  • Do I have to shampoo my fuel first before using this?

    Anyone actually tried this?
I'm not convinced any of these fuel conditioners/ injector cleaners are good unless they have a decent amount of PEA.

    https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/the-best-fuel-injector…

    From fuel doctor sds
    2-(2-butoxyethoxy) ethanol 112-34-5 >30%<60%
    Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), alpha-tridecyl-omega-hydroxy-, branched 69011-36-5 >10%<30%
    Alcohols, C12-14, ethoxylated 68439-50-9 >10%<30%

    • I've tried most even a couple of the USA ones and i think this one does nothing. Best ones i found are like you said have PEA.

Cataclean- cleared my catalytic converter code.
Interject- fixed a faulty fuel level sensor in a jeep but there is nothing special in it not even PEA.
Red Line Complete Fuel System Cleaner- better fuel economy and acceleration.
Pro-Strength Petrol Fuel System Extreme Clean- cleaned a rough idle

Wish i could find something to work with diesels. I got a bottle of the red line version for diesel but not used it yet. Tried diesel power and the extra one but nothing.
Also got a bottle of f-10 but i think that is more of a Surfactant but will try it anyway.

The only one that I’ve found had any effect on a diesel was the Liqui Moly Diesel Purge Plus. I’ve experienced amazing things with it but only when the vehicle had issues. Had an old 40 series Land Cruiser that was super lethargic. Ran a can (or two?) directly into the engine and it made is start better, quadrupled the power to about 10hp and made it responsive. Also ran it through a Prado with 500,000kms on it for the sake of it and it didn’t seem to make much difference (it was already running fine).

Revived a number of old lawn mowers that had gummed up with fuel doctor. Add it to all my Jerry cans now. Also been using in a diesel Navara that was having fuel related starting issues. Seems to have helped.

  • I was planning on getting "Nulon Pro-Strength Petrol Fuel System Extreme Clean (PEC)". Anyone have a comparison between that and the Fuel Doctor?|

[edit] I thought that ^ contained PEA, but I'm not seeing it on the SDS. Can anyone confirm?

    • This makes me really confused the description says it contains polyetheramine but the sds does not unless its called something else.

      Google says
      Alcohols, C12-15, propoxylated
A fatty alcohol with a variety of industrial uses, including detergents, fuel additives, lubricants, and functional liquids. It can be converted to a polyetheramine through a reductive amination.

  • I've been using Fuel Doctor for about 7 years. Does it work? I don't know. My car still runs. I use it in my car, buggy, mower, whipper snipper, in 2 stroke, Petrol and Diesel. I use it mostly to make the fuel last a year or 2 without spoiling. Again, I've never studied, researched, analysed, compared, prototyped, pulled my engine apart nor looked inside my fuel tank. I pay the money, I use it, and I forget about it. My fuel economy never changed so I cant vouch it will save you money at the bowser. PS i got 5L for about $100 so I got a bargain and that's why I'm really here :)

"specifically formulated for Diesel, Petrol and Two-stroke fuel systems" … how specific

Been using this stuff for my Pajero diesel for 5 years. Not 100% sure if it does what it is supposed to do but my Pajero runs well.

Has anyone tried this Rislone High Performance Injector Cleaner? I've never used any of these but have a Sportage with just under 300,000km which is idling a bit roughly. Saw this on special at supercheap and wondered if it was worth a try?

    • Should work as the bottle says it has PEA

  • *disperse

  • I'm using it on Diesel Mazda CX-5 2017/18. It seams that for me it decreases the fuel consumption by about a litre. After I started using it the consumption never goes above 10L/100km, prior to that it was a normal occurrence to see it go over on a regular basis, unless I drove on a motorway that week.
