The $2.95 delivery fee is for the physical gift cards. There is no extra charge for eGift card sent to your email which most people would choose.

      • Yeah if you think about it. That’s really cheap for delivery. Then again it is almost paper based

  • -4

What a crap deal. I am sure for most of us the 15% off at Coles is much better, unless you really have to spend somewhere online that no split gift card payment is allowed.
And you can use other discounted gift cards (such as the vanilla mastercard at Woolies) to buy the Coles ones.

    • +3

If you don't have a Coles near you, that extra 5% may not be worth the time and money spent to get to one. Plus there's a chance the cards may not be in stock there.

You should also be able to use those discounted gift cards here, but can't confirm if all types work.

    • What coles deal?

  • Looks like JB Hifi is excluded

  • Is Ebay dying? its not fearured on these giftcards anymore.

  • Looks like 9% not 10% at checkout

Due to 1% credit card surcharge on Digital cards

    • @JeremyDealFiend I've bought from this website recently and wasn't charged the credit card surcharge. I haven't bought today so can't check. I've added to cart with the code and 10% discount is applied. I can't find the 1% surcharge mentioned in their terms.

Will check with @hamza23 who has bought from this website. Is there 1% surcharge now? Thanks.

      • Not when I purchased 6 days ago, but it could have changed since.

    • Paypal has no surcharge if that helps. I didn't try it using just a credit card though.

    • Were you trying to purchase from https://card.gift/ or https://thecardnetwork.com.au/?

      • This deal is for https://card.gift/, which does not surcharge card payments.

      • The table of participating retailers links to https://thecardnetwork.com.au/, because that is the source of truth for participating retailers (and also tells you whether a participating retailer accepts the gift card in-store or online). You can also purchase the gift cards in this deal from that website, but that website charges a 1% payment fee and the coupon code does not work there.

      • Thanks @WookieMonster I read the card.gift terms again but couldn't find the 1% surcharge.

I had originally linked to the card.gift website in the table of participating retailers to avoid confusion with buying from TCN website. When I looked at previous TCN gift card deals, they were linked to TCN website in the table. Hence I changed from card.gift to the TCN website. It makes sense to link to the original source, TCN website in the table but this may cause confusion.

        • For online-only gift card deals, I would:

          • Change the links in the table of participating retailers to instead link to the webpage where you purchase gift cards.

          • Add a sentence above the table to tell people to go to the TCN website to see how each participating retailer accepts the TCN gift cards in this deal.

An example of this is how I edited the recent Ultimate gift card deal on Amazon.

  • I spoken with a support person on the phone, and she said that you can add the digital gift card to your phone wallet, then pay with it at multiple supported physical stores or online stores.

E.g. if you buy the "Shop" gift card & put it in your phone wallet, you can pay at a physical store like Rebel, then use some of the remainder at BCF, then again at an online store, etc. until the balance is used up.

So, you DON'T have to swap this digital "Shop" gift card to a particular retailer-branded card FIRST in order to use it, but can directly use the "Shop" gift card to pay at any supported merchant.

Can anyone confirm that this is true?

    • +1

Yes, the digital card added to mobile wallet can be used at some supported retailers without swapping. Some retailers need swapping e.g. Uber/Uber Eats. More info here

      • Thanks. It's irritating, though, that the information provided is almost all for PHYSICAL gift cards. E.g. if you click on "Rebel", the information is "Swipe at the eftpos terminal and select ‘SAVINGS’"…

?? That's only relevant for the physical card, not the digital card! They seem to have written their help notes only for the physical card…

      • Is there a specific link/guide on how to add digital card to mobile wallet?
All I have is an emailed link, which redirects to a TCN page asking which retailer I want to use the card with and how much.
No card number, no PIN, no nothing; so not sure how to add to mobile wallet.

        • This message was in my previous email. Not sure if it's the same today:

We’ve sent you an SMS with a link to your digital gift card. Just follow the prompts to add your card to your mobile wallet to tap & pay in-store with Apple & Android Pay.

          • @trixieb: Thanks! Maybe you've set up an account with TCN? I checked out as guest. :-(

          • @trixieb: I dont think this applies to any one of the 3 cards in this deal. You can give it a try but I feel it is classic support person talking craps :) Most likely you can only swap the digital cards for merchant vouchers.

        • @cheapoguy Did you download the TCN app? The email link would require you to download the TCN app and add your details.

          • @trixieb: Maybe things have changed. The email link I received goes straight to the TCN website. No mention of the TCN app as a requirement.
I did try downloading the app. It asks for the mobile number, but not able to load/present any of my digital cards, as it never asked for my number at the time of purchase.

            • @cheapoguy: With the link from your order, you register your details with TCN. Once TCN has your mobile number, the card will be sent there via SMS. Opens up the app and the card details are visible on the app with the balance. Then add to your mobile wallet.

              • -1

@trixieb: You clearly have not purchased any of these cards in the deal, at least not recently. Try it before giving advises.

                • @truetypezk: I had suggested earlier to contact support which you dismissed. I was only trying to help based on my other TCN gift cards purchased from the same website. Had mentioned I didn't buy these cards today.

                  • @trixieb: These 3 card types are simply not swappable for digital ones, regardless of what a random support personnel may tell you.

Some TCN cards work that way but not these ones.

              • @trixieb: Found the video on how to add digital card to mobile wallet.
However, with my specific Shop card, clicking on the email just brings me straight to the retailers page.
Didn't ask me for my details, no activation, no SMS, no TCN app. Most likely @truetypezk is correct here.
I did sent a query to support. Let's see what they say. On hindsight, maybe I should have just ponied up the $2.95 for a physical card. :-)

                • @cheapoguy: I am also having the same issue. No CRN and the app doesn’t work for me. Would like to be able to add to my Apple Wallet than having to convert to a different retailer each time I want to use the card. I have also contacted support, will keep you updated.

                  • +1

@SleepyKoala88: It is not an "issue", it is the intended way for these cards to work. These cards cannot be swapped to digital cards, only retailer specific vouchers/gift cards. Dont waste your time as their support team probably know less than you do about their products.

If you want to use the card directly in store, you would need to get the physical version. That's also why I said the one at Coles was a much better deal. Physical cards can be used directly or swapped for merchant vouchers.

                    • @truetypezk: I did visit two Coles stores earlier in the week. Broden got there before me and cleaned out the card rack.

                      • @cheapoguy: Yes I noticed that too, they were surprisingly popular! Well or maybe just not well stocked.

                    • @truetypezk: @cheapoguy @SleepyKoala88 I spoke to TCN gift cards and was told that all their digital cards including Shop can be added to mobile wallet. The email would have the link. Don't know why your email doesn't appear to include the link. Did you hear back from your enquiry?

                      • @trixieb: The email I received does have a link. Based on the tutorial video, that link is supposed to walk you through registration, app download, activation, etc. etc.
However, the link I received doesn't do any of that. Instead, it simply redirects to a TCN page asking me to choose a retailer and for what value, and it simply generates a voucher for that retailer.

                      • @trixieb: So, were you able to add the digital card to your mobile wallet from the link provided to you in the email?

                        • @cheapoguy: Yes but I didn't buy the Shop gift card. Maybe it can't be added to mobile wallet although customer support says all their digital cards can be.

Edit: I mentioned to customer support that your email for the Shop card doesn't have the link to activate or add to wallet but they said should be there. I asked if the Shop card was different to the other cards and can't be added to wallet but support said same as the other digital cards.

I was wondering if you heard back from your enquiry via email.

                          • @trixieb: Thanks for asking! I did get a response. They merely resent the links, which does the same thing as the original links. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

                            • @cheapoguy: I think you should stop wasting your time with the support, and if this is an important feature to you just grab the physical cards:)

                      • -1

@trixieb: You still don't want to believe what I have said so many times. Why don't you just give it a try and buy a card? These cards simply CANNOT do that. And yes I know some of their cards can do that but definitely not these ones in the deal.

                        • @truetypezk: Please don't take it personally. I had to contact TCN who issued the cards and reported what they said. You would think TCN would be aware of their own cards.

                          • @trixieb: It's all good, guys! I've replied to TCN support, but I'm not holding my breath on this one. If I manage to get the activation link, I'll let you guys know.
Thanks for the advice, @trixieb and @truetypezk!

                            • @cheapoguy: Same here just go a link to change to one of the shops Gift Card. Not happy that the shop I changed the GC decided to cancel my order so now I am left with that shop GC as they refunded me with their GC. Should have just bought the physical cards from coles the other day instead.

                              • +1

@j1568: In case anyone is still following this thread, TCN support did eventually send me the card number and PIN, which when entered in the redemption page:
                                * prompted me to enter my details (mobile number and email)
                                * asked me to download the TCN app
                                * sent me an SMS link, which add the card to the app
                                * and allowed me to add the card to Google (or Apple) wallet
Without the card number and PIN, you can only choose a retailer and get a voucher for the nominated amount.

                                • @cheapoguy: @truetypezk Thanks for the update and confirming that they can be added to mobile wallet. I wonder why the card number and PIN were not automatically sent in the original email as per other TCN cards.
