Running warehouse has v13 for $149.95 if any body wants to stock up the last years softer model before they’re gone! (limited colour & size though)

  • +5

Works for the SuperComp Trainer v3 (NB version of a super trainer) https://www.newbalance.com.au/pd/fuelcell-supercomp-trainer-…

    • My order on these for yesterday has now been cancelled. Did yours hold up @Jacko1235?

      • Nah just tested the code. I personally use the Hoka Mach X 2s, they are in the top tier for super trainers IF it fits your heel.

  • +2

Yeah don’t think it is 1080 specific - just full price stuff?

  • 15% back with Shopback if it works with that code.

    • -1

      It doesnt

      • We shall see, i got an email saying tracked

        • i got a tracking email too… $24.30

      • +1

My purchase says tracked via the ShopBack app but I'm pretty sure you can't use promo codes in conjunction with it so I'm guessing it will get denied later….

  • Better than Hoka Clifton?

    • -4

no, bounce from the hokas feels more 'energetic'

    • Better is so subjective. Hoka Clifton didn't fit well for me. This is more soft and plush feel. There are other models for bounce and recovery foam

    • The Clifton is firmer.

It’s closer to a Bondi. But it’s still different.

      Both are good.

  • These better than Nike Pegasus and/or Adidas Ultraboost for everyday use (walking, gym, bit of running, etc)?

    • +2

I use them for everything, but mainly because of the level of support it gives me.
I have very flat feet that roll a bit inward, these help so so much.

    • Much better than Pegasus I know that much

      • You've sold them to me. Do I go wide or normal fit? I have wide-ish flatter feet, but have never actually used a wide-fitting shoe before

        • I also have wide feet and that’s why Pegasus is not ideal for me. I wear mine, but usually just for walking rather than running. New Balance fit wide and are soooo comfy. Standard fit is absolutely perfect.

          • @nubzy: In a similar boat, here. My fingers are crossed the sizing suits me 🤞

      • Just bought a pair of Pegasus yesterday from the Iconic deal. FML

        • Super easy returns with Iconic

      • Disagree. I have both and much prefer pegasus.

    • Those listed are slightly narrower fits. The older NB1080 was average to slightly above average width.

These have soft midsoles for easy paced, long runs so I wouldn't want to wear a brand new pair at the gym for any leg exercises.

    • Yes, in my opinion. I tried Pegasus and ultraboosts and these are excellent everyday and travel shoes

    • +1

Yes. I upgraded from Ultraboost to NB 1080’s as a daily shoe. Just be warned V13’s are the bounciest shoes I’ve tried and unstable. V14’s fix the issue imo.

  • +1

Better off purchasing from a seller that has a physical stores network, the New Balance online store operates independently to the stores network, so you can’t go into an NB store for an issue with any product bought online.

My experience with dealing with New Balance online was both frustrating and disappointing for a warranty issue, particularly when they seem to either ignore or be unaware of Australian Consumer law.

Instead of recognising a manufacturing fault as their responsibility and immediately offering a replacement or refund New Balance started by trying to barter, first offering a small discount on another pair shoes and increasing the offer every time I said no and asking where my refund or replacement was.

Got my money back eventually after they agreed once they received the shoes back, from start to finish took about a month.

    • +7

Not many stores sell wide fit.

    • Keep trying. I bought a pair of trail runners (can't remember which ones) which have goretex printed on the side of the shoe but clearly had none (walking through damp grass got my socks wet). I think it's a tactic to reduce the value of any claims.
      ACL can't be argued away.
They gave me a 20% off voucher, then a 40% off voucher then a full refund (but in credit).
Ended up with 1080 v12s which I think are poor quality too. Supportive, but I've never had shoes go bald treaded before. But maybe Im expecting too much or I'm used to trail runners which have a more durable tread.
Ymmv. But I went back and forth on email at least 11-12 times. Worth a shot IMO. I hate paying good money and being treated like a punk

Oh no, you beat me to it. I was about to post this hack:

After trying various items with the code mentioned by @LuckyDrew here, I discovered that some discounted items on the NB Australia site can be further discounted with the code EREBUS40 if they're in the cart with a full price item.

Generally speaking, the code only seems to work with full-priced items (excluding NB's usual exclusions such as Made in USA and Made in UK).

The cheapest full price item I could find was cricket grips at $12.

Combine the grips with the BB480, and you should see a price of $52.20 in cart, delivered.

    Sign-up required for free delivery.

Other shoes I've found to work with this hack:

I haven't been able to discern why some shoes work with this method, and others don't. The 574 I linked earlier for example works for some colourways but not others. Unfortunately it's a matter of trial-and-error for finding a nice bargain.

  • is anyone getting this error ""The payment you submitted is not valid. Please re-enter payment information"

  • +1

Just ordered the V13's for the same price, are the v14s that much more comfortable or the same?

    • +1

I have the v13 and are fantastic. Reviews for the v14 say they are the same but a little firmer.
With the v13 make sure you selected the correct width, they are VERY narrow with not much toe-box room in standard size

    • I have V12,13 and 14. 13’s very bouncy but unstable. 14’s more stable and a better overall shoe imo.

  • -7

Code expired but can use 'BF2422' to bring it down to $81.90

    • Just checked and code still works, your suggestion does not work for me though.

      • Sorry I posted my comment in the wrong deal haha

  • +1

Thanks, this is great as I'm a wide size! Bought a few, will return if it doesnt fit. I find their 30 day return very easy.

  • +3

thanks ! love the 1080v13, was tempted by v14 but dont need additional pair right now, used the coupon for 40% of clothing. Cheers !

  • Thanks, ever since Rose Anvil gave the New Balance 574s a glowing review, I wanted some. That code got me a decent colour not on sale for a tick over $100 with free shipping.

  • Size 8 US in Nike Pegasus 40.. Would I pick the same for this model?

    • +1

After measuring my feet and comparing Nike and New Balance size guide I've purchased the US 7.5 in 1080.

  • Any deals on some New Balance golf shoes?

    • +2

The same code works on all the full priced items, try it out for yourself.

      • Oh it does too! cheers

  • +1

Thanks OP! Just got some socks! Unfortunately the 530s sizes are out of stock but can't complain

  • Hey guys, I am getting the following error when using the promo code. "This promo code is invalid". what am I doing wrong?

    • Just tested and still working for me, make sure the code is correct?

    • They've fixed it. You can't use the code when there are have sale items in the cart

edited: It seems like only some discounted items works

  • Sadly only one colour in my size or I'd have bought 2 pairs

  • +1

Thanks! Got 2 pairs of 1080v14! I've clocked 1036km on my 880v13 and my knees are begging me to stop.

  • +2

Can't go wrong with NB 1080. New Balance designed it to be their everything shoe - the marketing description literally says 'If we only have one shoe it would be the 1080".

  • Thanks love the 1080v13 , just brought the v14

    • +6

      Where did you bring them?

  • These aren't very good as daily running shoes they are too soft and are really only good for recovery runs or walking.

    • I think I'd pick the Rebel or SuperComp Trainer for everyday running

  • Thanks. Code wouldn't apply when trying to buy a pair of Rebel V4's, but adding a pair of the $12 grips linked above to the cart then allowed the code to work.

  • +1

Cashrewards 25% capped $30 hopefully tracks, worth gamble $132 really good if works.

  • +1

    Fantastic first deal!!

    • Hijacked unauthorised promotional code via comments in another post so now many orders being cancelled, not best first deal…

      • Username checks out…

My SC trainers with the code were shipped today. @$198 this certainly helped me out!

Edit…maybe not reading this additional comments…I can only hope!

  • I place the order and after 5 min they Canceled..Any reason ?

  • seems they have stopped the code "EREBUS40This promo code is not applicable to this order"

  • DAMN was gonna think about it overnight now its gone. Could've had some 550s for ~$70.

    • +3

The OzB way is to buy now, ask for forgiveness later

  • Any new codes that work?

  • +3

Got an email saying both of the shoes that I ordered were out of stock and order cancelled… Guess they didn't want to honour the code.

    • Same.

    • I used the code and I received shipping information today.

      • Strange… When I was ordering, it said 6 and 2 in stock. After I processed my payment, I went to check the shoes and it said 5 and 1, so I assumed the website stock level is live. But they cancelled my order.

  • My 1080v14 were shipped and AusPost tracking says label created so should be here in a few days. Hope they are worth the $$ and are good for long, hot summer runs.

    • Same story here!

      • -2

Mate, I hope you haven’t (profanity) me here by creating this deal. Mine says shipped but the tracking says “exception” and “customer enquiry”.

So it seems to be with Australia post but maybe they’re trying to recall it?

        If so…dude.

In fact, tracking says it’s been redirected to their distribution centre.

        You screwed me!

        • -1

Sorry you feel that way, but you're not my type.

    • Some reviews say they can get warm and better as a winter shoe though.

  • -1

In reference to your inquiry, please be informed that the order was cancelled due to the use of an unauthorized promotional code. You may review the terms and conditions regarding the usage of promotional codes at the following link: https://www.newbalance.com.au/promotions-terms-conditions/

??? I asked why was my order cancelled.

  • -3

Ladies and gentlemen - I don’t think they’re going to honour this - and I played myself. Well OP did for creating the deal with a code I mentioned in a comment.

Check your tracking - looks like they’ve got parcels already shipped redirected back to them.

    • Curious to know if you received your order or not. I've never seen a company recall an order that has already been shipped out. Especially odd since some other users below have said they received their orders and also used the code.

      • My shipping went through and arrived at my local sorting facility which is another state btw but then got redirected back to their warehouse with no email notice. Had to call them to find out and they say they will refund me. They said it was an "unauthorised coupon" usage.

  • Mines been posted and on its way. Only used the code in the OP.

    • Yeah have a closer look at the tracking info. Check to see if they’ve changed the delivery address.

  • hmm yeh says 1 item on the way, however on auspost startrack "The sender is preparing the parcel. We should receive it within 3 business days."

  • +2

My delivery has been sent and passed through a couple of auspost facilities so at this stage I'm gonna say mines coming 🎉

  • Tracking on NB says "exception" and auspost says "contact customer"after going through two sorting facilities and two facilities

  • +1

Received mine today. Very comfy and perfect fit with just over one thumbs width of room at the toebox. They do get a bit hot as the upper is pretty thick, but I enjoyed my evening run in them. Nice and spongy. Only other shoe I have like this is Superblast 2 (which I still prefer as they are lighter and more breathable + can run a bit quicker with them) but don't want to ruin them so these will be a good alternative.

    • Mine also arrived this evening, fair bit different to the 1080 v11 I had previously!

      Enjoying it so far though.

      • A massive difference between 11 > 14 !

  • +1

mine got pulled from a processing facility and redirected back to the warehouse. Crazy stuff.
