I have a pair and rate these! They won't be for everyone but for me it was money well spent.

Im interested to know how you use them

      • +5

Simple. just need to put in on your face

These sunglasses can take pictures, record videos, play music, answer calls, and let you interact with Meta AI to ask questions. For example, you can look at a sign in another language and say, "Hey Meta, what does this sign say in English?" The device will translate and read it aloud for you.

It works similarly to the Rabbit R1 AI device and can be incredibly useful if used effectively. However, if you don't take advantage of its features, it may just feel like an overpriced pair of sunglasses with unnecessary tech.

Can they be used without a FB or Meta account? In other words, do they need "activating" before they work?
I want to use only for recording video to the SD card, completely offline.
Edit: apparently it's not possible, and further more: "you need the Meta app to install, activate, and re-authorize the glasses every 28 days"… LOL that's so lame. Needing to "check in" every month, like reporting to the divine leader.

Is this a new version that just been released?

    • +2

      Correct

Perfect! These will be great for filming all my kindness content this holiday season. So excited to exploit help vulnerable people.

I have the transition pair so i use them alot for work so i can still write emails, do teams meetings etc. without holding the phone or using buds. It's way comfier as you have nothing in your ears and the sound is very clear. The mic is also really clear for the person on the other end of the calls/meeting. I also use them for happy snaps and videos while on holidays in the situations where you don't have time or can't get to your phone to record. The AI in the glasses work like an assistant as well which is incredibly handy at times when you need to know an answer on something, weather etc. on the fly.

    • I suppose you can't use it in a dark environment?

      • Lowlight video recording work relatively well but pitch black i'm unsure sorry.

    • How's the battery life on them?

      • +1

Depends on how much you use the functions. But on/off phone calls and the odd video recording i'll get about 5 hours. They charge straight away when you put them back in the case, and relatively quickly. You get i think 7 charges from the case before you have to charge the case again, the case takes USB-C.

    • I'm sure that you are referring to multifocal or progressive lenses instead of "transition".

Now I’m waiting for amazon to give me a sale on the quest 3. :)

can you claim private insurance with this?

    • +1

Yes you can get a prescription pair from certain optometrists that sell Ray-Ban. You should be able to claim part of the price on your private insurance if your health fund has that option.

      • $450 just the for the prescription lenses apparently :(

  • Wondering if I should wait for the next model 🤔

    • is there a new model coming soon?

      • Looks like they are only a year old and they are releasing new features (including an update in Sept), so I guess not yet

        • +2

I've noticed they have updates about every two months with new features being added most of the time.

  • The other style G15 green is cheaper, but can't find out if they're polarized as well or not.

Imagine paying for the privilege of gathering data for the Zuck so he can train his Ai … Zuck thanks you for your service!

I’ve been using this as my main glasses and have been loving it. I mostly use it to listen to music or podcasts while working.

Camera wise only use it to record moments with my daughter; like when you pick them up at childcare and they run towards you, or recording them while on the swings. Really good quality as well.

I reckon for retail workers that are not allowed to work with airpods should buy these to listen to music while working

For those who do make a lot of calls, this is the one. Better than any AirPods or even the very capable Shokz OpenComm and its boom mic.

Incredible microphone pickup and background noise cancelling on these so your voice comes across clear to the other person.

Can get same 20% discount on the Ray-Ban website, plus an additional 12% cashback through ShopBack! Ends in 6days

  • I wish Amazon had all the options. No options for the Headliner low bridge fit transition glass model.

  • these does not comes with polarized lens right?

  • +2

Get a size larger than your usual. The legs are thick, so they press against the sides of your face. If you normally wear an M in Ray-Ban, go for a Large. Alternatively, Ray-Ban offers a 15-day money-back guarantee, so you can try them out and return them for a larger size if needed.

These sunglasses don’t just take pictures, record videos, and play music—they also function like the Rabbit R1 AI device. You can ask questions about what you’re seeing or about anything else. The device continues to improve, and I hope it will soon include real-time navigation with voice guidance.

  • I see a different colour at a cheaper price (but lower RRP). https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CGXX2HG5?th=1

Is this different one in terms of its functionality or just different in terms of colour/finish?

    • yeah different colour/finish. I tried them yesterday at sunglasses hut store and didn't like this version.

  • Wanted the low bridge version but only left Green glass :/
