Collecting 18v kits is like the grown up version of pokemon cards.

    :( so many

    • +2

I share your pain. Now I'm replacing what I already have with the better quality brushless Ozitos.

      • I still don't own anything what are the better ones?
I'm just looking to replace my old breaking cordless screwdriver

        • +1

I have a few Ozito brushless - grinder, drills, blower, multitool, impact driver etc. Dunno about cordless screwdriver. I use one of the drills. All bought on Bunnings deals. And they are really solid for home use. Just feel and "sound" better. Batteries last longer.
Professional or trades - use a flash brand for bragging rights, like Milwaukee etc.

          • +1

@Weshouldgetsushi: I thought this might be a good opportunity to get into the ecosystem since IKEA replacement cordless screwdriver would cost about 50 anyway if they have variable speed and torque control.
I do have a corded drill if I really need something serious which is unlikely anyway

          • +3

            @Weshouldgetsushi:

Professional or trades - use a flash brand for bragging rights, like Milwaukee etc.

This is completely untrue. Having used the gamut of tool brands for home and semi-professional use, there's a clear difference in quality between the trade brands and Ozito / Ryobi.

I own Makita tools that have lasted over 10 years, been (accidentally) dropped from a roof, left outside in the rain, and other day-to-day heavy use.

Obviously it's not worth it to get Makita / Milwaukee/ DeWalt for something you use a few times a year, but if you're using it daily, they are definitely better.

            • @p1 ama: Yeah exactly.
Pay a lot more for better quality, in a number of aspects, including repairability, ability to be used for extended periods and water resistance. If I was making a living from my tools, I would not be using Ozito or actually quite a lot of other brands.

    • Try concurrently enjoying the heck out of both! Not quite Pokemon buy Yoda does have his own room in my house :D

  • +7

Some people would say this is all the average household needs, those people are wrong.
    Got to collect them all…

  • +4

Fingers cross hoping for any lawnmower set

    • +1

You'll need to wait for the next time Aldi sells them

      • Ryobi won’t have one coming?

        • +1

For Ryobi you can get the Black Friday deal that's posted but usually Bunnings only drop the price of an Ozito mower temporarily when Aldi are selling an equivalent one.

    • Aldi Steel Deck are the ones you want if decent sized lawn. They rarely go on sale. I was in big bunnings the other day and they had both the push and self-propelled. If you need, buy. They arent always stocked.

      • What about the Ozito 36v brushless steel deck? Is the aldi mower better than that?

        • Any Ozito steel deck is good. Just depends how low you want to mow and whether you want self-propelled. I personally would never buy an Aldi one (was gifted a petrol one, never ending hassles and impossible to swap it).

          • @Xizor: Out of the steel deck ozito and aldi, which one mows lower?

  • +2

Note that this drill has a 10mm chuck

  • +1

Is it worth it getting the set for $99? Or is there not much use for the impact driver? I do need to drill through some brick walls, hoping I don't actually need a hammer drill? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-compact-d…

    • +1

I don't believe that combo is Brushless.

If you want to do Brick Walls, get the Hammer Drill. I uses a normal drill and it took ages, plus was very hard. Hammer Drill was a lot easier.

    • +1

      Def need hammer drill

    • Drill in that kit is rubbish

      Impact driver is great though.

      • Cheers, for assembling and dissembling home gym (size 17 socket bolts)

Do you recommend the $50 impact driver from the kit? Or spend the $95 on the brushless version? The torque is 150nm / 180nm between the two.

        Cheers

    • +2

thanks all, I'll wait for a sale!

this skin only is $60 and it should do the job? Just doing a few screws into the wall inside the home. Was $38 on sale last year according to ozb posts - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-hammer-drill-skin-…

      • +1

I dont mean any offence (i'm just going by you not having a drill so you may not have tried): Are you sure your internal walls are brick?

It wouldn't be the first time someone saw brick external walls and thought they needed to drill into brick for the internal walls as well.

You could get a cheap corded hammer drill for about $50. Will be better at brick than a cheap cordless. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-710w-hammer-drill_p0299328

If you are going to be doing a bunch of holes though in brick it might be worth getting an SDS drill. Our place has old bricks that take ages to drill though with a regular hammer drill. Bought an SDS drill and its literally a few seconds.

        • +2

you are totally correct now that I think about it, I haven't checked properly (just moved in - it's one of those old unit buildings, brick outer), I will take a better look tonight and I did just assume it was brick as it was really hard and solid, just thought I needed something stronger than a regular drill to get through into it!

Thanks, good links and those prices are perfectly fine too, appreciate your help and advice!

    • +2

If you can wait it out Aldi usually bring out a hammer drill special buy which Bunnings will inevitably match in some way.

All those people asking about just having one drill for the house dunno why people recommend these non-hammer drills (I know you mentioned the kit anyway, just an associated mini-rant lol). If only getting one, hammer function > brushless … or get one with both of course.

      • Can the hammer drill be used as a normal drill as well?

        • +2

          Yes.

    • +1

Need a hammer drill and masonry bits for drilling through brick.

Impact driver is useful if you're putting in a lot of screws (particularly into hardwood, concrete or bricks). They give you much better control and consistency, and won't break your wrists (compared to using a drill driver).

  • Whats onepass with $80+ order?
    Isnt onepass free delivery?

    • +1

No, there are T&Cs and exclusions. Mostly with Bunnings.

      • +1

Ohh i didnt know that. I bought items that are like $5 and got free delivery. Wonder if they've changed it recently. So misleading. $80+ is quite a fair bit to spend for free delicery considering you've got a subscription.

        • +2

T&Cs and Exclusions often relate to the heavier/bulkier items.

    • +4

I just purchased with OnePass and delivery was free.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. Title fixed.

    • +1

I tried delivery with OnePass for this product and it was showing free. May be you haven't applied OnePass yet.

  • Any hammer drill deals?

  • What’s a good drill kit to use with these?

    • +2

It is a drill kit. What do you mean?

      • +3

Early morning blues. I meant a drill bit to use with the kit.

        • What's your budget ? Bosch A review here if you can put up with the guys voice.

        • Agree with Duff5000's comment about buying heaps and can confirm that kit is great. It has lots of the little ones that have a tendency to break and not so many of the larger stuff. Obviously it depends on your use but that kit has been with me for years now and I'm happy with it so far

        • What are you drilling into?

    • +4

Personally i'd just grab a cheap set of heaps. https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-99-piece-titanium-coa…

Then just get a few better ones if/when you need them.

I find i tend to break smaller ones well before wearing them no matter the quality.

I bought a smaller version of that with about 20 of each small size and they have lasted me probably 5 years so far and i have been doing plenty of reno work.

      • Any recommendation for driver bits?

        • +1

I almost always use an impact driver, not a standard drill.

I normally just keep an eye out for ones on clearance at bunnings. Picked up some 5 packs of Kango Phillips impact and hex bits for $2 and they have lasted ages. Got some dewalt ones cheap and they have been fine also.

Cheap no name brand ones in an impact driver will probably break/bend pretty quick.

  • Dang, I thought it was a driver only.

  • Any other ozito pxc deals for this bf?

  • Is it only for onepass members? Can I start another trail?

  • +2

If you're in the PXC ecosystem and are after a high quality drill, this one is great https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-120nm-drill-hammer… I moved from dewalt and this is better. 120NM at a fraction of the cost. The reviews are pretty accurate (except for the girlyman that complained about the noise). Not exactly a bargain but at RRP, its better than bigger brands.

    • +3

I would just make the leap to a cordless SDS more power and more versatility.

      • +1

Cordless SDS is a bit of a PITA when wanting to use it just as a drill though. So much physically larger, heavier and you cant easily stick regular bits in it.

Personally i went with the brushless hammer drill (i just dont use the hammer function) and a much larger corded SDS.

Obviously depends on the user. I need a regular drill far more than i need an SDS. Pulling out the extension cord on the odd occasion i need the SDS isnt a big deal.

  • This is so damn cheap! I was going to buy an AEG 18V impact driver but that's like $249? How does this compare to the AEG? I have an AEG 18V hammer drill which has been going strong for a few years now but need something a bit lighter for non-hammer drill duties (which is basically everything I do these days).

    • I have the brushless impact wrench and it works great. All their brushless gear seems to be decent. The brushed ones i have used seem a bit weak though.

Edit: that said the brushed ones i got for next to nothing so for the money have been great. (circular saw and grinder)

  • Is this the same drill in the 5 piece kit?

  • +1

This Bunnings early access Black Friday thing is honestly terrible. What a joke. I want my OnePass money back

  • This drill is only for light work. I have to buy another set of drill+driver from Makita to do some work on car and backyard. But I still keep ozito, because it's lighter than Makita, not make my wrist tired

  • Sorry for my ignorance but this same drill can be used to loosen/fasten screws and drill as well? We have recently bought the house and looking for something that’s handy with furniture assembly, making holes in multiple surfaces like walls, plastic etc

    • Yep would be fine for drilling and driving.

Not really for drilling into brick or concrete though.

  • Signed up for the $20 Black Friday one pass and now this link to the drill is doesn't work, any one experiencing the same issue?

    • Link is still ok for me. Maybe try incognito mode in your browser ?

      • Thanks, I worked it out, while I went to bunnings site from one pass, I also had to link my bunnings account to my one pass. Then the link became available for me to add to cart, ordered 1, thanks OP

  • What's a good ozito hammer drill? I've got hammerin' to do.

      • Thank you sweet cheeks. Do you reckon I should get the small one or the big baws one?

        • The $129 one should be okay, otherwise go $149 one.

          • @geekcohen: Gonna get the 1500w big boss one to make up for my small Weiner.

  • Is this good enough for a couple of drill jobs for brick and concrete mail box?

  • This is my dedicated "inside drill" for putting things together or pulling things apart when I don't want to trudge to the shed in the dark for the real drill. It's so light and compact, as a small electric screwdriver it's great

  • This Bosch seems like a good deal for a hammer drill with plenty of torque

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0CZXLVNKS?smid=ANEGB3W…

    • Without battery

  • Hello, I would like to put furniture together - is this suitable? And what recommendations for screw driver head set to purchase with this please and thank you

    • +2

I would like to put furniture together - is this suitable?

      Yes, it is suitable.

  • Drill novice here and a first time power tool buyer. Can I team it up with https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-16-piece-drill-brush-set_p… to scrub and clean bathrooms?

    • +4

Did you look at the link you provided?
The exact same drill is used in the pictures…

      • Facepalm! I didn't scroll across the pictures. Thanks, Jessie, well played :)

      • +3

The exact same drill is used in the pictures…

I love that its not just used in the pics but used specifically to clean a shower

        :)

  • Comes with battery? Then it's a deal

    • +1

      Yes, charger too.

  • Does the impact wrench ever go on sale?

    • Not that I have ever seen.

    • I got one for $50 but that was ex display.

  • Team - Does this works for steel frame please? Thanks in advance?

  • If anyone is looking for a Hammer Drill, there is this for $99. Just need a battery for it (if you don't already have one). There is this for $20 which is Battery + Charger. So comes to $129 for the lot.

  • +1

Ordered this the other day and finally picked it up. Didn't realise Ozito mad this compact size! I have a Toolpro 12V (brushed) that I prefer to use for small / quick jobs, but this ozito's going to take that spot now.

  • -1

Thanks ordered to be delivered under onepass for 0.01 less than last year

At least no inflation on this unlike Helgas bread $5 now WTF!?
