Weird, has been $99 for me for ~2 months so had assume $99 was standard price. Have been waiting for a special…

Not according to PriceHipster…….. its recent.

      • +1

That's the PXBHS-600, deal here lists the PXBHS-180

        • +1

Yeah, sorry about that. Missed that minor detail.

Cannot find it on Price Hipster for tracking.

  • Would this be powerful enough to drill multiple holes through brick?

    • +1

With a little bit of elbow grease, yes.

      • 6mm width and 5cm depth ok?

        • +1

yes it will be fine. Assuming your not doing that 20 or 30 times in one go.

          • @heavyoctopus: Yes, that’s why you buy a hammer drill. I’ve used my Ozito to drill 300+ 6.5mm wide, 50mm deep holes into brick with no issue

            • @SirFrankGrimes: I'm sure a mate bought the same drill. It needs ear protection and man does it have some power. It will go through concrete with some pushing or new drill bits. Very easy to use too.

If you’re doing a small job, yeh sure. If you’re doing this more than a few times, go an SDS rotary hammer drill. They chew through brick/concrete like a hot knife through butter.

SDS Rotary are bit more expensive (not that much), but will take 10 seconds & no effort for the same hole where this will take much longer & lots of effort.

I got this and it is fine. What matters more is the quality of the drill bit. Get a good brand one rather than the cheapest set you can find at Bunnnings. Ask the staff to recommend for your project requirement.

fully agree. I had some 'masonry' bits from some random aldi drill bit set, and a half decent DIY corded hammer drill. the little wedges painted red on the end of the bits went away pretty quickly (the wedges, not just the paint) drilling into brickwork. and by 'drilling into' I mean 'making a small semi circular dent'. Dad gave me some of his Irwin ones and it was like drilling into soft pine. straight in, no fuss.

With a masonry bit it will be no problem. These can even drill into concrete but are rather slow and you'd be better off getting a SDS hammer drill if you have a lot of holes to drill.

A Standard Drill. This has the hammer functionality.

      • Ohh i see thanks

This model is a gutless 50Nm. I would pay $50 more for the 120Nm linked in description. You may need the torque in future. No brainer actually.

    • Btw I hv the 50Nm model which was alot cheaper when they price matched Aldi abt a year ago.

    • my old Makita btd140 impact driver makes 140nm and that was plenty for a lot of jobs. 120nm in a drill is plenty

I have really thrashed mine and it still works a charm I complemented it with a drill driver which I thrashed as a mechanic cannot be happier.
