I’m quite happy with my Eero 5, however, when I used it as a router, I’d have frequent issues with the units freezing. But using it for wifi only paired with an Edgerouter X has been rock solid

    • I just ordered this one, so hoping it'll get me good coverage across the home (recently connected to FTTP from FTTC so the connection is on the other side of the house now). At least returns are easy with Amazon, but I've seen good reviews for this so 🤞

    • When my thrashed falcon sits in the driveway it works too.

    Pricematch at Bunning for $350.99

    • That's even better. How do you do a price match in Bunning? I check their website and it says I have to email them.

      • Price match with Bunnings in store. Or you can also do with 5% at OW in store or calling customer support too.
Oh wait OW has already made it cheaper $387

    • Prospect SA refused as it’s a Black Friday special…

      • It shouldn’t matter as this isn’t any exclusion to their Price Policy

        • Yeah, just did it via online chat with no issues. Was tempted to go back to Prospect and make sure the same grumpy old bitch served me but it’s not a convenient store today.

          • @KablammoNick: Some think it’s coming from their pay 😂
While many are not made aware from their management.
Always speak with someone higher than front desk clerk.

            • @Smokey010: Yeah I figured she was just having a bad day, it happens.

The girls at Mile End were much nicer, despite being ran off their feet!

  • Can you set these so they have separate SSID for each band?

    • No.

      • How about if you set the guest network as 2.4ghz?

cashrewards has 20% cashback for amazon devices - do you guys think that eero is an amazon device - seems the comapny is owned by amazon so i would assume yes?
    thanks

    • it appears under the Amazon Devices category so I'd think it would be.

    where's the deal for 6 Pro Mr.Bezos

  • I've got a 3 pack of 6's, have for a couple of years, can I just buy one of the 6+'s to add to the 6 and it'll let me introduce a second LAN connection to the mesh?

    • I believe you can. eero's are backwards compatible. make the 6+ your main.

      • Will the the one that's the main 6 now but relegated to a slave still be able provide lan to the mesh though? was hoping to have multiple cat connections at either end of the house.

  • FYI: I made the purchase using Cashrewards and, somehow, I'm getting a cashback of $88.63. Based on my calculations, that’s about a 25% cashback on $354.54 (excluding GST and taxes).

So, in total, I paid $389, and with the cashback of $88.63, the final amount comes down to $300.37. I tried researching how I managed to get such a high cashback, but I couldn’t figure it out. I used the Cashrewards Chrome extension to activate the cashback on the site.

  • Update got em and tested the speed, got 4 all over the house yet max speed on wifi im getting is 300 on 1000 plan, im only getting close to 800 if im close to main one thats connected to nbn box. Any solutions? thinking maybe if I get TP-Link Deco XE75 instead would fix the issue.

    • I'm the same mate. My wifi 6 compatible devices push 800 but not anything else. Thinking of just calling "the guy" and extending a cat 6 cable to my study for consistent 1000 speeds but leaving the eeros in blackspots around the house for coverage.

    • How many Wifi networks can your phone see ? Count the number of entries on your Wifi "available networks".
