  • Thanks!
I am wondering if I buy two of this for a double garage door. Is their multiple-door alternative any good?

    • Depends on how they are controlled. Do you have seperate garage remote buttons for each door?

      • Thank you for letting me know they could be different! To be honest, I’m moving into the new house which will settle after the Black Friday season. So… I don’t know yet. May I ask what’s the differences?
(Edit: maybe I misunderstood you. Were you asking if each door can be open/closed individually? If that’s the case, my answer is yes!)

  • Thanks got one

  • I am in a mixed home of android phones and iPhones with no other hubs or speakers (only a few Chromecasts). Will either version allow an icon on both android auto and apple CarPlay? If so will I need two seperate ‘hub’ devices?

    • Nope you can use them with both. The main thing is that for Apple Homekit, you do need a hub. The cheapest is a HomePod mini.

    • Apparently you can't just press a button in Android Auto to open the door immediately. If you setup via SmartThings you have to press for that then navigate to the garage door button and press. If you setup via Google Assistant routine you press the routine button but then have to wait for PIN to be asked. The response times for both options is not ideal. Really the quickest way is the old fashion remote control buttons.

  • If you want to save more you can buy one on Aliexpress for $21.

    Works great with my garage

    • The main issue is HomeKit compatibility. Also I've found reception can be spotty on Aliexpress openers as they use an ESP32 internally, not great for reception.

  • Does this unit work for two single garages or do I need to buy two of them so that each door can open?

    • +1

Are they independent motors? If so you need 2 of them. Or you can purchase this unit which does up to 3 independent doors.

      • Yes, I have two independent motors that operate each door. Thank you so much! Will purchase that unit you link!

  • +2

Cheers installed it in about an hour, just use the app everyone it tells you exactly what to do (I was searching Google on my exact model before…)

My question is since I only had a single power point for my garage motor, is it safe to leave a double power adaptor plugged in permanently to power the Meross and my garage motor?

    • For mine it hardly uses any power. My 420 ups can power it easily

    • +1

For sure. The Meross unit used next to no power.

      • Thanks legends! Just in case I ended up getting a surge protected double adapter

  • Thanks to OP for this deal - I got one and the install was easy on a B&D garage door. For those of you with Unifi networks, you may have seen quite a few posts online regarding issues incorporating one of these into your network. Well, I have a Unifi network with NanoHD APs running both 5GHz and 2.4GHz wifi networks and this just worked - no issues at all and I didn't have to do anything special (like setting a wifi AP exclusively to 2.4 GHz and selecting Channel 2, etc - you'll read online that some people have had to do that sort of stuff…) Not sure why it now all works fine, perhaps they updated the firmware??? Anyway, this is a great bit of kit.

  • Anyone with Merlin garage door ? Im trying to install it but the plugs that the app says connect the wire to are already taken by the garage door button , should I take the manual button out ?

    • Yes, I have the Chamberlain Merlin MR60 but nothing was in the two pins I needed. If you check the compatibility page, it tells you all .odels work but that some need an optional accessory that you need to request direct from them. My model door was not on the list, I have the purple learn button, but it worked anyway.

I'm also using unifi U6 Pro AP, no issue yet (not been online a while day yet though!)

  • Anyone buy the non homekit version and can't get device to appear on app? I'm pulling my hair out. Was sent MSG100NE-AU v3.0 on barcode of the box. I've already got one of the HK ones and tried 2 diff phones, definitely wifi 2.4ghz, it just won't appear no matter what. I think this version is North America, when I also bought a HK one which is "MSG100HK-AU V4.0" I'm wondering if this MSG100NE-AU does not work with Australian devices/appstore/google play…

    • +1

It should work fine regardless of region, have you checked it’s connected to wifi correctly? And your app has local network permissions?

      • Just managed to get it to work- just left it plugged in for hours and suddenly it came good. Cheers!

        • Glad it’s working! Sounds like it might have been a wifi issue then. Something to keep a watch on if it happens again!

          Enjoy

  • Cheers OP ordered one, been waiting for this since last time it was on sale. non-home kit version is showing 41.97 for me, although i ordered homekit version just in case it comes handy

  • I’ve been using the non-HomeKit version for a while now. After working flawlessly for a couple of years, the device started to develop frustrating connectivity issues. It keeps going offline completely. Error message 'Device is unreachable. Please make sure your phone has an internet connection and your device is plugged in and connects to a functional network.' Rebooting the device seems to bring it back up but only for a short period of time, making it unreliable.

    Model number - msg100
    Firmware version - 3.2.7
    Hardware version - 3.0.0

  • So I got this all setup this evening, it's working great, in the Meross app I can open/close the door and I can see it's current status (open or closed)…

I've also linked it to Alexa and I can ask Alexa to open or close the door, which works well, however if I ask Alexa "is the garage door open?" Or "what's the status of the garage door?", it just says "sorry garage door doesn't support that"

Does anyone know if this is something I can setup? Or do I need to check the Meross app to see its status?

    • I just set mine up a few days ago too. It's working fine with my Alexa, and can tell me the status about whether it's open or closed.

  • Not sure if it's targeted but I just got an email from Amazon which will give you a $10 voucher after purchasing selected home improvement products including this.

  • For what it's worth, I rigged mine up in under an hour this week. Very ordinary DIY'er. The cord for the sensor is super long, so cable-tied up the excess. The set-up is fairly straightforward. The sensors need to be pretty close together to work, so factor that in. My garage is a tilt door, so needed to really fine tune the distance, otherwise the door hit the sensor as it closed.

As for the app and Alexa…. Both worked first go. No issues with setting them up. Having a PIN code with Alexa when asking her to open the door is a good security measure.

Overall - I like it and I think I'll get good use from it.
