Does anyone know if there are any disadvantages to purchasing via amazon with Reolink products?
Some companies seem to offer less support and warranty when buying via Amazon.
The review on Amazon seems not impressed. Any OZBargain real review here?
Using it for more then a month now, no issues.
The best thing is ColorX technology, giving the full color night vision even in the darkest areas.
Hi, can I ask:
Do you have any other security cameras?
Do you generally use it in continuous recording mode?
Yes I have 5 Reolink cameras in total, 4 x POE and one Altas PT Solar.
No I'm not using it in continuous recording mode
@hasjv: I am considering Reolink but I haven't heard good things about their app. People have been claiming that the app is not the smoothest and the feed doesn't load quickly enough leading to missing important events. Does that hold true in your experience?
@ninohax: I've been using the app for about 3 years now. It's one of the better camera apps out there, in terms of features and ease of use. I've never had an issue with smoothness in either navigation or playback.
the feed doesn't load quickly
I just tested - loading the app from the home screen, it took just under 5 seconds to be showing a live camera stream. That's using a 4G connection, accessing a PoE camera (Duo 2) connected to my home network's internet.
Even if you miss the exact time that something happens, you should be able to use motion or AI detection events and watch the recording of anything important.
I dont have this new one,
But i have the previous model, which doesnt have colour X or 24hr recording. But as for camera quality they are great including zoom in function,
The app is also easy to use.Disadvantages to solar/battery powered cameras are that they have a delay when detecting something.
If you get this model or POE, then you wont have that issue and i cant fault them,
How is this different as this is also a solar/battery powered camera? Is it the Pre-record feature that this camera has that negates the delay with detecting events?
Up to 96hrs of Continious recording on a single charge.
So i took that as it can be set to constantly record for 96hrs or can be set to PIR motion, which will record in intervals like 7sec/15sec/30secs upon detection.
Also has 10seconds of PRE Recording before detection which is also useful.

I have an existing RLK8-800D4. Will the recording from the Altas PT Ultra save to the NVR?
same price on the actual Reolink website too…
been looking to get a few more cameras on Black Friday sales to add to my home hub and been considering this new model cos of the auto tracking.
