You can get a single unit for $114 but I think the 2 is a much better deal, $31.92 less than the last deal. Seems to be a solid router, can run OpenWrt with a little bit of work. (Appears to be V1.2, not officially supported by OpenWrt)
If you receive a v1.2, you will need to follow this guide
Mercusys MR90X AX6000 Wireless Router (Euro Version) 2 for $182.40 Delivered @ Amazon AU

May even be cheaper than your helmet (unit price)?
Going to need pictures.
No no, you wearing the more efective router for magpie protection
You can get this + nano USB adaptor for $100.
I got one with the intention to try openwrt with it however i am now doubting its openwrt compatibility since there seems to be v1.2 revision of this model that seems to be released early 2024.
Anyone here got a v1.2 hardware from the previous sale and managed to put openwrt on it?
Awesome, thanks for the link.
Check your box and sticker on the router, likely says 1.2 while the device reports as 1.0 - I contacted tplink about this and they claim all hardware is the same despite there clearly being differing firmware. Mine came with fw1.0.2 installed which isn't available to download for either 1.0 or 1.2, quite a confusing mess. I tried to clarify and they rather bizarrely ended up telling me to refund it. All I wanted to know was why my box says 1.2 but the hardware reports 1.0 :(
Good router otherwise, bit light on features but no problems with it yet.
Here's one of their replies:
"Mercusys has multiple manufacturing facilities. The manufacturing location can be identified by the product's sub-model number. Products with a model number that ends in a "6" or an “8” for example V2.6/V2.8 or V1.26/V1.28 are manufactured in one location. Products whose model number does not end in a "6" or an "8" are manufactured in the others. This is the only difference between these products, all hardware and Software are the same. For example, a V1.2 is the same product as a V1.26. (And your product V1.2 is the same as V1.0, thus, please be reassured.)"
I then asked if they are the same why is there different firmware, got this:
"Thank you for your reply.
1.Apology for the unpleasant experience that our product has brought to you. Your kind feedback is really appreciated and is a valuable advice for us to improve our service.
2.However, the features of V1.0 and V1.2 are identical.
3.Though we regret, you may return MR90X if it did not live up to your expectations and dissatisfaction."
I gave up after that.
So did you try putting openwrt on it? is openwrt running stable enough on it?
I'm guessing that's the only reason you asked them about the revision since using it stockwise probably doesnt matter which revision it isI had planned to try but haven't as yet due to the confusion over which one I actually have. Box and sticker claim 1.2, hardware reports as 1.0. If the firmware installed was downloadable, depending where it was listed, that would probably confirm but as 1.0.2 isn't available as a separate download, it's still a mystery.
Looks like their Wifi7 BE9300 is at an all time low and also has the same deal, 2 items for 20% off.
What are the main differences?
I believe the main selling point of Wifi7 (or Wifi6E) is for its 6Ghz band for devices that supports it.
This MR90x is only Wifi6 which does not support that frequency.
Shame no mesh
The box states "Easy Mesh Compatible" and the product sticker states "MR90X (EU) version 1.2"
Has anyone found out if these come with an Australian plug, or do they have an EU plug or other?
Just got mine today same "MR90X (EU) version 1.2". it comes with AU plugs power adaptor.
Thanks.
I suspected this is actually an EU model that comes with EU restrictions and lower power :(
im trying to get support to confirm it and if that's the case then i would highly caution in getting Mercusys product.Any existing user with the stock firmware can check whether they can choose 5Ghz channel 149 or above when put limit to 80hz mode?
These upper band 5Ghz channel are not allowed in EU but they are allowed in AUS.Just got the answer from support team and they confirmed the model sold here in Oz is EU version so I would caution getting these because they come with EU restrictions.
It has more spikes than my helmet that I use to scare megpeis
