Ryze 5 7430U which is a 15W chip released in 2023 Q4.

I guess they have finally moved to DDR5 with 2x SODIMM.

      7535HS is Zen 3+, 7430 is Zen 3

    • I really like the 2 RAM slots that can upgrade to 64GB max

    • Good to see scotty leaving the correct title format edits to the power users/mods. Boss move.

    • And your comparing a HS to a U. The 7535U uses 25W. Idd-mn also mentioned zen3+. The 7430 only supports DDR4, PCIe 3.0 where as the 7535U supports DDR5, PCIe 4.0 and has HDMI 2.1, and has a slightly larger L1 cache - I couldn't find whether 7430U supports 2.1 and there maybe other differences.

      AMD Ryzen™ 5 7430U vs 7535U

      • slightly larger L1 cache

Could and most likely is a typo.. since 64k/core for 6 cores is 384kb

Prices quickly escalate as you build a half-decent laptop.

    There's a pre specced Gen 6 AMD for $919

This has a Ryzen 5, 512gb and fingerprint scanner as differences I believe. I bought this a few days ago with ShopBack 20% Cashback and it came to about $736
