This juicer is the US version which is the Omega J8005 juicer and that is the Oscar 900 Vital Max. The cheapest Oscar 900 Vital Max I could find in Australia is $405 shipped.

Here's a FAQ on the Oscar page in the US
http://www.oscar-living-juicer.com/juicing-faqs/oscar-900-in…
"Q- I would like to know the difference between your juicer and the Omega 8005. They appear to be the same…doing the same things.
A- The Oscar Vital Max 900 is the latest model in the Oscar Family, this same model is called the Omega 8005 in the USA. Both the Oscar 8005 and Oscar 900 come with the same features and benefits."

This juicer will require a step down transformer as it's 110v ($20-$60 depending on quality).
I'm not sure about the validity of the warranty and at best it would probably need to be shipped back to the US at your expense.

So this is really a deal which is not for the faint of heart. You have to ask yourself, is the gamble on warranty and the extra transformer requirement worth the hassle to make the saving, I say yes.

This comes with 120V so youll need a transformer.

Also, much noee inferior to the 8004/8006 versiins which have a better auger.

I would pay the extra and get the aus versiin to avoid power issues.

    Still its an excellent price.

    • 8003/8005 are the same model = Oscar 900 Vital Max
8004/8006 are the same model = Oscar Neo 1000

So you can pick up Oscar Neo 1000 for about $500 shipped in Australia or $256.82 shipped from Amazon.

To say much more inferior is a stretch (however subjective) and you have to ask yourself what are the extras worth to you? Is an 8 times stronger auger worth it if all you ever plan to do is juice soft fruits? Up to you to decide really. Extra features can be viewed here:

  • How much current would this device draw? Do you think a cheap transformer in the $20 ~ $60 range will be able to handle the current?

    • 150watt and 120volt and according to the calculator I looked at online that's 1.25amps. Looks fine if you buy the right one. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong though
