    • where you seeing s22 for 300?

      • i think they have a 200 Amaysim voucher…

    • I have same question

    • -1

s22 has a better screen and probably longer update support.

If you can grab it at 300 bucks i dont think there is a better phone on the market at that price point

      • +3

2026 will be the last year of support for the s22. The Motorola will have OS/security support until 2029.

    • +2

S22 meant to have sub par battery life if that's important to you. Mentioned in several reviews.

  • +4

Poor graphical performance due to 1220p screen . GPU struggles a lot 1080p would have better. Personally used it and found performance is worse than G54 which is ozbargain‘s favourite phone due to performance/price ratio.

    • How's the camera?

    • +1

Yeah that's what put me off the phone was it's relatively "weak" SoC.

    • Dimensity 7300 is never and perfors better cannot be

      • +10

Could you type that in English?

        • lol sorry.Dimensity 7300 is a never chip and and hard to believe it's worse than 7020

        • He tried

  • Caution expect delays in postage, they still havent posted from their deal a week ago:- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/876185

    • I ordered from that deal, and received mine in a few days, so unsure what may have happened with yours

      • I called they said they were out of the colour I ordered they changed to the yellow/gold colour which was in stock still no postage….

Edit, are you happy with it? I was hopeful of quick postage due to my current phone not working on Optus due to the 3G shutdown.

        • Ah ok, that's probably it then. I ordered the red, so perhaps it's less in demand.

          • @sputzy: Very dodgy company. Using your money to save or earn interest till you request refund.

Also how come they put offer again when they haven't fulfilled old order?

            • @Zonty: I don't think I'll need to request a refund considering I received my phone only a few days after ordering.

        • I ordered the Latte one all along and it hasn't been posted either. "Label created by sender" on Tuesday and nothing since then.

That one's for my dad though - I already bought the Poinciana for myself a month or so ago and have been generally pleased with it. My only two quibbles is that the squared off sides means it's less comfortable to hold than a phone with rounded-off edges, and the included case is awful and not worth using.

          • @mystarey: Appreciate the reply,
Shame about the included case, hopefully there will be many on the market soon. I was hoping the squared off sides would make it more grippy to hold, its the reason I put cases on in the past. If they ever post the darn thing I'll see for myself.

I didn't receive a "Label created by sender" message just a "Once your package ships we will send you a tracking number" at this point could be best to cancel and buy from JB.

            • +2

@OverThinker: I've been using the phone caseless without incident, the "vegan leather" back is very nice to hold and zero risk of it slipping out of my hands. I'm not even going to bother looking for a case now, happy to risk using it as-is, especially given the mil-spec testing and IP68 protection. My previous phone was a Sony Xperia 10 ii, and that phone with its glass back was almost unusable without a case.

The frame being plastic instead of aluminium (as it is on the vanilla Edge 50) and the glass being only Gorilla Glass 3 is a little below average in terms of specs, but it shouldn't matter for my use case.

              • @mystarey: I concur, the textured back makes it far easier for me to grip when compared with my old S21. And I find the plastic frame also provides me with slightly more texture to hold onto the phone when compared with the smoothed aluminium of the S21.

I never would have though about using my old phone without a case, but I'm much more confident with the Edge 50 Neo (I have already added a screen protector though).

    • maybe they don't even receive stock.

    • +1

Yap. Still waiting for my Order. Not even ship yet.

      • +1

        Hi dadaaaaaaaaaa

PM your order number, and I’ll look into it for you.

        • Pmd you. Ta

        • I also waiting. Pmd you. Thank you.

      • +1

Same here, they did not ship the order yet. I dont know what kind of company is it.

        • -2

I just confirmed with the warehouse that all orders placed before the 15th have been dispatched.

          • @AHUANG: Mate, this is false, no tracking number has been sent for an order on the 11th. When I contacted on the13th enquiring when it would be posted they said out of stock, with it due in the country in the 20th, I then requested they change my order to an in stock colour still no postage.

With customs then local postage, I doubt anyone will receive this prior to the 25th.

            • @OverThinker: Can you PM your order number I will check.

            • @OverThinker: Isn't this Australian stock, and if so, customs is not part of the equation.

          • @AHUANG: Thanks Ahuang, my order from back on the 11th still shows as waiting to be dispatched according to Australia Post.
Is it likely to still be at the warehouse. My understanding from your website contact page was additional stock was likely to arrive today/tomorrow.

            • @NorthPort: Hi NorthPort

Sorry to hear this, Should already been dispatched last week, can you PM your order number, I will check.

  • +7

I've had this phone for a few days and am enjoying it so far.

It's pretty lightweight, looks great (if you're into the colours, I got the red), and is generally snappy so far.
I'm coming from an S21 and have had Samsungs for the past 5 or so years, so there's a slight learning curve for me to get used to the stock experience. Battery life so far seems better than the S21.

I haven't had a chance to properly test everything yet, but everything seems to be pretty decent so far, including the cameras (haven't installed gcam yet which someone else recommended).

For the price I think it's a steal, especially if like me you plan to keep it for as long as it receives support. I'm also half hoping due to the price, there'll be a decent community of people who can port LineageOS or equivalent rom well after Lenovo stops providing updates

    • no FM radio nor microSD slot?

      • +1

No microSD, but unsure about the FM radio, I presume not though

      • +1

Why do you care about FM radio? I can't listen to any station more than 3 days straight. Same songs over and over. 80% same playlist every single day. Never anything new. Same old crap. Drives me crazy.

        • FM radio for when you go to sporting events is fantastic. Love having the commentary in my ear at the footy.

        • +2

Sounds like you're listening to commercial stations.
FM radio is amazing. If not for stations like 4ZZZ I'd never hear the latest stuff from bands that don't manage to stock their CD's locally.

One good example was when I was listening to the ChipTune show, and heard of MasterBootRecord.
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzuK4AXAbcc

I'd never have heard of them without FM radio :)

          • +1

@MasterScythe: It's great that you support 4zzz! I sometimes listen to them but just stream it through their website. Most of my new music comes from Spotify, or from support acts for other bands that I like.

  • Anyone successfully ordered today? Pressing "place order" and nothing happens.

    • Same, tried both Firefox and Chrome. cc @AHUANG

    • Hi jradd

I just checked, and we’re receiving new orders every minute. Please refresh your browser or try using a different one.

      • Will try ordering from laptop. But cleared cache, restarted phone and no luck still.

        • FYI I ended up ordering using Paypal. The credit card option is bugged.

          • @fredwu: Thank you for the follow up. Managed to order from my laptop on chrome.

      • @AHUANG

Motorola just released Moto G75 …are you guys going to have this model?

        https://www.motorola.com.au/smartphones-moto-g75-5g/p

        • Hi SydBoy

yes, we will have G75 shortly.

  • Hi rep,
any chance of sale for Samsung Galaxy S22/S22 plus soon, thanks

    • +2

$499 from amaysim is the best you can get currently, unlikely to be cheaper

      • +1

        Thx

  • +2

$1 cheaper at JB from the 22nd and lower if you have any gift card from recent GC deals.

    • Where are you getting this info from? I only ask, as I just tried to get them to price match, but will not match prices that use promo codes.

      • +1

They will not price match as they will say it is under cost. The agent told me it is up to Motorola "when" they will start their promotion. For me, I will wait for a few days, hopefully JB will also have 5% or 10% off + you can use GC for lowest price. :)

      • +2

Saw it their Black Friday Blitz catalogue printed not online. Also my date abkve is wrong should be the 21st.

        • Thanks for confirming, will hold off now!

    • And there's an ongoing gift card deal at Big W right now, so that works out nicely for people who want to take the punt.

Interesting though that JB don't stock the Latte colour, whereas Mobileciti are actively switching people to it. From a selfish regret-minimisationb perspective, I'm quietly glad JB don't stock it, as it's the one I ordered last week. :P

  • Is this an upgrade from Samsung S20 FE 5G? I have too many apps and it is getting a bit slow now.

    • Maybe this one is 10 or 20% better? If you want a 2x better sort of deal, you'd need to spend closer to 1K. I recently replaced my old phone with a G84, i find it to be blazing fast, and i'm a "power user".

    • +1

I have too many apps and it is getting a bit slow now.

Too many apps don't matter, but it's getting slower because more unnecessary apps run in the background all day. We don't need bank apps, food delivery apps, shopping apps, uber etc. to run all day in the background.

Install "Hibernator" app to hibernate these apps. Also use "SD Maid" app to clean rubbish files, app cache etc. then your phone will run smoothly and feel faster. Better if you can buy "SD Maid Pro" (paid version) to automate the app cache cleaning. Hibernator and SD Maid Pro are necessary in any android phone in my opinion. Also adblocker app like Adguard (paid) or NextDNS (free for personal use). Ads and trackers in running apps and system (Samsung tracker too) could slow down the phone and eat battery life. Also try to change the phone Settings to disable "background data" for apps that don't need to run all day in the background.

Motorola Edge 50 Neo is new. Not sure how good is the Mediatek processor as I prefer Snapdragon processor. I have Moto G54, but I wish it uses Snapdragon processor.

  • +1

I found that the phones with nano plus esim is that there isn't a in-depth way of customising each Sim card, contacts and ringtones as a dual Sim (physical) type handset.

  • I placed an order a week ago and still heard nothing, not even an acknowledgment email

  • +3

This is the actual price of this phone in INDIA, without any discounts.

    • In Australia normal price is when they put on sale. Just like colesworths.

  • +2

got this phone a month ago and the best feature no one mentioned is the SmartConnect which allows you to control phone on any laptop.

    • Does this also gives you the virtual desktop if you screen share on a TV? I've got a thinkphone and am considering getting this for longevity of updates

      • I have the Edge 30 Neo and it does that, so I'd be amazed if this one didn't.

        • Thanks Macrocephalic, that's my thoughts too from what I could google but just wanted to see if it could be physically confirmed.

  • Does this one have a headphone out? I know the 30 doesn't.

  • till waiting for g84 down below $250

  • Seeing Motorola guaranteeing 5 os updates makes me so happy

    • Sorry. I’m clueless. But does that mean android 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18

      Or like android 14.0.1 - 14.0.5?

      • +2

Later major OS update like android 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 (5 major Android upgrades)

  • Just bought a $1000+ Xiaomi 14t… Then bought a rayneo air 2 from another deal.. the xiaomi has later usbc but doesnt support video… S22 does..motorola neo doesn't!… Displayport alt maybe isn't well discussed but a highly useful feature…

    • Yeah you have to get up the "pro" motorolla phones to get display through USB.

  • Like I'm going to trust this when it's the same price as AppleCare+ ;-)

  • Hi Rep, Nothing got shipped to me for my last week order of headphones. I am looking for android tablet, any chance you will have sale on tablets?

  • +4

FYI code and deal seems to still be active

  • This one or samsung s22 5g 128gb for $299?

  • Can u get you get rid of all the possible bloatware from Motorola on this phone easily? Might sound a Daft question but only ever had Google pixels the pretty much the last 10years! Currently on the 6

    • There is barely, if any 'bloatware' on Motorola phones.

      • Cool thanks

    • 'Bloatware' depending on what you mean is pretty minimal.

They do pre-install some apps (Booking.com, LinkedIn, etc), but these can be easily uninstalled.

There are a few Motorola apps that can only be disabled, but these more compliment the stock Android experience, rather than replacing anything.
Imagine a pixel look and feel, but with some added benefits such as customising movements to perform certain actions (twisting the phone to open the camera), or to make minor adjustments to the theme (font, colour, etc.).

      • Cheers many thanks

  • +1

People considering Samsung Galaxy S22 or S23 or S23 FE seem to forget that this is a brand new phone with 2-year warranty, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, excellent battery and it only costs $397. It comes with an ultra fast charger and was only released a couple of months ago with OS support all the way to 2029 or Android 19.

S22 was released in Feb 2022 with OS support to 2026 or Android 16.

S23 was released in Feb 2023 with OS support to 2027 or Android 17.

S23 FE was released in Oct 203 with OS support to 2027 or Android 17.

Ask yourself these questions - brand new? how much? warranty? charger? how's the battery? how much RAM and storage? how much do you want to pay? $400? $500? $600? $1200? It's not that hard to work it out.

The Neo can easily last six years with an annual cost of $67.

    • Have the Moto 50G edge fusion, but grabbed the Neo on this deal last night for the 2nd SIM (separate phones for work and play) , the Neo seems a great deal, what would the battery be like in 4 years ? hard to tell and what will be new models then BUT updates for 5 years is a bonus if you are happy with the battery life in 4 years time … maybe then Apple will have an affordable model ?

      • EU mandate all mobile phones to have removable battery by 2027.

      • Hi @garage sale: Can I ask how is the Moto edge 50 Neo working after 3g shutdown? is it able to get network connectivity and make calls? which provider are you with?

        • Every person it's different right, 4G and 5G varies depending on your locale. I don't subscribe to the bad reception=issue with your phone. The network needs to up the power then.

  • I received mine today from the previous promo. A little slow to dispatch but no complaints.

  • How long will the Battery survive being charged at 68w? Probs kill it just outside of warranty…

    • +2

use 30w charger, these 68w things are great if phone is dead and you want to head out the door, but not ideal in the long term. my oppo does a high charge and then tapers off but that high charge is till it gets to about 80% and they recommend don’t go below 20% before a charge …. gentle charge is always good if you have the time.
